Bravo to the two Keiths at the South Dale Mabry location in Tampa. Keith the manager and Keith the professional salesman. I cannot say enough to thank these two men. I had been to a different location on Fowler. I had the exam by Dr. Walker who was great. I went into the store area and cannot express how rude and disconnected the woman was who talked with me. I left her store almost in tears and with no glasses. That was about 30 days ago. I finally decided to call the store in an area closer to me and explained what happened. Keith the manager, before even knowing what happened told me their policy with my insurance. It was what I had understood prior to my experience on Fowler Avenue. Keith identified himself as the manager on south dale mabry. He told me he would not be in today but the staff all knew the policy and could help. Ok. I thought, well see. Today I went into the south dale mabry store and Keith the professional salesman greeted me and my daughter. I told him my concerns. He immediately reiterated what Keith the manager had told me on the phone. Keith took the time to help me find the frames my insurance covered and I got the lenses I needed without paying a penny out of pocket. They were fabulous. I have had a huge financial problem since being ill, but I know when I am able I will buy other items from that store on south dale mabry and the two Keiths. I have never been made to feel so valuable as a consumer and so appreciated as a customer. Thank you Visionworks for these two wonderful professionals. Patricia Hall

Never in my life have I EVER received such poor customer service. While trying to order new contacts, I have had nothing but trouble with Visionworks. After my follow up exam, the doctor scribbled my prescription so illegibly that I was unable to order online, something that I had to do as the moody receptionist didnt offer to order a supply when I exited my follow up appointment. When I called the next day, the woman who answered told me, "Im the only person here and Im too busy to help you," and hung up. The next day I tried to get my prescription which they could not read over the phone. The manager offered to fax the script. I waited all day. Nothing. As my frustration grew, I decided to call the corporate customer service to get some answers. They called the store, and I finally was able to get a 6 month supply ordered. The charge went to my card. And here I sit writing this review 8 days later wearing my glasses. So annoyed by the lack of contacts, I called the store that had told me I would have the contacts in "5 days" and the woman told me I would not receive them until Tuesday. Eleven days after ordering. Save yourself the agony of horrendous customer service and go to Lenscrafters.

Very poor experience!!! Despite numerous requests and discussions with the staff who fit my glasses about where to set the distance break, specifically not set it too high, and to set it lower than my current glasses, they set the distance focal point on my progressive lenses too high. This requires me to hold my head at an unnatural down angle when watching TV, and walking with my eyes looking at the floor to see clearly. OR I can push the glasses down to the end of my nose to bring the distance lens down so I can focus. When I took the glasses to the office to get them replaced, they instead "adjusted them", ie they bent the hell out of the temple mounts to tip the lenses forward to try to get the lenses to align with my eyes. Now the glasses wont stay on my face, give me headaches and I STILL cant see, And of course the 30 day warranty just expired. In addition, the lenses they provided have an extremely narrow field of vision, So, I have essentially paid about $350 for an almost useless, uncomfortable, cheaply made pair of glasses that dont fit and dont work. Thank you Visionworks. My advice to progressive lens buyers is to go ANYWHERE other than Visionworks on Dale Mabry.

The problem is not with the friendly front sales staff but with the optometry department in the back of the store. Doctor is nice enough, but not only is the staff busy chatting and not paying attention, there is particularly one staff member / receptionist/ office person who is extremely rude and uncaring. I wish I had seen this rating before I went on my military Tricare referral because I definitely would have had it changed. This person in particular is not doing anything to change her behavior in hopes of their review going up any higher. And Im sure my doctor would like to know that she as a receptionist knows more than not only me, but more than my insurance company and even more than my doctor as she stated doctors make mistakes all the time and then went on to tell me what my primary care doctor should have done. Very abrasive and also very demeaning towards customers. I will definitely be filing grievances and speaking with Tricare in hopes of getting this company off of the referral list for the military. Save yourself the pain stay far away

Do not, repeat DO NOT go here for an eyeglass prescription. After paying to have an eye exam for a contact lens and eyeglass prescription I ordered frames and lenses online from another company. I was informed by the company I ordered from that my PD (Pupillary Distance) measurement was missing. I contacted Visionworks looking for this number and was told "We cant give that out by law." which I immediately called BS on only to have the story change to, "It is company policy not to give out that number." I was told that I could, "Go on YouTube and figure it out myself." Neither the optometrist nor the front desk inform you this small, but important piece of information, will be withheld from you. Obviously Visionworks is attempting to force customers to buy only their frames/lenses. I know after paying full price for an exam I expect all of the information I paid for. My suggestion is to find an Optometrist that does not attempt to hold you hostage to their products.

I have never experienced such horrible service from people working in a "medical field" When I first go there for my appointment, the staff was with other customers which is fine. But no one greeted me or said some one would be with me shortly. Mistake #1, which I should have left but I needed my eye exam so I stayed. The Doctor that gave me my exam was rude, short, and would ask me a question but would not let me finish answering and would just cut me off and order me to do something. Her name was Dr. Bernatsky. She also put way too much drops in my eyes to dialate them, which took forever for my pupils to get back to normal. I also overheard how the staff spoke with other customers and it was so rude. I will never go here again! They lost out on a customer. Prior to going there I was planning on purchasing some glasses after my exam, but after such horrible treatment I will go to Lense Crafters. They are a bit more expensive but I prefer their customer service.

vision exam was fine. Dr. Wilson very nice and professional. Exam for glasses and contact fitting around $100 which is reasonable I feel It was more the eyeglass and contact sales that was disappointing. They make it seem as if your glasses will be ready that afternoon, but really it takes 21 DAYS!! for 2 decent pairs of glasses (with thin lens and AR coating was over $400, The most annoying part was with contact lens order. I ordered dailies, it will take 2 weeks for them to get them. They werent going to give me samples to hold me over. When I asked (convinced the guy) he gave me 5, NOT 5 pairs 5 LENS! that will last me 2 days and 1 day with one eye! REALLY. so, overall the exam was fine but would not purchase glasses or contacts here.
