I came in here weekend before last to buy some books but ended up not buying anything. I walked in and was not greeted by the three people standing behind the counter, who looked up when they heard the bell. They started a conversation about bookstores going out of business because people arent buying books anymore; well I was there to buy books, but because I was completely ignored I decided not to spend one red cent. Oh, other people came in after me and were greeted, individually. I support bookstores, especially the small ones because I want bookstores to thrive and I enjoy visiting them. I own an I-pad, Kindle Fire HD, and the 3rd gen Kindle keyboard. Most of the the books I own are e-books. Amazon just gives books away. I buy hard cover and paperback books because I love them, and I love buying them for other people as well. I cannot support any place that does not treat all customers fairly.

I wish I could give this place a ZERO Star rating...why? I bought a brand new book by Fannie Flag on Friday around 5:15! I returned the book on Saturday around 1:30 but was told no way! It was explained that you must return the book the same day or you dont get your money back! So if you buy a book 5 minutes before closing you have a 5 minute return policy! What a bunch of crap is that? It is a huge pile of CRAP! I have no idea why they have a horrible return policy and I really dont care what I do care about is that you will never see my butt in that store ever again! And I will tell EVERYONE about this horrible, crappy bookstore! BEWARE THAT THIS STORE HAS A RETURN POLICY FROM THE 1500S!!!!

My 19 month daughter and I have been at this book store for approximately 35 minutes. We were not greeted walking in, as other patrons were. We were not offered help. When I asked for assistance locating a book, a customer offered help, two employees seemed SUPER reluctant to help us. We worled our way thru the maze of an establishment section to section from Childrens books all the way thru to the other side. Not once were we offered assistance. Business relationship severed before it can began. My little family is full of readers. Sucks because they are down the street maybe family owned. We will stick to Half-price & Amazon....

I believe in supporting local business, and have bought many items from this store in the past. Sadly today I was very disappointed. I bought a journal from them a week ago for someone as a gift. I learned before giving the person this journal that they already had one. I tried to return the item today with the receipt. I was told I could only have "store" credit. This policy is not posted anywhere that I could see and now I am stuck with store credit. Sadly Amazon gives much better service and I will use my credit at Katy Budget Books and will buy from Amazon from now on.

Outstanding used bookstore. We visited it for many, many years while we lived in Katy (even before they upgraded their building). Always clean and in good order; always with people willing to assist... Even though I usually enjoyed browsing by myself. You can see book recommendations on postcards pined around their store... An added bonus. It has a nice new/used childrens book selection. It was a treat for my kids to visit KUB with us. We need a similar store in The Woodlands!

Best bookstore in Katy area! They are a small bookstore, not a franchise, therefore they go the extra mile for you. If they dont have the book, they will order it for you. Prices are reasonable. If you are new tot he area, they carry all the books the kids hace to read at Katy schools. They also have the option of used books, most of the time, if you dont want to pay full price. They will buy books back as well.

Fun place to go if youre a reader. Books arent always the best deals (half price on some used editions just arent worth it for their condition) but if youre thorough you can find a deal on most visits! Staff are friendly and smiling, and always willing to help. There are chairs throughout store to browse books before purchasing. This bookstore doesnt make you feel pressured. Its become a favorite spot while in Katy.

KBB is my local bookstore. I love their selection and buyback program. My best experience has been when I was looking for Arch Enemy, the third installment in The Looking Glass Wars trilogy. I picked it up off the shelf, took it home, and when I opened it, it was AUTOGRAPHED. A real gem. I was so surprised and satisfied with my purchase. You never know what good stuff youll find on the shelves here!

Always a disappointment. The store looks full of books, but unless you like mass published romance or mystery/thriller prepare to be let down. Ive donated so many books here but never find a thing to use my credit on, since you cant use it at all on new books, and thats where all their variety is. Half-Price is far and away the better store.

This is by far my favorite book store in Houston. I just love coming here. Its cozy, the staff is incredibly helpful and you also can trade your old books for credit (although you can only buy used books with credit). Katy Budget Books is definitely a place to visit if you live in Katy! I go at least once every other week.

Katy Budget Books is a fun and interesting place to shop and visit. The people are helpful and friendly and you can get used book credit toward future purchases. They sell more than books, though, so you can also find interesting gift items. Ive been going there a long time.

Great selection of used books for reasonable prices. The store will also give you credit when you bring in books that you have read. We have used KBB for many years. They always keep the Katy I.S.D. reading list books in stock. Very pleased and staff is very nice.

A wide variety of used and new books with a great trade in credit program can be found here for all ages. Weekend author visits and teacher programs are an added bonus. My kids and I often come here. The atmosphere is always friendly and inviting.

DO NOT CARRY TEXTBOOKS. I called ahead to see if they carry textbooks, and they said no. Short and simple phone conversation, decent etiquette as far as I was involved. -1 star because they dont carry all books :)

I came when it was 10 minutes til closing and they still welcomed me and helped me find what i needed. The only thing is that the register takes a little longer. Maybe new equipment needed?
