One salesman was very helpful and SMART, the other clown there was an absolute JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a used game there for my NEW wii system and discovered that the game didnt work well after 45 minutes of setting it up and trying to play it. Also note that I have a brand new bravia TV and have used other games on my wii with no problems. I took it back the next day and ask for a store credit, One clerk was fine, ask me a few questions about how the game was re-acting, After a few minutes he ask the other clerk if they had a wii console there (which they didnt) to test the game. Hmmmm, how can they "test" every game that comes in If they dont even have a system there to try it on??? So this clown comes up and starts saying it was my "system" and wasnt backing down, "something is wrong with your system" I truly hate to argue with anyone that doesnt have the power to actually put their hands on what they are talking about to evaluate and make a conscious decision! What a bad business practice! I am not stupid, (I was an air traffic controller in the service) and will not be talked down to about something as simple as a video game. Guess what they loose! BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE, MAKE THEM SHOW YOU THAT THE GAME WORKS BEFORE YOU PAY ANY MONEY FOR SOMETHING THAT DOESNT!!!!

I have to start off by saying that the only people who seem to be writing reviews here are the ones who are upset because either their expectations for the value of their games is WAY too high or they are mad because they did something to whatever they bought and werent allowed a return/exchange. The owners/managers; Graham, Steve, and Allen are all Awesome guys! The best that I had the pleasure of working for. I worked there for a little over 2 years and I occasionally stop in every now and then. Almost 95% of the time when customers left upset or angry it was their own fault for something they did to the item they were returning or they expected too much for their trade-ins. The fact of the matter is that videogames will always continue to decrease in value (for the most part). Thats just the nature of videogames. However, Fair Game will ALWAYS offer more value for your items over Gamestop or any other competitor. The selection of their games is top-notch, prices are the best, and the people working there are the best! And they all know what they are talking about. All of that combined is the reason behind why they will continue to provide the greater Sacramento area with the best videogame information, prices, and customer service. Keep up the good work guys!

I have no idea what the last reviewer was talking about but I really enjoyed shopping at Fair Game. I was sent there from Gamestop because they were the only place that took old SNES and PS1 games. I found that their trade prices were very good for the old stuff and were awesome for the newer system games. I got $45 credit for Darksiders, Game Stop offered me much much less. As far as the condition of the games I was very impressed, all the games were clean and in great shape. In fact none of the games that I purchased had any scratches on them, I talked to one of the staff and he said that all of the games in the store are scratch free, thats a lot different than the other big stores. I did find the staff very knowlegable and eager to help... also a bit different from the other stores that I have been to. After reading the last review I called about Earthbound, the last reviewer stated that it was $220 dollars, in fact Fair Game sells it for $54.99 which is nearly $50 less than what it was on ebay the same day I called.

When I initiallyc came in. To buy a super Nintendo customer service was great. What store doesnt when you are buying from them. The cashier told me any problems with anything bring the system back for a full refund I specifically asked what if its not compatible with my television. Just bring it in well take it back. I thought wow thats awesome customer service. Long story short its not compatible I bring it back. What do they say. Well there is nothing wrong with the system and they can only give store credit or exchange price $29. I paid $126 for this system. Store credit what makes you think I would want to come back to a store and spend my money from a store that doesnt keep its word. I am disappointed and just surprised that thats what they had to say. I even read there reviews and there raiting is good. Just wow I would never return to fair games to purchase from two faced owners.

Found Old Pokemon Gameboy games there. They tested it out and even took their time to go next door (another part of their business where they do the cd cleaning) to find a specific game (Yellow Version), that they havent entered in their system yet and sold it to me for the same price as another Pokemon game. They were very nice and helpful. Prices are a bit nutty, but overall its in your hands, no waiting or paying for shipping and thats fine with me :) They were also very nice to share a laugh when we tested the Yellow version because the pikachu was named some weird name...oh man I cant even remember but it was funny and really random. They also was kind enough to delete that game so I can start over & keep Pikachus original name. LOL <(-_-<) (>-_-)> (>-_-<) (^-_-)> <(-_-^) (^-_-^) <( -_- )> Dancing Kirby!!!!

Been shopping here for years. Yes, the prices on rare items are high, they charge collectors prices. They are the only place locally Ive seen gems such as Suikoden II (PSX), Tales of Destiny II (PSX), Bust-A-Move 4 (PSX), Grandia II (DC), and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (N64). Having rare titles available locally where they can be inspected for condition is worth its weight in gold to a collector like me. They can also do repairs and refurbishing on broken and worn consoles as well as professional disc repair and cleaning. A huge stock of very old consoles and games caps off the positive points. The only negative point I have for them is they are in the middle of freakin nowhere in a tucked away corner of Carmichael with nothing else around them. Bring your store over to Arden, or up to Sunrise, boys!

After driving by on Fair Oaks and seeing their Facebook advertising I had to check out Fair Game. Their store is clean, well organized and competitive on pricing even beating ebay on a lot of items. As a hardcore gamer that was looking for a now obscure item (oddly a Slim PS3 stand) Matt was able to take care of me by going out of his way to get me one at a fair price. I am very impressed by Fair Game and will be doing business again with them. These guys know their stuff and have the best selection of used (and some sealed new) retro games and hardware. Their selection is second to none in the Sacramento area, this coming from someone who shops used games / hardware at Dimple thinking they were the only local used game store left. Thanks guys! - Devon
