We had an outstanding experience with Two Danes. It was one of the least pushy furniture places we went to--some reviews have indicated that the owners ignored them, but it was SUCH a relief for my husband and I to be able to peruse the store without being followed around by a sales associate. About 30 minutes into our wandering, someone asked us if we needed anything, showed us to a section we hadnt looked at yet, and then left again. This was PERFECT for us, because we do not make decisions quickly, and a bed is a big purchase for us. Once we had made a decision, I found the owner and let her know we were interested in the bed, but our concern was that we had originally wanted a bed with storage drawers underneath. The bed that was in our price range, and which we loved, didnt have any. She said it was no problem, they would add drawers for an extra $150. Done! We were thrilled. We purchased the bed on the spot. We couldnt arrange delivery that day, so we called early the next week and set it up over the phone. It was wonderful--they gave us an hour window for delivery and showed up EXACTLY on time! It was so convenient I was able to come home and supervise delivery on my lunch break. When the delivery guys noticed that there were some slight variations between the two sides of the bed, they went ahead and set it up so we could use it, but came back two days later with a replacement side so they would be identical--we would never have noticed, but thats how careful they are! We will absolutely be going back--they do have a lot of expensive things, but they have some real reasonably priced gems as well, and their amazing service has made us customers for life.

Maybe our enthusiasm for 2 Danes was partly due to the fact that our company had also imported European products and the quality of the German and Scandinavian products was incredible. Most of the furniture in our house came from 2 Danes. The Ekornes sofas -- FIVE of them! -- came from 2 Danes. The oldest one may be 15 years old and it "sits" and feels and looks brand new. The expanding circular dining room table is more than great looking -- its useful! We have inexpensive party chairs that we can haul out of a closet for choir parties and family brawls and the chairs are very light and durable and they LOOK great. I could go on but if you like contemporary design, I think youd be crazy to buy furniture anywhere else.

They have a very cold and unwelcoming atmosphere. I agree that forcing a sale is rude, but ignoring you altogether is even worse. I had to initiate the conversation, but I do give them 2 stars instead of 1 since the woman there was at least a little courteous and actually responded to me. The man/manager next to her wouldnt even look at me or say hello, even though I paid them both a compliment on how well put together the store was. So even though they do have some very nice furniture, it overall feels like youre treated as a commoner, and not fit for their store.

I went to 2danes after reading the reviews thinking that it would be a nice place to buy some furniture. Upon walking in, no one spoke to me or greeted me. They took one look at me (there were 3 0r 4 employees) and kept doing what ever is was that they up to. I expressed interest in a couch (i sat on it, expected it, looked at price) and still no one approached me. I was in the store twenty minutes and decided to leave. They next day I called up to the store and spoke to a manager about what had happened and he didnt seem to care.

I searched over four years for the perfect sofa bed and found it on sale at 2 Danes. Everyone in the store was so cheerful, helpful and friendly. It was delivered on time as promised. It is the most comfortable sofa I have ever owned. I have difficulty taking naps but I fell asleep on my new sofa! My guests love the sofa bed mattress made of high quality memory foam. The furniture selection in the store were the best pieces Ive ever seen. I highly recommend 2 Danes! Pam Miller Lebanon, TN

Spanish Lessons

I dont remember any sale associate ignoring us or anything. My husband and I loved going to that store. They were attentive to our needs. We bought a fantastic travertine table. Overall their furniture is chic and unique.
