The Wandering Polymath - Eric Tecce

When youre in a situation and you need your iPhone or iproduct fixed, you have to find someone you can trust to do it. As cheap parts imported from outside the country are easier to obtain, learning the trade can save you plenty of cash. But for most of us, we just dont have the time or want to feel responsible if we make mistakes. So we hire services like iDropped to make our problems better. My experience with them as people were nice, and the service was good at first. But the reason why my review is so low was because it took 6 times before my front iphone was fixed due to a faulty order on black digitizers. After finally being convinced to just put a white one in my phone and a few hours of my time, I was happy with my phone being essentially, not cracked. That is until less than a month goes by and from a 1 foot drop onto rubber foam board, the same problem happened again. But due to lack of knowledge, I just assumed it cracked. Now here is where the problems occur. When importing cheap parts, you can make a better profit, but you also have to do your service right. The netting where you would listen to your phone call while on your iphone was not glued and was one of the first things to fall in. This little piece coming apart is all the difference from having a phone cracking and not cracking due to pressure and warping of the glass. Now after realizing this problem, I brought my receipt in to see if anything could be done once it cracked (which was cause due to the poor service when fixing the phone.) I was told that nothing can be done and that if it should be fixed I would have to pay another $100. Which is the same amount with the first crack. I had the option to get a warranty but their service allows you to spend $50-ish on that, plus another $50-ish to allow that warranty to fix your phone again. So for the money I put into their pocket, I might as well buy a new phone. So to give the just of it, I basically put my $100 into have a cracked phone, to having another cracked phone. Sometimes everything doesnt have to put into fine print to help a customer, but a business with little value to their demographic is a business who is willing to lose customers and eventually go out of business. Especially in a mall where business are already dwindling already. I dont recommend it is a business that is more about their wallet then their customers. Though I will add that some of the workers who do work there are extremely friendly and nice, but their power is limited as they are mere employees. So if you are thinking about getting a phone or ipad or whatever fixed, do some research, see how much the parts cost, and find someone who is willing to do the service properly instead of spending it on business sharks.

Middle of the road, really it depends on who waits on your and youre at the mercy of that particular person when you go in for service...lack of communication w/employers. Shame since the owner may not even realize that some workers are just plain rude. No owner wants to go into business and have their employees be rude enough for a customer to come home and give them only a 2-star review. Beware who you hire and who is representing your business at the counter.

My expierence with this store is just complete mess. When I got my iPhone 6 Plus fixed here, they had basically my screen out of my phone. I did not notice until a couple of days later, I did not drop it or anything. To get it fixed was 200 dollars out of my paycheck and I recently just dropped it not even that bad of a drop literally from knees down and it was smashed. So I completely hate this place do not get your phone fixed here because it will break easily.

I love the Steamtown location! The gentleman that runs that store is so helpful, courteous and goes above and beyond to repair your device. It was done so quickly too! He also suggested a case and glass screen protector to prevent future damage to my phone. I tell everyone I know about him and this location.
