Friday, bought $45 worth of liquor. Some issue with the debit card, cashier had me swipe the card a couple times. The next day, Saturday, looked at my checking account and there were 11, yes 11, charges on hold from Daveco... 11 times $45 equal $495 on hold in my account. Screws up the weekend when all your money is on hold for one purchase at a liquor store. I printed a copy of the holds, went to Daveco, spoke the manager.... he said he double checked and the issue was not with Daveco, it must have been the bank??? huh??/ the bank puts money on hold from purchases... not how it works Daveco. So I get to spend the weekend WAITING to see if the holds fall off my account and have NO money. Daveco sucks in customer service... I got an excuse and a oh sorry it happened. I just suggest everyone double, triple check you accounts for extra charges... dont worry, the extra charges will be done by your bank NOT Daveco....

This is my boyfriend and my first time coming to this liquor store since being 21, and as Im walking in I see a couple with a teenage boy with booze in hand. Upon check out, we realize that my boyfriend forgot his wallet at home, but I had my ID and money. My boyfriend, being the sweet man he is, gave me the $10 of cash he had is in pocket. The cashier saw this, and assumed he was an under aged minor with me and I was buying booze for him. I understand there may be a policy in place (Im obviously new to being of age, and dont know all of this yet), but I cant believe they are selling to a couple with a teenager in the liquor store, but not the of age people. We tried explaining the situation as stated before, but she took the beer from my hands and placed it under her counter. This is the first and last time I will be at Daveco Liquors. P.S. Just moved to the area from Boulder and not at all impressed with this place. They advertise wine tasting on Fridays and Saturdays, but apparently only during "busy" or "peak" months, aka not in January when I was last in. Seriously?? Youd think the "largest liquor store in the world" could afford enough staff to hold year round wine tasting for a few hours on the days they advertise. This place needs to take cue from Hazels and North Boulder Liquor, whose weekly free wine/beer/spirits tasting events are top notch..yes even during the doldrums of January and February. Further, under beer specials on the website the majority of sale items listed are Coors, Bud, Miller Lite, and Busch. Again, seriously?? Do we not live in CO? What a joke. Will happily drive the 25 minutes back to Boulder for my drink needs.

Huge selection, just about anything you want although the wine not shelved is hard to look through and doesnt seem to be in any particular order. I give 4 stars because I asked for someone who was knowledgeable about scotch and they sent over a guy who I think was the owner. I asked about the really expensive scotch in the locked case. He didnt know the difference if any from those or the ones on the shelf. He kept trying to read the box through the case, just unlock it so we can read the box. Finally he asked a younger guy to help, who looked them up on line. I was surprised to find out the $200 bottle of single malt wasnt, it was a blend of older and younger. Bought 2 bottles of actual single malt off the shelf and spent less.

If you do not have grey hair they will not serve you well. My wife and I stopped here, I went in to get some wine, while she waited in the car with the kids. When I get to the counter they ask for my ID. No problem to show my ID however, when I present the only form of payment in pocket, my wifes card, I am denied service. "The last name matches and she is in the car if you care to ask her", I say. Yet still they deny service and, I am paraphrasing here, Because youre 27 we assume youre lying and could be buying for minors. Never again will you see me in this place.

Okay, i understand the need to card under 40, but i am 49, have a half white beard, and come in 3 times a week! I was just told by a very rude little woman that she cant sell to me and wouldnt even if i brought my license in!!! I asked to talk to a manager and she refused and told me to leave. Need to hire better people guys...just lost a $5000+ a year customer to competition because of an incompetent employee.

Ask me if had drank before I came in because he thought the twelve pack I was buying was leaking, and then wouldnt sell it to me because I answered honestly. I understand if its a law, but you cant bait someone into a question like that. Not an okay way to handle business. Never coming back here again...

Like what other reviews mentioned. Not a lot of sales compared to Total Beverage. But they do have a good selection of imports its just unfortunately too pricey. Shouldnt be a big deal but it does add up. Overall theyre usually my go to for booze because they always have stock.

If you guys had Mangria I will give excellent. Been here for a few months spent a bunch of money here. It is truly a Wally World for liquor there is so much selection your just gonna throw things in the cart. Heck if anything come to the biggest of its kind in the world

Higher than average prices unless it is on sale, clearance bins have solid selection of wines and liquor, and they carry a solid selection of craft beer from the area (but nothing out of the ordinary). I liked the selection, but probably wont go out of my way to go here.

We love Daveco! Not only do they have a huge selection and great prices, but the owners are amazing, generous people! Were glad theyre the ones serving this areas celebratory needs! Cant wait to go to a free tasting!

Solid regular prices, but not a lot of weekly sales like Total Beverage runs. Better prices on some things, worse on others but overall really great selection and less scuzzy than Total Beverage

The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I give this a 4*s is because the prices arent really competitive. If you need a speciality liquor - call before coming.
