Went in at 8:45 (I dont have a 8-5 job). Was buying mealworms and talking with the reptile department about different habitats for my bearded dragon, who was very helpful. However, the manager on shift, Veronica, came over and told us to get what We are going to get and go to the register because they close in 5 minutes. We asked for small mealworms, she said "they are over there go get one, hurry up". I opened the first container, all carcuses. So I was going through the tubs trying to find at least on that were alive. She came back over, "what is taking you so long just pick one up and go to the counter". :( I was so upset, yet did not say anything, Im going to go talk with the manager this morning. I understand how businesses work and know its frustrating when you have to stay late, but I am a general manager of a major franchise and my customers are who signs my check not the company. The lost a $300 purchase because of that one manager. And any further purchases will not be spent at petco. Extremely dissatisfied.

Petco helped me out when I got 3 guinea pigs that needed a home and one of them was pregnant and I didnt know exactly what to do didnt have room at my home so I ask one of the checkers and they said that they took pets in and rehome them and Marilyn was seriously pregnant and they took care of her and got her healthy which I had had her for about a week getting her healthy and helped her get back on her feet and she just had the most beautiful babies and now I feel like it a wonderful Foster grandma because theyre taking good care of her and she had beautiful babies and theyre healthy so they will be up for adoption and Petco and I dont know two months or something whatever the time requires but they have been so good to take care of the other two they found homes for them they were fostered out I think within a week the people there are loving and caring about animals thank you very much. Last night I drove across town like a maniac to get to this store before it closed. I got there 5 minutes before closing (7:55 by my watch, phone, and car radio) only to see the manager locking the doors early. He saw me running across the parking lot to get in and continued to lock the doors. The worst part was, that he smiled at my amused-like. Im not sure if he was grinning because he got caught or because he thought I looked like an idiot. They had already stacked alot of merchandise in the foyer behind the automatic doors. It was clear they hadnt been accepting customers for some time. No big deal, it just bothered me that not only did they close early, but he laughed at me for getting hosed by it. Not sure when Ill go back in here. But other than this incident, theyve generally been helpful.

I have used Petco for 5 plus years. I have a Husky/lab mix he’s 5. I get him groomed every 2 months. I have always used Petco where ever I have lived (Husband in Navy), I love their products and prices. This Waco Petco is horrible! The staff is unprofessional, the groomer acted like she didn’t know what she was doing. The only things I need done with my dog is a bath, blow-dry and brushed out. I only got a bath. He had clumps of hair coming off of him. And he was still wet when I picked him up 2 hours later. There were no other clients in the salon when I dropped him off and picked him up. It’s pure laziness on her part. Once again I love Petco. But this Waco location has just lost my business. $76.86 is way too much for just a bath and brush!

Their dog training classes are great for showing you how to ask for basic tricks (not unlike YouTube), but not great at any kind of behavior modification or what I would consider real training. It is a bit of a cheaper option, but a waste of money as youll need to purchase a more expensive package elsewhere if your dog has real issues that need to be resolved. I could have given the same dog training courses I got to someone else before I took them. You can be qualified to be hired as a dog trainer here after taking one course. While its "guaranteed" in that you can retake the course if you feel it was unsuccessful, definitely not quality training. Taking it over again will not help.

I dont know if they need new management or what but Im pretty frustrated with the lack of customer assistance. Every time I need help i cant find ANYONE but the cashier. In June I came to get a cat tree (four months pregnant) waited over twenty minutes all while also keeping an eye out for a passing employee and nothing. Today I couldnt find a single person to assist me with flea and tick prevention, not sure why you have 5 different preventatives advertised when the shelves are completely stocked with only three brands. Also I own ferrets, I know theyre stubborn but when three walls of the enclosure is PILED up with feces its just wrong..

Wow! Came down from Houston this weekend & my puppy needed a serious grooming! We called around & if they werent closed they were booked. I contacted Petco & DeeDee answered the phone so eloquently! She booked us for an appointment & said my dog was her first real client. Cant lie I was nervous but I trusted her! Needless to say DeeDee OVERCEEDED my expectations! Rocko looks sooooooooo freaking great! DeeDee is awesome! Shes so sweet & kind! She genuinely loves your pet! Anytime were in Waco well definitely get him groomed at Petco! Dont hesitate to take your dog in!

I went to Petco Animal Supplies to find out more about what buying a Corn Snake would mean. I ran into a man, named Trenton, who was cleaning out a frog habitat and started to talk to him. He let me hold the snakes and explained what breeds were more docile or agitated. He then started recommending other types of snakes like the Kenyan Sand Boa. He also went into very fine detail about habitat/terrarium layout and size. He was very helpful and knowledgable. I very much like the Waco Petco and am definitely going to se them as my pet supplier.

I visited this Petco for only the second time today. I was on a mission for a new fish, particularly a betta. I have to say, their bettas were some of the healthiest bettas Ive ever seen in any pet store Ive entered. Most of the cups had clear water, none seemed lethargic, and they had an amazing selection. I chose a beautiful, active Koi male & he is currently doing very well in his tank. Amazingly clean store, all of the habitats seemed to be clean, and everyone looked well cared for. A+ Petco team! I will be shopping with them again.

This location has been under new management over the last 6 months and what a difference!!! This store is full of compassionate animal lovers that are just obviously CRAZY about all animals! Its clean and actually smells good when you walk in! They have a top notch grooming salon and awesome dog trainers as well! I will definitely support this store with a 5 star review!
