My wifes Pontiac died and we needed a new car pretty quick. I went here for a Mazda she had seen used online, but ended up finding a used Hyundai that was at a great price and just worked better for my wifes needs. I went there with my 2 kids, who were thankfully well behaved to test drive while my wife was at work. They have a nice waiting area too with TVs and snacks, and the kids enjoyed some chips. Voltech was the sales person I met with, a very nice guy and came along on 2 test drives, the Mazda were first looked at, and then the Hyundai. He was patient while I loaded the car seats and kids in the car, and very friendly and helped keep an eye on them too. This was Friday, but I couldnt make any decision without the Mrs, and we wanted to shop around a little more. Well, Saturday we went out shopping without the kids. We had a pretty rough experience at another dealership, they were unprofessional, distracted, the sales guy disappeared for a long time, the car we test drove had some issues even though it wasnt that old, and they just didnt seem interested in getting to know us or what we needed to offer other suggestions, options. While the guy was away my wife was like "I dont like this place, it feels shady right?" I was already thinking the same thing so we took off. I had already received a follow up call from Voltech that morning, and truly I liked him and the whole dealership, and that car enough that before going to any other place I just wanted my wife to see this car. We had done a lot of research online, so we knew what was available in our price range. Voltech was busy at that time with another customer, but he got the car ready, had one of the Valets come along with us for the test drive, and he was a nice guy too! Well, she loved it (do I know my wife or what? haha). Everyone at the dealership, even other sales people, even managers we just chatted with at different points while waiting, were really nice and helpful. They look you in the eye. Frank came over while we finalized our deal and he was a very sweet man. I remember him from the day before because he came over to me just to say I was doing a good job with the kids. He even talked about his grandkids. I mean, service with a smile to say the least. It wasnt aggressive, it never felt sleazy, they listened, they gave us a good deal, and I would recommend them to anyone. I cant say enough great things. Sorry this is so long, but car buying can be VERY stressful, and these guys made it easy. Maybe the next car will be a Mazda, but I know Ill be going back for sure!

Let me preempt this review by saying it is entirely to do with their sales department. I have no experiences with their service department. I also feel as though its important to include this at the top - they are bribing their customers for 5 star reviews. You will probably find more honest reviews elsewhere. Cally, Mark, Dave, and Jim. These are the employees from whom I tried to purchase a car. It started with Cally agreeing with me on a final OTD price. Twice via email, once over the phone. Then Mark and Dave each called separately and I confirmed the price with them. Upon arriving to pick up the car, it was clear the car was not even ready, despite the fact that I had set an appointment days in advance. Then, Mark comes over and says that the final OTD price was NOT the final price, and they needed to add on two fees, and nothing could be done. Then Jim comes over, saying theres nothing he can do. 15 minutes later? Surprise! There is something he can do and he waives ONE of the (smaller) fees. Then he gives me a coupon book and asks that in return I give him a positive review online. Mark does the same, multiple times. This is the reason you are seeing so many 5 star reviews here, they are attempting to bribe their customers. Take other reviews with a grain of salt. Youll get more honest reviews elsewhere, as they are specifically asking for 5 star google reviews. 2 hours after my arrival the car is finally ready and we go out to inspect it. Car looks good so we go in to buy the car, but I have to wait another hour. 3 hours to buy a car I had already agreed on buying, for a price that I was clearly lied to about, from a place I will never again visit. Then, after I send them a private review response, Cally harasses me via email & phone over the course of a day. A day later I speak with the manager. He says he wants to look into the issues, requests that I give him copies of the emails & receipts (which I do) and hell get back to me. Its been weeks, and I havent heard back. This is a joke of an establishment. They are no different than any other car dealership. They check all the boxes when it comes to all the negative things youve heard about car salesmen & women. Do not waste your time.

THERE IS A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING! I am a 1st Time customer at Open Road Mazda of East Brunswick, but not a last! This marks the 1st I walked out of a dealership with a deal in less than an hour! By choice, I picked up my new 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring with the Technology Package 3-days later as promised. Our salesman, Brian Trainor, was unpretentious, conscientious, and forthright; everything you would want from a car salesman which is very hard to find these days. The dealerships General Manager, Leo Angelicola, was just a downright nice guy. NO BS! He came over to the salesman’s desk spoke "with" me and not "to" me, call me over to his office, put all the figures into their lease calculator, turned the screen towards me so that I was able to see exactly how he was pricing the vehicle along with each and every item that was affecting the price of the lease. This is another 1st for me! The “team” of both Brain and Leo are unbeatable! Open Road is now my NUMBER ONE CHOICE dealership in New Jersey. Every salesman we dealt with in the past has always given us a price; then walked into the sales manager’s office and come back with another figure. Then it would be back-n-forth for hours upon hours (which could even go on for days upon days) which became a very aggravating and unpleasant experience – but NOT at Open Road Mazda! I highly recommend BOTH Brian and if you get the opportunity to shake Leos hand and meet "the man" you wont regret it! We must also applaud David, as he was also amazing. I walked into his office, signed all the paperwork, passed a few jokes back-n-forth and I was out of there in less than 20-minutes! (Another amazing feat by another genuine person) One last item to note; EVERYONE at the dealership was pleasant and nice; to other salesman that were concerned that I was not being helped to the Sales Manager (who was out when I got the opportunity to deal with Leo, the Manager). The showroom, albeit small, is almost completely redone and I am sure it will be nice once it is fully completed. Not to forget mention, I was offered coffee & soft drinks on 6-7 different occasions while I was there! Outstanding Customer Service!
