Unbelievable (in a good way). Thats the only word I can think of--which is a big deal, because Im a writer--to describe Domicile. My wife and I have shopped at Domicile for over 10 years now, starting when we first moved to Chicago from San Francisco. We had a store just around the corner from us in Lakeview (on Broadway, now closed), and now we live in the burbs, near both the Evanston (closing soon) and Lincolnwood stores. Larry, the owner, puts so much heart into every aspect of Domicile: the quality of the furniture, the showroom, the service, and the unbelievable (theres that word again) prices. We used to shop at Crate & Barrel and Room & Board, but now we always go to Domicile first. Two days ago we bought 6-7 items at the Evanston store, to take advantage of the great end-of-business prices on floor models (things were getting snapped up fast!). After coming home, we realized the sofa and two of the chairs we bought werent quite right for the room we wanted to put them in. But the delivery was scheduled for the next day. I called Larry and told him we were having second thoughts. Without hesitating he said, "No problem. You can get a refund or store credit." We were thrilled, especially because the receipt/invoice make clear that all sales of floor models are final, etc., etc. Unbelievable service like that makes us confident about shopping at Domicile--we know well find what we need, and any issues we have will be taken care of in the best possible way. Of course, service doesnt matter if the product is low-quality. Weve loved every piece weve gotten from Domicile, from the $80 end table to the $2500 sectional that has lasted over a decade with minimal wear and tear (despite our kids best efforts!). The Lincolnwood showroom is spectatcular, just like the service, selection and prices. Look, I came up with another word for Domicile: spectacular! Unbelievable/spectacular selection + quality + service + prices = Domicile!

Thanks to Domicile I have the sofa I always wanted! I know many will jump to write a review if they are super mad, but I felt I should write one because I am ecstatic!!! My husband and I have been looking for a couch for ages! literally!!! 2 years we fought over style, fabric vs. leather, size. It was man vs furniture! Alas we decided to start our search around the holidays so we went to the usual places: Crate&Barrel, Room&Board, WalterE Smithe, Dania, some local place called Roys...we even considered Craigslist (and thank our lucky stars we did!!!) Because of the terrible reviews we read for Domicile we decided it was not worth even looking BUT...after finding a ton of amazing deals on craigslist (plus they have a flickr page-how awesome is that!?) we found a dining room table. During our visit to their Outlet in Evanston we were redirected to the biggest furniture showroom we could imagine! filled with so many unique items. The showroom is located in a not-so-busy industrial area (not sure why) but we found a sales person right away who was happy to help us. She took us around the whole showroom and explained exactly what to look for when buying a sofa. After going to furniture stores for years we learned more in 1 hour than we have in 2 years, and we made a decision right away! The funny part is we actually realized that we ended up with a sofa we saw at Roys but because we didnt know how to "shop" for furniture we never knew thats what we wanted! What made our experience with Domicile actually amazing was the fact that we didnt even have to wait 3 months. They called 2 weeks later and said a shipment came in with a sofa exactly like the one we ordered. It was wonderful to know that someone took the time to follow up on a $700 order when they have sofas which cost $4000! Thanks Domicile...

Got my white Italian leather sectional delivered yesterday. My living room looks fabulous now! Cannot wait to invite my friends over for the house warming party! Thank you Domicile! Thank you Nadia --- she was very knowledgeable on furniture and interior design, and extremely patient while I couldnt decide which sofa to choose from for the whole afternoon (that happens when you got too much choices, isnt it?) Great shopping experience! The store was very impressive --- it is even prettier than their photos on Google, filled with beautiful furniture. My first expression as I walked in was WOW. Seriously, I’ve never seen a furniture store as nice as this one before. The owner must’ve put a lot of effort. Fast delivery --- my sofa was delivered in two days, can you believe that? I never shop cloth or furniture on line, one reason is you lose the fun part of shopping; the other reason is waiting for the item to be shipped from who knows where it is (totally painful). So I always shop at local stores, and I feel good by doing this --- think about it, the local stores pay the taxes which support our own community, so I’m actually supporting our local community, and if more people doing this, I’m sure we will be the first out of recession! --- Pardon my long lecture, a professor’s old habit. Back to Domicile’s Furniture, about the quality and price, I did my research before I went to their store, literally had a book of sofas slips from other stores to compare with, the result: I got the best deal! To use a simple example --- it is like only paid $300 for a LV handbag in Nordstrom. How good feeling is that! Although it is kind of hidden behind Toughy, the store is very close to I-94’s Toughy exit, and it was not hard to find with a little help from Google Map.

2 month ago my review would be a 5 star. Now after 3 month since we paid over $3 thousands for a sectional - we havent used it once. At first, we had been waiting around 2 month for our sectional to arrive to the store. Which is normal and told us that upfront. Then, it arrived incomplete. Bad? Yes. But not a terrible thing. I called the store very next morning, reported all the missing parts(pillow, legs, screws, bolts) and was assured that they will expedite the shipping from a manufacturer to me. It was in March. Yesterday, I was told that store has our missing parts, but cant expedite the shipping and it would take another 2 weeks to send it to my house. I took a time off today and spend another 2 hours driving to & from a store and getting our missing parts. Only today, after plenty of phone calls, inquiries and waiting from me and my wife we finally got our parts, so we can enjoy our living room sectional. We honestly liked this furniture store before the whole experience! I hope that they would pay attention to this review by improving service to all future customers.

We ordered a sectional sofa from here- it took 8 weeks to come in. The salesperson told me that it was small enough to fit in a standard hallway with the 3 separate pieces. It was not and we could not send back to store without paying a stocking fee and we would only get store credit, not a refund. We had to pay to have someone literally take it apart then put it back together to fit two fo the 3 pieces into our basement. Then, the one piece that didnt have to be disassembled actually had a probem- the frame wasnt even. So I had to call them 3 times, send multiple emails with pictures, then send follow up emails, and they eventually sent someone out to look at it from a third party company. He confirmed there was a problem with the way it was built and said hed send Domicile a report. Ive called twice and no one is calling me back for any follow up. The sectional looks nice other than the fact that the frame of the middle piece is uneven and dips way down in front. the customer service is TERRIBLE.
