went to addictions with my husband. He wanted a tattoo. So, while I was waiting for him I decided I wanted to get my industrial done. The lady at the front desk suggested I choose a flexible bar to put in, as it would aid in the healing process and be custom sized just for my ear. Sounded great. about 3 weeks later i went in and had my tragus done. It never really felt like it was healing. This last Saturday my husband and I went to the coast for a weekend get away. We went to a tattoo and piercing studio in Newport. Initially we went in to see about getting my husbands tattoos touched up. The ones he got at Addictions. very poorly done and one of them had to be treated for staph. We got him squared away. I asked the piercing tech to look at my tragus. He stated it looked "angry" and asked me where I got it done. I gave him the info and he didnt sound or look the least bit surprised. When you give your customers the deal of "free piercing with purchase of jewelry" you obviously arent getting good jewelry. That obviously should have been my first clue to run away. Not having much experience in the piercing world, I trusted I was going to get a great service and product regardless of the "deal" I was getting. He begged me to allow him to change the jewelry in the tragus, promising me that it would feel and look 10x better in a week. I agreed. When he pulled the jewelry out of my ear the post was, no kidding, black. Having been in medicine for 13 years I am very clean and followed cleaning procedures given by the piercing tech at addictions to a T. The tech at this place in newport assured me it was all due to the jewelry. Then I asked him about my industrial. Here is where it gets fun. He told me it would be in my best interest to just take it out completely. Not only was it not done correctly, the angle was way off to allow any non-flexible jewelry to even look right, and not make my ear look funny, BUT the flexible jewelry they used at the time of the piercing was illegal in the state of Oregon because it is externally threaded. My tragus is 100x better in just 3 days and my new piercing from the tech in Newport is beautiful and he did an amazing job at a much more technical piercing. I will never even step foot in this place again. Even if they do start adhering to Oregon State Law. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I would hope people read this review and learn from my mistakes.

We went into Addictions a few weeks ago to get my 7 yr old daughters ears pierced. We wanted a trained, knowledgable piercer and not a part-time sales associate at Claires who took a short class on how to use a piercing gun. Bree at the counter was super friendly, checked us in and talked to us about the different styles / materials of earrings they had in stock. Lots of options to choose from! She talked us into upgrading to titanium studs and we are so glad she did - no twisting of the needed and super easy to care for which is a must with a younger child for sure. She made us feel welcome the second we walked in. Aaron was our piercer and he made my daughter feel comfortable the entire visit. He let her know what he was doing at all times so there were no surprises. They use sharp, sterile needles each time and mark the ears prior so you can determine your perfect positioning. With a deep breath in and out, each ear was quickly pierced and there was ZERO TEARS from my daughter! Afterwards, Aaron gave us detailed instructions on how to care for her piercings and answered all of our questions. Bree was lovely enough to give my daughter and the friend that came with her popsicles for being so brave <3 I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for quality service (and am pretty sure I will be back whe I finally gather the courage to get my own nose pierced!)

My experience at addictions was great from the start! I went in the day before with a picture of what I wanted done. My artist, Chad, was very knowledgeable about tattoos - especially what I wanted done (a celtic father daughter knot). He gave me suggestions of different things that may look better than others - overall, his input was key in forming the tattoo that I was envisioning. The girl at the front desk was also very friendly and helpful (dont remember her name). My tattoo turned out exactly how I wanted, exactly how Chad and I had talked about. Chad did an incredible job and I wouldnt have wanted anybody else to have done my tattoo! Hes genuinely nice, caring, helpful and knowledgeable about his profession. The tattoo studio is clean, upstairs in the lobby and downstairs where the tattoos are done. Its a calm atmosphere that made it comfortable to get a tattoo done. Not sketchy whatsoever! I highly recommend Addictions for anyone looking to get a tattoo! My first time tattooing experience was AMAZING and I definitely plan to go back there. :)

I have been coming to Addictions for years. I have had my nose pierced, multiple tattoos large and small and now permanent cosmetics. I cannot stress enough how amazing all these experienced have been. The environment is fun and relaxing. It is more sterile than a hospital. The safety precautions are extremely important to them and also to me as a client. In addition they use the latest technology for quick and safe healing of your tattoo. Aftercare is thoroughly explained and you leave with everything you need. They are always available if you have additional questions as well. Many people I know have tried other shops and been disappointed that their tattoos dont heal well or they have extreme fading. This Ill not be the case at Addictions. The compliments I have received on the precision of my tattoos and my permanent cosmetics speak volumes to the abilities of the artists at Addictions. I am thankful that they are who I trust to make a permanent addition to my body.

The actual piercing & the guys who do it are GREAT! However, the customer service is totally lacking. We dropped by to get my daughters nose pierced & the wait was crazy long, so we made an appt for the next day so we wouldnt have to wait. We got the first appt slot of the day (Not the 1st open slot...we were told they dont start taking appts until 12:30 so we took the 12:30 slot & were told we would be the first appt of the day) so there was NO chance theyd be running behind schedule & we got there 10 mins early so wed have plenty of time to fill out paperwork. It took them over an hour just to get her back into the room AND They took people back before her - even a lady that came in after we were already there & waiting! They had 3 or 4 people scheduled for the same slot as us & only 1 piercer working! Whats the point of booking appts if youre not actually going to follow the schedule???

Dont get an industrial here. They didnt pierce both parts at the same angle, so after six months when I switched to the barbell, it couldnt conform to the natural shape of my ear despite being the right length. So within a few days it migrated to the point it couldnt be saved. Hurts now, too. I was careful with the barbell. I used a 16G solid titanium one since thats the material and size of the studs that were in for the healing process. I made sure it had just the right length. I cleaned it daily after changing it. Its not my fault this happened. If it had been pierced at the right angle in the first place, this all couldve been avoided. At least they used sanitized stuff. It wouldve been fine for a single piercing, but you cant trust them to line up 2 that have to match.
