PetSmart has pretty much everything you need for general pet care. Their prices on new aquariums are very competitive (keep your eyes open for holiday sales!), but their basic reptile, small mammal, and fish supplies are extremely over priced. I cant believe the price of frozen feeder mice there! I also wish the live fish section had more variety. The nearest local fish stores often get new kinds of fish with every shipment, so while the standard fish are always there you can always find something different too. On the bright side, the PetSmart 14-day health guarantee on all pets is very lenient. I buy fish from them regularly and every now and then one (and rarely a large proportion of the newest batch) dies in the first few days. Ive never had a problem getting my money back or exchanging the dead fish. PetSmart does not sell cats or puppies, and that is a very good thing. Instead, PetSmart partners with local adoption agencies to rehome shelter animals at no profit to the store. GOOD FOR THEM. They also allow shelters to run adoption events in the store or in their parking lot; the one in Brownsville has adoption events almost every weekend. I shop at PetSmart regularly, but strongly prefer finding a good local pet store in which to do business if I can find one that is run ethically. Unfortunately there are no other pet stores in Brownsville so PetSmart gets pretty much all my business when I would rather just give them half of it.

Maybe I went on a bad day, the power flickered but all other businesses in the same plaza that experienced it did not close for any time period. This place closed for 20 min which turned to hours...what an inconvenient thing to do...and have NO clue how long they would be closed for? The inside is a bit cramped...someones pet peed on the floor and I do not think the employees noticed or did anything about it for a while. It was there for the time I spent in line...and there were enough employees to have noticed and did something about it. But nothing was done. Maybe I will stick to Walmart, Target and TJ Maxx for my kittys needs... This is the only Pet store in town that I know of...

I WENT TO PETSMART THINKING THEY WHERE DOG LOVING AND CARING . BUT I WAS WRONG . I TOOK MY THREE DOGS TO GET GROOMED AND THEY DIDNT SMELL BAD I JUST CAME TO VISIT FAMILY FROM ATX AND I WANTED THEM TO CLEAN AND FRESH WHEN I WOULD BRING THEM TO THE HOUSE WHEN I RECIEVED MY DOG THEY SMELLED HORRIBLE THE SHAVED THEM AND WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO IN ADDITION THEY TOOK 6 HRS!!!! AND THE MANAGER THERE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! TOGETHER WITH EMPLOYEES THAT SEEM THEY ARE TARDS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE NO BS THEY ARE BAD AND NON CARING AND PLEASE LOVE YOUR DOGS AND STAY AWAY FROM THE GROOMING THERE. THANK YOU !!

Really good store. Petsmart has a very wide variety of pets and pet food/ pet supplies. The employees are EXTREMELY friendly. SOME of the employees arent that knowledgeable about what they are selling to you, but if you are going to buy a pet you should have done your research before getting it. I have heard the groomers arent that good at what they do, but I dont know (I never groom my dog there). Most of the time only one register is open though. Overall Petsmart is an exellent store. Your pets will surely be happy.

My dog is very picky when it comes to who could bathe him (he growls at people when he knows hes getting a bath) but I never had a problem coming here and they are super friendly. You can bring your pet to shop with you, there is plenty of stuff for all kinds of pets with plenty of brands to choose from, and the check out lines are fast and speedy. What I love most about this place is that they team up with the animal shelter and you can adopt! Great place! 5 stars mang!

I live in harlingen wanted to get both my dogs groomed but they were booked so i took them to brownsville and they came back to me with nots on the moms belly they didnt even smell good they still smelled a bit dirty as if they put them in a cage with a big dirty dog...I was very dissapointed and I will never go back there again my dogs came back the same way the went ..Harlingens petsmart it way better

The store staff are great. Always eager to help...the groomers, well they need more training on how to cut dog/puppy hair. Ive gone twice and thats about it for me with them. Today he got the worst haircut I have ever seen. They literally took a chunk of hair near his whiskers off. It was so uneven, terrible. My puppy was was scared and rubbing/scratching at his face for the rest of the evening.

Sold use a guinea pig starter kit and when the water dispenser turned out defective the morning manager stated will switch out ruined bedding and the dispenser... get the in the afternoon and Sahara the small animals dept manager only offered to switch the water bottle... mind you we live in Harlingen ... never coming here again

CONSISTENTLY AWESOME GROOMING AND FRIENDLY STAFF!!! :) Ive been taking my dogs to the grooming salon for 2 years now. My dogs always come back looking and smelling great! I also have many friends who take their dogs there and love taking their dogs there as well! The staff is always friendly!I Highly recommend it! :)

I take my dog to get her nails done here. Takes a good ten minutes even if they arent busy. The staff is friendly but not really knowledgeable. Update: 2017 overpriced and the place smells. The staff is friendly, but young kids work here and really know nothing about pets. I know more about animals than they do.

Ive been taking my English bulldog for grooming for almost 3 months now, theyve done a great job cleaning him in all the sensitive areas, I also have my own aquarium setup business in which I constantly need to go by for supplies, the staff is always available and knowledgable

Staff is pretty helpful. They always have what I am looking for. I dont use the grooming services there because they stated my dogs were aggressive and were not able to get near them but yet they were able to bring me my dogs when I went to go pick them up with no incident.

Why are the grooming prices for my dogs determined on their breed? If I have a pure bred she costs more to groom than my lovable rescue pound puppy who looks pure bred but isnt. Hmmm. They do a good job though.

I frequently come here to purchase reptile supplies and juicy crickets for my precious bearded dragon. He has never complained. This store has a great selection of fish if youre into those kind of pets.

It was clean and easy to get to but there was only one cashier open and the line was very long and the wait was incredibly long. Im disabled and standing for a long time is very painful.
