The store has a variety of supplies and pets for sale. Its clean and the Banfield Veterinarian service is very good for a reasonable price. The grooming service has declined not only in customer service but the quality of service provided for your pet. In the last four years Ive spent a lot of money treating my dog to a day at the Spa, getting bathed, nails done, ears cleaned and teeth brushed for somewhat of a fair price but the last time I took my pet she seemed to be depressed when I got her home, not sure if she was mistreated however it was unusual behavior for her to say the least and then today I took her to get the same services provided and ended up taking her out of there very upset. Its hard enough getting an appointment with these folks, maybe thats why the quality of service been slowly degrading, they just dont need the amount of volume coming through there anymore. When I took my dog in today, there was a whole new team of personnel, only one of the employees was familiar to me. The young girl whom scheduled my dog made a remarks as I walked into the store that she was hoping to get off early but since I showed up it didnt look like it was going to happen. When she took my dog she seemed timid and afraid of her, my dog is a Sheppard Husky mixed, very, very loving and friendly, however she took my dog off my leash and put her on a choker. I noticed she was gagging from being choked by the employee and they asked me to leave because my dog was crying and didnt want me to leave, I walked out and then back in because they called me. The girl stated my dog tried to bite her, I told her I highly doubt it, I told the the fact that they didnt use gentle leader was the problem but they said they arent authorized to use gentle leaders....they used them every other time in the past not sure why today was different. They used a choker and caused my dog to gag from being choked and that was why she reacted the way she did I explained but they told me to leave. I wont bring my dog back, I took my dog immediately from the unskilled :new" employee and will not go utilize their grooming service ever again.

My husband and I shopped exclusively at PetSmart for over 10 years. We moved from VA Beach one year ago. The stores there were spotty about keeping items in stock, but we were fortunate to have multiple locations within our area. Since moving to Williamsburg, we had only this one store. This PetSmart is the worst at keeping items in stock. We used to purchase their brand of cat litter (Exquisicat) exclusively, and at one point had 3 cats and a dog. You can imagine the money we spent at PetSmart. More often than not, they were out of the litter completely, or only had the scented type. We spoke to more than one associate and store manager about this issue, and were given various different responses. They also regularly run out of canned dog foods, dog treats, and other items that we frequently purchased. Sometimes we would find a helpful and knowledgeable employee who assisted us on one occasion, but when we went back the next time, there was someone else who was of no help. They seem to have a lot of turnover in the store, so asking for the same person didnt really help. Many of the sales associates are very friendly and try to help (which is why I gave the store 2 stars, rather than 1). But theres something wrong at the top management level. It doesnt seem like it should be that difficult to keep an inventory of merchandise in stock. We now buy most of our pet supplies at Petco.

Let me 1st say, I have been a customer of per smart for many years and never experienced this type of staff interaction before yesterday. The manager was called to the front by the cashier for a price check, the manager went to check and my daughter followed to show her where we got the item in question, their was a stack of them above this tag, not just one, my daughter and i checked the ID number on the item against the ID number on the clearance tag, and they matched. So we expected the manager would do the same, but .... instead she stated, that is not the tag for those beds, they are very expensive orthopedic beds, she walked to the other end , pointed at a tag and said here is the tag for those and...turned and walked away. She did not at any point communicate back with the cashier and left us all standing at the register waiting. The cashier stated shes not usually like that, maybe shes having a bad day. I have 8 animals in my home and I drive 55 miles to go here, but I will no longer spend my money at PET Smart. I hope that she has a better day and treats the customers who pay her salary better than she did myself and her cashier. Sherry

Hello, I visited this store in november of this year. Only to be made to feel like less of a person! I inquired about the fish and proceeded to order five bala sharks for my home as well as Three mollies, and the sales associate told me" well, not that its about your skin color, but why do y'all need so many fish in one tank?", I started to immediately call the corporate office and asked them to record the conversation as well as I had started recording the conversation. Well the discrimination continued, when I get to the register the lady writes no guarantee on my receipt. I feel this store is very prejudice and my services will never again be at this store. And to top it off its now dec, 27 and I have yet to be reached by any one as far a manager or corporate individual. I called three times and made reports and easch time they claim ill be called back in 48 hours. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau as well as contacted the NAACP. And I will be filing charges against williamsburg, petsmart. I encurage all african americans to not give them the satisfaction of purchasing anything from this company. Thanks;)

I have dogs and cats, so that is what I notice when I go here. If you have something other than a dog and cat, this review wont help you. Lots of things in the store these days. The food prices arent bad and if you go with the preorder route and have them ship to store and you pickup, you can save a bit of money on dog food. I wish we could find more sources for dog toys and treats other than china. I have seen too many dogs damaged by China made products. I do buy cloth toys from PetSmart and wash them before giving to my dogs and so far so good. They do have some treats where the treat is from America and was made in America. Be careful as some treats could be made in America from foreign sourced chicken or beef. PetSmart has been good about taking back items when we noticed the label. We did make sure that the treats were not opened when we took them back. The staff have helped us find many different things in the store, although during times when they have more than two registers going it can be a challenge finding staff on the floor.
