I went to the home depot to ask them to measure my windows for my new apartment. They said they would have to send someone over and it would cost me 118.00 total. I spoke with Rene in blinds dept. He said I would have to pay 40.00 up front and the balance later when I got the shades I wanted, but no mention was made as to whether or not I had to purchase my shades at the home depot. I assumed for this reason, it was optional. When I saw Rene and he took down all my info, he mentioned that I would have to pay 55 and change instead of the 40 he said on the phone. I had him ask the management to waive the excess because I had to come back later anyway and he said no, then I asked him to cover the excess and Id pay him back later when I paid the balance and again it was no. Although he apologized earlier when the error was discovered, he had the nerve to blame me by saying I should have brought more money with me and I told him he should not have given me the wrong amount, so I had to make 2 extra trips on account of his mistake. To make a long story short, after I had the measurements done, Sharon in the same dept said that it was mandatory that I had to buy the shades over there if I wanted the measurements and knowing I d be paying a fortune, I said no and demanded my money back. Thank God it was done with no probs, but about 3 weeks later, Rene called and said he got the measurements in. what crappy service, Stay away from this store if you are looking for honesty and quality employers rather than amatuers.

Worst experience ever. The place is not pleasant, the staff is not helpful, and when you need to speak to the MANAGER for help in any issue, HE IS NEVER THERE, or that is what the staff tell you. Went there today October 10, 2014 with problems in some SPECIAL ORDER doors that came in the wrong size. They didnt want to take back. Manager was not in the Store, Assistant Manager told me that since it was a special order, basically it was my problem now. The most they could do was to replace the door, which would take 3 to 4 weeks, and I could not wait that long, or they were going to charge me a 15% re-stocking fee for a mistake that WAS NOT MINE. Told her I was going to call the Corporate number, and she IRONICALLY offer me to get the number. Call the Home Depot Corporate number, explain my problem and got the approval to made the return. When I went to Customer Service to process the return, WAS MISTREATED beyond any could EVER IMAGINE. NEVER TO GO HOME DEPOT PORT CHESTER. Drive to New Rochelle, Norwalk, or DONT GO TO THIS BUSINESS AT ALL.

I placed an order at another Home Depot for 250 pavers @ $.98 each. When I arrived, there were only 120 in stock even though the website showed 300 and fulfilled my order. The next day the price of the paver jumped from .98 to 1.97 each. I have been bouncing around to different Home Depot locations trying to finish out my order so I can do my project. All other locations have honored my original price of .98 per paver after I explain what happened. Port Chester would not honor the price for me. What made it worse was when I spoke to a manager at the customer service desk and while I was trying to explain to him what happened, he just said no he couldnt do it while walking away from me while I was speaking. I guess the customer service Manager was too busy to serve a customer in a professional manor. If you dont know how to treat people with respect, maybe you should be working in a position that does not require you to deal with other humans. I wont ever be back at this location.

So disappointed! Went there to return a few items with my mother as we are redoing a bathroom in the home. Was talked to EXTREMELY RUDELY BY A MAN NAMED CHADDIE! He told my mother to "cool it" and "relax" multiple times. We were completely relaxed just asking to return a med cab politley. I stepped in and told him to back off and not talk to my mother like that but replied to me with "cool it and you relax too son." No way were we gonna take it! My mother requested to do a formal complaint and asked repeatedly for the man Chaddies last name, unto which he refused! We are still waiting for management but there is no way this is going to be forgotten. You do not talk to a hard working woman and mother like that!! I will never go back here, ever. WHERE IS CUSTOMER SERVICE???!!!

Worst customer service ever received. Employees send you from department to department and all blame each other. Had to pay for multiple measures for new flooring and bathroom renovations only to be told that Id need a 3rd measure because they didnt consider I needed new tile in the bathroom! One person tells you one thing another person says another. Even the "specialists" in their proper department dont know their stuff - when I sit down to design a bathroom the employee should help with the design - give options and choices and suggestions. None of that happened - instead I was told I "fit into a stereotype" because of the style of cabinets I wanted and should expect to be ripped off for that choice. All Amateurs in this store. Worst ever Home Depot - period.

Worst ever! The manager dictates the return policy on items when he feels like it! Do not assume typical Home Depot return policy to be honored here. CONSUMER BEWARE! Currently, as Kevin, the acting manager, condescendingly explained to me sump pumps ARE NOT eligible for returns no matter what the home depot return policy says. Hoping the consumer protection agencies put these guys in their right place! Don't let them treat you like this - complain to BBB, to your credit card company, to any gov't agency you know! This is not the way a business should be run!

I have been on the phone for 25 minutes. The first time it was the "wrong department". I thought appliances might include space heaters but he said no and put me into neve never land of waiting. Finally I got an answer and a pick-up on the over head system. Just ask for the overhead system or you willl be lost in space. The service is about ten times worse than in the Chicago area. Since I teach marketing I know bad customer service when I meet it. Just train the crew or have top management call the stores from time to time to see how responsive they are or are not.

Since i am a big believer in Do it yourself repairs, i decided to fix our gate and fence. All i needed is strong paint and few hinges. The big surprise for me, was to find that there is paint that you can apply directly on rusted metal!!! and the credit for saving me hours of polishing and cleaning goes to the sales representative at the paint section, who gave me a tip that worth a lot!! But, when i got to the cashier, i found that they charge 15% more for this paint than the online option. So, 5 stars for the help, minus a star for the crazy price...
