My wife has always bought appliances here and we just replaced our variously failing refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Their prices were superior, we had a salesman all to ourselves and I dont have to worry about the "Oh you bought this from big box chain X, that means..." jerk around should anything go wrong. Its a local mom & pop. Apparently they survive by providing value, by their loyal local following. I mean something must keep them in business versus the millionaires. So Ill join the chorus and award the 5 stars as our actual buying experience was so straight forward it required few heroics by which Sclamos staff could prove themselves. That is, we already knew what we wanted (all Whirlpool) based primarily on reliability ratings from Consumer Reports - keep the feature bloat please. There was no problem getting what we wanted in classic white - versus soon to be out of fashion stainless. My wife first bought the refrigerator which was delivered the day before Thanksgiving as promised providing somewhere to put the fresh 32 pound locally sourced turkey. Kind of critical for the 22 guests arriving next day. I think we paid $20 for them to swap the still good kitchen fridge into the garage. The removal of the garage fridge with the death rattle and of course delivery of new one were included in the price. Heres the one surprise though. My wife (a blessing she is in my life) was shopping a $50 off black Friday sale. Little did I realize - not sure Sue did either - there were actually two $50 discounts, a manufacturer rebate plus a Scalmos sale price. But heres the kicker, while discussing the considerable challenge of scheduling a delivery with two people working full time, I said Id simply come pick the appliances up on Saturday - as weekend deliveries werent offered. (Lucky Ive got a pickup truck). That was fine with the store - which accordingly took yet another $50 off the selling price.

I went to Sclamos on Southbridge St during Presidents Day, to look for a new bed. Staff was nice enough, and we purchased and paid for the new bed on that day. I was told they would receive the new bed, and it would be out for delivery to my house in roughly 2 weeks. 3 days later I received a voicemail explaining that it would actually be around 4 weeks due to the piece being on back order. I figured fair enough, stuff happens, and decided to wait. Today, a week after my purchase, I received another call stating it would now be 2+ months (end of April, beginning of May) for the bed to come in. Instead of trying to make it right, I was basically told if I could wait, I got a good deal (paid the same any other customer would have paid) on a really nice piece. There was no offer to discount the bed, waive shipping or removal fees. It was basically wait, or I will refund your card. I have now missed the Presidents day sales at other places, and will have to venture back out to another furniture store to figure it out.

Had service performed on a Kitchenaide Double Oven. Upon self-cleaning it had siezed up and you could not open doors. Sclamos sent their repairman. He said it was the thermal fuse which he ordered and replaced.The fee was $189 for an item I found online for $70. After discussion with him about this he said I needed a need mother board and he could order for the price in "his" book. Again, online it was 1/3 the price. He said he would call with a "best" price. I never heard from him again. Yesterday I had another outfit put in a second thermal fuse for the top oven. The wires had been disconnected and no fuse was attached. Oven works great! No mother board needed. Live and learn I guess.

I have renovated single families and an 8 family and I buy all appliances now from Sclamos in Worcester. The selection is vast and Ive always been able to find what I need here from bisque to white to stainless. The fact that they are reconditioned with a warranty is a no brainer. The owner and sales people are so nice.

Decent prices but sales staff could be friendlier/more accommodating. Receptionist was on Facebook the whole time, was unaware who I was and that I was picking up a dishwasher, and when I asked about the extended warranty she was clueless and rushed me out of the door.

They have a very rude and uneducated office worker who has no clue what the have in the store for products. And, why dont they sell replacment humidifier filters if they sell humidifiers?
