I initially stopped in the store just to browse a few bikes. The staff was not at all pushy, but they were more than willing to answer any questions and let me test drive a bike that caught my eye. Where they really went above and beyond, however, was after my initial visit. I called in several times, and the sales manager, Jeremy, was more than willing to answer whatever questions I had. And, as I probed him about various details regarding the bike that had caught my eye, he managed to locate a bike that was even BETTER than the one I had been looking at, but at the SAME PRICE! He sent me a picture of the bike and I fell in love instantly. I wasnt able to get back to the store until later in the evening, just a couple of hours before close. Jeremy and his team were more than willing to stay late to make sure that I had a chance to test ride the new bike, that it fit properly, and that it was outfitted with the proper accessories (accessories that I actually wanted and needed... not them merely them trying to up-sell me). I really could not have asked for a better experience.

Update: I had another mechanical problem on my track bike that had been dogging me - Chris the mechanic squared it away in under 2 minutes! Cant beat that :) I appreciate the quick service, and the price is right. Also, if youre like me and your track bike keeps throwing the chain, its probably the chain losing tension of time. Thats what it was for me anyway. Takes like 2 seconds for a pro to fix. ---- Friendly mechanics, took about an hour to have a simple repair done. The repair was done correctly, so 5 stars! :) Theres also a coffeeshop just a short walk away, so that is nice to chill out and safe a trip, I just waited while the Performance guys wrenched on my bike. Good experience! Ill be back.

I must admit that they are skillful at fixing bike problems, however, they try to work as little as possible and charge you a lot of money, for example they tuned up my brakes, one day later it was bad again as if nothing happened, professional tuneup of the whole bicycle will cost you $100, can you imagine, fixing a flat tire is $16 ($10 labor+ $6 tube) if you require that they inspect the other tire, they will charge you another $10 labor at the same sitting. Their products (accessories) are over priced than the quality provided, I got a front& tail lights which were not great, ----------------- So in brief, service is good , yet too expensive!!!

Great Shop, Amazed at the knowledge base of the Techs and Sales Staff. You know a shops good when most of the sales staff wrenches too. I went in there for a shifter since if finally when out on me plus its old. On the spot Matt took my bike in back, took apart the shifter, and fixed the problem in 5 minutes for free. Saved me like 40 bucks and he wouldnt even except a tip. Then Collin a fellow winter bike commuter gave me great advice on cold weather clothing. Ended up spending over 100 bucks on gear but hell its hard not to in such a big store. Thanks Collin and Matt

An interesting mix of workers and attitudes. Ive been there twice to make purchases and spoken with them once on the phone. If you are lucky to work with Shawn, John (mechanic), or the other highly positive, competent fellow I met (maybe Robert?), youll have a great experience. If you end up working with Gary or some of the other staff (no name tag), they seem to be rather moody and pessimistic. My advice is to stand back for a few minutes and observe before choosing a staff member to assist you.

Its a hit or miss when I come here. I either get greeting and advice or nobody comes to do anything and I wonder around to my hearts content. Prices are decent for a bike shot. Its either too much in your mind or you can justify paying. The servicing for the bike though is great and definitely one of the best around. When they are done with tuning your bike theres definitely nothing to complain about.

Worst place ever!!! Brought two bikes in,for free meintance .Not only the guy informed us that the mechanic is gone already ,he didnt even bother to stop and talked to us !! I offered to pay to at least check out my sons bike ! Nothing ! Omg such a terrible terrible customer care !! We went across the street ! They took care of us right away ! Dont waste your time here people !!!

Large conglomerate bike stores are typically pretty awful, but this Performance Bike is fantastic. The employees are always friendly and there are plenty of service advisers that ask whether you need help. Decent selection of beginner and intermediate bikes, but they have limited supply of high end gear.

Best bike shop around! I live in Carpentersville, but I will travel all the way to this store to buy things for my bike or have they perform service on my bike. The staff is friendly and they have some great sales at their store and online!

Amazing bike shop. They helped me pick my first bike. Appreciate their courtesy. I had no idea what to look for in a bike. All my questions were answered, they let me test ride several bikes. Very nice staff.
