All big box stores have the same problems and the West Nyack Home Depot is probably about average as these monsters go so I wont condemn the entire store. But I will say that you should think very hard before you purchase an appliance from these folks. I did and I regretted it deeply. Without going into the details, which are boring, I can summarize as follows:The salesman Candlon Dorvilus made promises that Home Depot was unable to keep and when the deal went sour he disappeared. When I called the store several days later to insist that my visa card be credited for a purchase that was never received I was placed on hold and shuffled between the service desk and the appliance dept. After half an hour of this BS I called back and asked for the store manager, Dave Lawrence, and explained as politely as possible that I was at the end of my patience and needed a credit card refund immediately. I described the failed transaction and explained that my wife was currently in another appliance store and we needed the credit so that she could go ahead with her purchase. Mr Lawrence said that he would look into it and get back to me. At this point I raised my voice a little and explained that this wasnt good enough, that I needed him to resolve the situation immediately or I would make it my mission to make his life unpleasant. Yes I threatened the man – can you blame me? - his employees had wasted over a day of my time and now I was jumping through hoops to get my money back! Mr Lawrence threatened to hang up (as though he couldnt possibly understand why I was irate) but eventually (after half an hour) I finally got my money back. No apology, no admission that I had been treated poorly, just a simple refund issued by an underling who suggested that I must just be a very “unpleasant person”. And this is the problem with Home Depot and every other big box store. There is a general absence of competence & accountability, and when the aggrieved customer has the nerve to actually complain the first impulse is to blame the victim. If youre shopping for an appliance I suggest you go elsewhere. There are still a few small businesses in the neighborhood.

Worst gutter installation ever! It should be NEGATIVE 10. THREE Months later STILL NOT DONE! I have enjoyed multiple "Im Sorry", "Its not my fault", " someone else did it", " we have to reschedule", "I dont have the right materials", "I was told something else", " we cant find your order", "your order is pending", "this is not not your house", " we cant find your information" I Am justing doing what I was told", that I cant begin to express my frustration. To be such a big company, NO ONE has any idea what the other is doing. William J. Sullivan is the installation manager and he doesnt know where his employees are. if the job was started or completed and neither does Homedepot. I initially asked how long this project will take. I was told 2-3 weeks to begin. First, they had to verify that I lived in my house. They searched the wrong property, then asked me for a deed which I provided. Then, they asked me if I have anything else to verify it my house. What more do you need other than a deed WITH MY NAME ON IT? Then they did not call for a month to schedule. I called them and was told the order was pending. Pending what?? Then they rescheduled. Then we dont have the correct order. Then I cant make it. Then my truck broke down. Then HOMEDEPOT calls to apply a warranty for a job that wasnt even started. Then we FINALLY schedule for Saturday at 1:30pm (3 MONTHS LATER) AND THEY SHOW UP AT 8:30 AM!! WHO IS RUNNING THIS OPERATION!! TO BE CONTINUED.......

Larry Press Design consultant! I used a private designer 3 years ago to help me design my kitchen, for the extension of that kitchen I thought I would try it myself first. I went to Lowes and dealt with a woman there who was very impatient and gave me hard time about showing me different options on the computer. (Isnt that her job?) I had to really beg her just to show me how a different layout would look, and I had to deal with her huffing a puffing at me. I walked away thinking "I guess I have to call that designer back," Anyway, I wanted my husband to be involved in some changes and she was "totally booked all week" so I figured why not compare so we went to Home Depot in the mall figuring we would see a movie afterwards. When I called Larry was SO FRIENDLY that I was excited to meet him. I have to say in person he was EVEN BETTER! He not only helped me see every single option I wanted, he actually showed me BETTER options! He never hesitated changing, remaking and moving things around for me. No more need to pay a designer, Larry helped me improve the kitchen and I will place the order this week! As a woman, Lowes and Home Depot are stores that are like Kryptonite.. But now its my new "go to" place!

If there was a 1/2 star option, that is how I would rate it. Sad because of the ultra-convenient location. Either the staff in this store is deliberately unhelpful, or they are woefully incompetent. A number of different situations have driven me to the slightly more expensive competition just down NY-Rt. 303. From bait and switch style tactics with the Weber grill I attempted to purchase, incorrect labeling of prices, failure to apply sale pricing and resultant condescension when the mistake was pointed out to a general atmosphere of negativity from the staff there is never any reason to spend your time, money or energy doing business with these hacks. Home Depot: invest in your employees, a little more training plus paying them a little more, like your chief competition would I believe result in a better business.

Worst employee assistance ive seen. I waited over an hour for the guy who knows about plumbing to help me, never showed up. Some random guy in the aisle actually ended up helping with my questions. Upon leaving the aisle to go pay i saw the pluming expert helping another customer after taking an extended lunch break. Weird story but thats actually what it was. No communication and nobody knows anything or where anyone is or how to get help. I asked about 5 different employees and everyone just brushed me away. Go to lowes.

I enjoy working with my hands and whenever it is something I can do myself I just go and get the part I need and take care of the task by myself. Here I was disappointed that there was no one at the tools department to help me make the best decision. Great power tools and good prices, but they must hire someone who know more.

Made an online order and when I came to pick it up they were all damaged items. When I checked the stock theyre were other perfect condition items (at least of the items I was able to find). I guess they try to get rid of damaged stock this way. It is worthwhile to go to a store further and not go to this store.

I don;t like this location. I hear the employees talking between themselves and they dont seem like a happy bunch. The place is disorganized looking... even for a warehouse atmosphere. Have been to much better Home Depots.
