This is one of the two local Indian import shops in the area that I know of. I have been very pleased with both of them, but I generally go to this one because they have hot prepared foods as well as groceries to take home. The samosas are very large and only one dollar, though theyre a bit too salty for my preferences. My kids struggle to eat them because theyre not used to hot food, but they usually manage to eat a good bit of them even if theres nothing on hand to drink. The prices for rice, spices, vegetables and shelf stable meals are so much lower than the supermarkets that I often wonder why theyre not bigger and more successful. I assume its all about advertising. But I keep telling everybody I know to go there. They have jumbo sized containers of good quality yoghurt that my family enjoys. I recently picked up a quart of prepared dosa batter (all natural!) and am making eggs and dosa for breakfast for the kids as a surprise. Most importantly, they sell Deeps Hot Mix. This is my all time favorite snack food! Whoever thinks of marketing it to the wholesale beer places in college towns will make a fortune!

Alright. Slightly higher prices on some stuff than its nearest competitor "Daawat Mid-Hudson Asian Market". But, the people who run and own the store are really much better at treating customers than that guy at daawat. Id suggest go shopping at saraswathi any day over daawat

Not a big store, compared to ones found in Jersey city or NYC, but definitely the best in Hudson Valley. Decent variety of Indian groceries. Never tasted the samosas and sweets but they look good.

Have been shopping here for over a decade. Even though there are other stores in the area, Mahesh bhai and bhabhi give the best customer service! I never had a complaint about any product.
