On May 28, 2013 my mother took our dog, Ivori, to Petco in Temple, TX to be groomed. When she went back to pick her up and they brought her out she noticed our baby had two large lumps over her left eye, as well as swelling, bruising and contusions over the bridge of her nose. My mother immediately addressed her concerns to the grooming manager, Jaime, whom usually grooms her but passed her on to the bather, Rachel, because she was overbooked. Although Jaime was apologetic, she acknowledged the fact that our baby did not arrive that way but offered no answers. She did, however, suggest my mother take her to their preferred vet (Temple Veterinary Hospital) for an examination and let her know the visit would be covered. But, before they would release Ivori to her for care she had to pay for the grooming bill first, and then she would be refunded the cost when she returned. She was APPAULED but complied so that Ivori could receive the medical attention she needed. My mother immediately notified us of the incident and we rushed to meet them at the hospital. By the time we got there my mother and Ivori had already been seen by the veterinarian. When we arrived we were in disbelief at the size of the lumps, and then we noticed that Ivori was really quite dazed and aloof - not our typical happy princess. According to Dr. Gary L. Gosney, Ivoris lumps were in fact "hematomas that were apparently caused by blunt force trauma from someone hitting or striking her about the head and crest of eye." He prescribed her anti-inflammatories and gave her an injection for immediate pain relief and inflammation. We all returned to Petco to address our concerns to Jaime and the store manager, and find out what happened. The store manager, David, vehemently denied any wrong doing by suggesting that our baby "mustve hit her own head on the kennel" and that "Rachel wouldnt hurt a fly... Shes too sweet." Really? Our beloved Ivori wouldnt hurt a fly... Shes too sweet AND gentle! He displayed disdainful, blatant disrespect to my mother and me when we asked if there were cameras in the back. He said no and continuously placed blame on Ivori stating, "She did it to herself," as if our princess would ever - could ever inflict wounds upon herself. Why would she especially since this had never occurred before? David continued to deny ANY responsibility on Petcos and Rachels behalf even after Jaime showed my mother the kennel where Ivori was held - it was the same size as she. Prior to leaving David refunded our money, and then we stopped to thank Jaime for her honesty and professionalism. However, Rachel hasnt apologized for her gross misconduct and abuse to our sweetheart of a dog, nor have we received an apology from David. I am frustrated with how Petco grossly mishandled this situation after all; our five-year-old baby girl was abused while under their care that is UNACCEPTABLE! Ive reported them to the police and I am pressing charges for animal cruelty. My advice, go elsewhere for your grooming and pet needs!!!!

Recently I started using this store because of its proximity to my home. Compared to where I typically shop for my pet, I felt as though the dog food selection was minimal & unfairly overpriced. As a local business owner myself, I understand these things can be out of their control. So, while I can get over the prices, I was astonished by the lack of professionalism & extremely unwelcoming & unfriendly behavior of the staff. This morning after my interaction with a very unpleasant associate named Kristen, I decided that I will take my business back to Petsmart, & additionally recommend my employees & clients to do the same.

Won free pet training & when I arrived to the classes he told me he couldnt have class with only me & my dog because I wasnt considered a "paying customer" (no one else had shown). Contacted the manager who said he would address the problem, not sure if he actually did though. Prices are so much more expensive than Pet Smart and the employees attitudes are terrible. PetSmart is the place to go...avoid PetCo at all costs!

Sandy or Sadie is the rudest person I have ever encountered. She threatened to not sell my husband a fish. she did, we placed it in the car (in cold water) for 5 mins, followed us to ice cream, then she cussed my husband for fish abuse. Police said there is no such thing. She claimed it was just like child abuse. Not only is was she harassing us but was also on the clock. Trashy place.

Worst customer service I have ever had. I will NOT go back. They have lots of good stuff but it is almost impossible to get help, and if you do, they are disrespectful and rude. I have been trying to use them with my pet needs for years and not once have I been treated respectfully. If you are trying to establish pet care and have questions, dont go here.

I have taking my pets to Petco since they opened here in Temple. They have had groomers that are really good and few not so good. But currently the new manager of the grooming dept. is one of the good ones. She always does an excellent job and will groom my babies just the way I want them done. I would recommend Petco to any of my friends and family.

Way over priced. My brand of dog food is $10 more at PETCO than it is at PETSMART. Their worming medicine was 15.99 I found it elsewhere for 50% less. If you have to have it, they will probably have it in stock but they are going to gouge your wallet.

Went to this location in the evening on August 30th. The woman working up front seemed tired and had quite an attitude with most customers. Im sure she was having a rough day, but I know most people in the line were uncomfortable.

Clean and wide selection of many food for all small animals, but they are very pricey as well. Some items are bogo but not enoughh. You can also be part of their rewards prigram.
