I visited the Macfarlane Center location on 8965 Research earlier today.I was attempting to return (for store credit )some glass jars and candle holders I had purchased for an event that is no longer taking place. As I approached the counter the cashier asked how she could help me.I explained to her I had bought these items for an event that has now been canceled and I do not need them and would like to return them. I start to unload my box of glassware and VERY RUDELY the cashier rolls her eyes and loudly says," THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS". Puzzled,I ask her "whats ridiculous?" She tells me that "returning all those items is ridiculous",then proceeds to call another customer to her register while Im unloading my items, meanwhile talking about me to the other customer and still trying to argue with me. She says to me,"when I have something I dont need,I give it away.I dont return it." To which I explained to her (which I really shouldnt have had to) "if I spent my hard earned money on an item ,but I dont need it,I will return it.And what she does with things she buys has nothing to do with me." All the while still talking to the other customer about whats going on (which was none of her business). The cashier makes a comment about her not having the time of day to argue with me to the other customer (yet she was the one who was rude to begin with). She then tells the customer to come around to where I am and swipe her card (telling my son to move out the way).So the customer comes around to swipe her card reaching OVER my stuff (while asking me WHAT EVENT WERE THE ITEMS FOR ANYWAY?). She finishes her transaction and gets her stuff and says to the cashier "Life is too short to argue with people like that",to which the cashier says "yes it is.Im not going to do it today." I felt as if they both were patronizing me. The cashier finally takes my reciept looks at it and hands it right back saying they cant take the items back because the reciept is no good, and then calls her manager (Brian) over ,tells him my items have been used (that is how I bought them, its Goodwill),so that he can point to the sign on the wall that says 7 day exchange (which is no where on the reciept). He points at it and walks off.The cashier hands me back my reciept and then calls the another customer over before I can even get my stuff back in my box. When I asked her for her name to make a complaint instead of giving me her name she smugly says, "you are more than welcomed to call." I ask her for her name again (because I could not see her name tag clearly) and she continues to say "go ahead and call, youre welcomed to." I ask her," youre name is Shelly (she has bleach blonde hair and dark black eyebrows)?" And she rolls her eyes and says "yeah." I finish packing up my things and head (fuming from that experience) towards the door and the cashier says mockingly ," Have a great day,I hope it gets better." I have NEVER in my entire life been treated that way by an employee of a store I patron. It was a HORRIBLE experience. Shellys behavior was DISGUSTING. And the way she tried to berate me for returning something, and getting another customer involved in something that had nothing to do with her,was unbelievable and should be unexceptable. If Shelly has a problem with aspects of her job (returns are part of it) she probably shouldnt be working there. I will never go back to that location ever again!

Its an ok, overpriced experience. The employees arent the best at helping you out so you do need to know something about what youre looking for and use your phone to look-up the item for compatibility. They also do not let you plug anything in to test in fear of you tripping their breakers. Theyre also anal about it so its best just to know what youre looking for and buying it. What they need to do is have a separate circuit dedicated for testing and only have the employees try it out for you after verifying its compatible. Ive bought 3 Apple computers from them, a $20 eMac which is now a cathouse. It worked though. An overpriced 17" late 2006 iMac with 160GB/2 GB Ram running 2.0GHz for $100 and just last night a 20" version of the same machine running 2.16GHz C2D/250GB for $30.00! Its all overpriced here and i mean OVERPRICED! $4.95 for a simple 5.0V wall wart! In any case, all-in-one iMacs are an unknown when it comes to buying them, if they look liked theyve opened them dont buy unless you intend on disassembling it. Also, late the C2D white iMacs are dangerous to buy because of their high-failure rate with video cards. Take a look anyways as you never know what youll find.

Experience with computer help is they always look at you dont know what we are talking about or the help really could care less if you find what you want. Buy it or not, there just there putting in there time. Was told I could return Item with receipt or get a gift card. They sold me a product they suggested for my computer after telling them I had a Compaq/HP model, they sold me memory chips that only go in an Apple. I went to store and they said I was past a 7 day return, but since my item ended in$.95 it wasnt returnable at all. Now I own $40 of memory I cant use but worker told me I was out of luck. Found out Im going to take a loss on EBay. Dont shop here for computer parts unless you like gambling your cash

Fairly overpriced for the most part. Lots of old computer parts are readily available but the pricing is quite high unless you are looking for an old GPU ( Think Radeon 4850s for $5) , Basic Sound Card, Basic Monitor or Scraptop ( laptops with many of their parts stripped). I went in to get a cheap IDE DVD Drive and found all of them had a uniform price at 15 dollars which is a bit high since most IDE DVD Drives are easily found at scrap prices and a New SATA DVD Drive is only 20 dollars with a proper warranty. Overall its ok at its high points but I would generally recommend shopping Goodwill Online or elsewhere online for better prices unless you need the return policy .

To the front desk guy all I asked were some simple questions about CS and from the second you answered you clearly showed no type of friendliness. You had a very rude demeanor and you can tell just by hearing you talk that you hate your job. But instead of answering phones, and being rude to people who have done nothing to you, you should really try to find something positive for yourself to lean on. Nobody knows your problems but guess what. WE ALL HAVE PROBLEMS. Grow up and grab that damn bull by the horns and tumble its ass down. Control your life dont let life control you. Have a great day.

If your computer needs some TLC, and youre like me and prefer to do it yourself, this is the place to come. They have shelves and shelves of motherboards, keyboards, cases, and chips. There are hooks filled with cables, and bookcases full of software of all kinds. Best of all, the people who work here know their stuff. They speak geek...and ordinary human with equal skill, and can help you find the right video card or the replacement cords for your computer even if youre tech challenged! #30DayChallenge #Austin Day 20 Places for repairs
