I moved to Beaverton recently, and found that this place was just down the street from my house. Being an avid gamer with a tight budget, finding a wide selection of games for even old consoles I still have was a treat. Even better, I can trade in old games that Gamestop refuse to take, and put that to store credit. Ive only visited a few times so far, but Ive already accumulated $11.50 towards buying recently released game I want to get. Today, I received $5 for an old Sega Genesis cartridge with a box I decided to let go, which was more that I initially expected, as I had hoped for a least a buck. I was very surprised. The selection of games available impresses me, including games Ive hardly seen on shelves before, and ones that I missed out on in my childhood. I have yet to purchase a game from here yet, but I was referred to here by a family member, so Im sure it wont be a problem. In addition to games, I see many consoles, handhelds, peripherals, and even figures, posters and guide books. This store is more well stocked than Gamestop, which had been my game store of choice prior to moving to Beaverton. Also, the one at the register was able to suggest a better time to trade in a few games I wasnt able to drop off due to overstock, and even suggested places to pick up older games to bring here for a profit. No one in my previous place of residence ever did that. Come Christmas, Im not only using my accumulated credit to buy the game I want, but I think Ill snag a few for Gamecube with cash.

This store has been around for a very long time. It must be around 25 years now Id bet. I remember being there maybe almost 22 years ago for the first time as a young kid. My opinion of the place has bounced around very slightly over the years, but overall I think its a good store, and I go there a lot these days when game hunting just to see what has wandered in since last time. The staff are pretty good, and knowledgeable. Prices are.. well retail and what youd expect. Some are on the low end, the rest are generally in the middle. This isnt always the best for serious collectors, but its a LOT better than other nearby stores, and even reasonable I daresay. The selection is not what it once was, as it seems hard times are hitting this little shop. Speaking with some of the employees, it seems that a lot of the trade-ins on retro stuff have dried up. I can remember even 5 years ago going in and being given boxes of NES games to dig through on request that werent gone through or put out yet, the sort of thing a game hunter lives for! This is not so now, and I worry about the future of this important piece of many locals childhood! They should have gotten out of that dead mall years ago! If you have games to sell, trade, or buy you should give your business to this longstanding local icon. You may not find flashy gimmicks, displays, or silly claims, but youll find an honest games dealer.

Judging from koola stories review, I think he may have been waited on by the same girl that I had, because I had a similar negative experience. The young girl employee, who was doing nothing but watching anime on TV, not only did not bother to ask if I needed help, but she was very rude and snappy when I politely asked if they had the game I was looking for. Im thinking, though, that she may be a bit prejudiced, though. I noticed upon entering the store, she did ask the White kids that were already there if they needed help and when they said, No...she went back to watching her program and completely ignored me even after she saw me walking near her at the counter checking out the games after a couple of minuters, I had to go to her and ask. Afterwards, another White couple walked in and within moments of them barely walking through the door, she asked if she could assist them. So, I would get friendlier service if I had lighter skin, maybe? I liked this place in the past, because of the broad selection of old school games and gaming system which is why I give it two stars instead of two, but they should really get rid of the rude little racist girl employee they have working there...probably be better for business. Just a thought....

Ive been going here for almost 10 years now and its always been a pleasure to peruse the selection and make purchases. They carry anything video games, and typically at decent prices, too. The store is family-owned (A literal mom and pop shop) and as such there tends to be only one or two people on staff at a time, so be prepared to take some time, but I find the staff to be very helpful and insightful about the merchandise and easy to check out from. As for the negatives: lately the stores stock has seemed a little underwhelming compared to the past, but I think this is due to the heavy competition in the area that is splitting the trade-ins more. The store is also very small and can feel crowded very quickly when it gets a little busy. Thats about all I can think of. Anyways, be sure to check them out if your into old video games. :)

I am so disappointed in the service I received. I took an Xbox to get a laser repair and it took 2+weeks when they said it would take 2 weeks tops and when I got it back they did NOTHING to it. I paid them 20 dollars for the repair and when I got home I tried it out. It was exactly the same as I left it when I dropped it off. They didnt refund me my money and said i was charged for "labor". The technician was very unprofessional calling me a liar, saying that it worked fine. When I took it back stating it wasnt repaired, an associate tried several games and realized nothing was done. I am so disappointed and unsatisfied. Id advise against going for console repairs; go with a more organized, professional store

Came in today (towards the end of the day) to look for a certain game and the employee , who is a young female, was very rude and unfriendly. Bad customer service for someone just standing around and not doing anything. Not once did she ask me if I needed any help or if I was looking for something in particular. On top of that, the games are overpriced and in bad condition. Amazon or Ebay has a much reputable business and I think Ill stick to them over Game Trader. Now to the pros of the place : 1. They have old stuff if youre looking for a particular classic game, but that doesnt mean they will have it. 2. Huge, huge selection of old classic games.

I wandered into store and wasnt greeted by any staff until I was about three feet from them five or so minutes later. Besides that, the prices are really good for a market that has been becoming ridiculously inflated. Selection was slim but what they had in stock were priced closer to what you would expect to see at a flea market or some other place without the overhead of a store. Also, they will repair consoles. Prices vary depending on problem, of course, but that is a great service to have and if you find a "for parts" deal on eBay they could be a go-to for getting it in running condition again
