On July 4, I carefully shopped for new patio furniture, and decided to splurge and invest in a swingasan swing and two wicker chairs from Pier 1. I ordered them online, choosing free store delivery. Surprisingly, their delivery took two weeks. I excitedly went to the store two weeks later to pick up my items. I went around back, and they had a floor model of the Swingasan holder (I had paid for a new one!) that had scratches all over it. I was told to use "Goo Gone" and the smudges would come off. Okay, then. We loaded that and the two chairs in my car (and the manager hit my car with the heavy stand, ugh). I got home and attempted to put the stand together.But there were no directions, and after looking it up online, I realized it was missing parts. Also, the smudges WERE scratches, so Goo Gone did nothing. Also, one of the wicker chairs didnt have the weather resistant protective coating on one of the arms. I called their 800 customer service line, and after waiting 25 minutes to explain the situation, they put me through to the store manager - who I didnt really want to speak with, since that person was the one insistent on me taking the faulty product in the first place. She agreed to exchange the product, but said they would have to order it online, and I would have to paid in advance for the new order. That is extremely antiquated. So, this meant, I would have to make an extra trip back to the store to get my money back (and return the faulty items before the new ones were in) or have a few hundred dollars advanced to Pier 1 for several weeks. She anticipated the items would be on the next Fridays truck. The following Friday I went in, and they werent on the truck. But i was able to return the faulty products. I waited another week - they said it would definitely be there the following week. When I came in the next Friday, they explained the truck had issues and it wouldnt be in until Monday. So, I came back Monday - got the new stand and the new chair. Went home. Opened the stand - it was fine - but the chair, had broken wicking all along the seat. Another call to the manager - this one a very sweet, helpful one. She agreed to give me a small discount, and immediately credit my account (which means the first one could have done this, but refused). She placed an order for a new chair. Two weeks go by. I go to pick up the chair, and time look at it at the store. It is damaged as well. The third order - and damaged. The damage was less noticeable, and would be under a seat cushion, and I figured, I had received it at a discount (technically this discount was for all the trouble - not for a bad a product), but I decided to take it. I couldnt bear to request a fourth one! But, I will never, ever spend money on Pier 1 products again. The experience was incredibly frustrating and the products are not quality.

This store is decorated so well with their items I want to move in lol. Great selection of furniture, drapes, pillows, candles etc etc. Employees are helpful and friendly.
