Every time I go to Top Drawer Thrift, I feel like a kid in a candy store. No, better than that. More like Charlie Bucket in the Wonka factory. I’m pretty certain I’ve seen glimpse of Oompa Loompas peeking out from behind all the cool stuff that one can find at Top Drawer. The assortment of items - from the t-shirt barrels to the old radio tubes, from clothing to cookware, electronics to consignment furniture. But be quick about buying something - if you think you can wait until the price drops the next week, you may end up missing out. Hell, even turn your back on something for a few minutes and it could disappear into the hands of another customer! Even if you can’t find something to buy (though I highly doubt it), a visit to Top Drawer thrift isn’t complete without admiring the front window displays and seeing what high fashion the resident Tranniquins are wearing. So chic, unique, and quite often gender-bending. And it’s all for a great cause - the money goes to support Project Transitions, a non-profit that provides housing and hospice to persons living with HIV/AIDS in the Austin area. Makes buying something before the price is reduced the next week feel all the better.

In argument with a couple of the poor reviews here, they were not deserved. this place is really nice. I live in South Tx and make this place a stop when I am in the Austin area, or driving through on my way to/from Dallas. True, it is small, and, therefore, limited on space, but they dont carry junk. As with any thrift store, you will always find some prices higher than you think they should be, but normally their prices are very low, especially for the quality. A great place for "recreational shopping". And if visited when ever you are in the area, you will often be glad you made the effort to check it out. The staff is friendly, and there are long term employes. I often find nothing I want to buy, but often I do make "treasure" finds, On my most recent trip, I found an LP for my collection that I had been looking for over ten years, and it cost a buck. I never regret visiting, even when I dont buy anything. If you have nice things to gift, and you dont really care where they go, please do care, and take it here instead of the other places.

I adore this thrift store. Not only does it benefit people living with HIV/AIDS, and have the only trannequins in town (as far as I know) but its filled with some of the most glorious treasures of all time. Antiques, designer clothing, mid-century furniture, ceramics, wonderfully strange art, household goods, linens, you name it. Items vary by the day and prices get discounted the longer an item has been in the store, so it pays to visit often. Every time I go I find something fun to buy. And every time I buy something I feel glad to be able to help people in need while getting to take home great treasures at the same time.

I loved this place when we went. I will go back for more, even though I will probably just spend a few bucks. What I loved about it is that it offers some "high end" thrift (like nice lamps, etc) without driving the prices up. Sure, there are a few expensive items, but I hate going to something like a Goodwill and they charge standard brand-new price for old used bedding or something. Top Drawer feels more like finding a killer garage sale that is being hosted by that eccentric awesome couple up the street. Stop by even just to look!

Terribly overpriced USED donated stuff. Its sad really, This USED to be a nice affordable place to shop and knowing I was supporting local chairty with my purchases. Greed has turned it into a pricey boutique but same used merchandise. I havent shopped there in over 5 yrs because of it. Goodwill has better pricing even. Its all nicely displayed but still all used donated stuff you can find at garage sales.

Great prices on clothing!!! Store was not crowded when we were there. Not the largest selection but quite a variety of different types of items to choose from. Sales associates didnt swarm us, which was nice. Check out was fast & easy. Will return in the future! (I would suggest parking on the side of the building as it could be tricky backing out onto Burnet Rd during peak traffic times.)

I have found some very nice things at Top Drawer. Also, I agree, the staff is great. I think the two bad reviews didnt realize you have to be there at the right time to find things. It is hit or miss but well worth your trip.....even if it is just for the benefit of HIV/AIDS victims. You might find something and it helps such people. I also encourage people to donate there, as I do.

Worst service ever!!! Slow ass Cashier. Then he gets mad because we asked for something in display. Didnt want to sell me a pin that he just put out because supposedly they were just pricing it. HORRIBLE DISGUSTING PRICES!!! This is NOT an THRIFT store is mote like antiques MALL.

Ive stayed in here way too long a couple times. 25 cent books, cheap shirts, trinkets, knick knacks, paddy whacks... you can have a ball with $10. Who knows what youll find. Great prices and awesome finds! Richard Scarrys "Things To Know" is my favorite treasure from Top Drawer.

This has been my favorite thrift stores for a number of years. The selection is great. They serve a great purpose. And their parties are fabulous. I suggest you get on their email list and attend a party....they arent frequent, but they are a fund way to thrift shop.

Love it! Higher end, not junk, so expect a few items to be higher priced. Inventory changes, so you have a wonderful surprise each time you go. Love that these amazing people work hard and all goes to charity. Pretty impressive.

Favorite resale, hands down. Clothes, books, jewelry, dishes... the list goes on. Better prices and better selection than Ive seen anywhere. I live in WA now but visited Top Drawer as often as possible when I lived in Austin.

This place is pretty good sometimes. Wouldnt call it thrift. Some of the items are not really hand picked ... they look like they may be donated. Nice atmosphere and selection though. Constantly new inventory.

Very clean and well organize but extremely over priced for all the outdated clothing and kitchenware. Every nice item in this place is priced like it belongs in an antique store, not a thrift store.
