Experience after couple of months of getting a service from this place. Pathetic service. I bought a bicycle from Amazon, and approached them if they can assemble. Over email, quoted as $55, but when reached the shop, tried to charge $60, any how they corrected once after showing my email. Worst is the experience with the service. First they said, it will take 7 days, as there is lot of backlog, but they called me on 3rd day, saying its all ready. Due to my busy schedule, reached there 5 minutes their closing time, and the bike assembly looked good. The moment i made a round about the shop, noticed that the handle was not fully fixed(good, i didnt came to the main road, just to test my fate), then, somebody said in relaxed tone, ohh, "this is not fixed fully", and he tightened couple of screws. Then, on my way to home(2 miles ride), i noticed that the chain is touching the bars, and also, front gears are not working. Since already they closed the shop for that day, sent an email next day about the problem. But to my surprise, the reply was, it could be a manufacturer defect :-(. Ooops, then what you tuned or tested.??. you didnt even tell anything, when i was there. Anyhow, one of my friend who is long time biker, looked at, tuned it a bit, and said that whoever assembled it, didnt do his job. Still, i fill that the bike needs overall tune up as it was not fully assembled , and looking for a good shop around... Two months, i just put around 10 miles on it, need to take it some other place, before i start taking it with confidence. Bottom line is, cost of time, money and peace of mind.

I took my bike in for an adjustment on the gear shifters, as well as a total replacement of the shifter cables. My bike is pretty much the most important thing I own, next Rio my phone. I dont have a valid license, so my bike is vital for my getting around town in a reasonable amount of time. So when they said that the bike wasnt going to be ready until late the next day, I almost just told them nevermind, cause there is just no way I could go that long without my transportation. But when I told them how that was just impossible, they said they could busy it out real quick and have it ready within just a couple hours, I was sold. And he called me right around when he said he would. When I went to retrieve the bike, he walked me through everything he did and I was blown away. I was only expecting just the basic replacement and adjustment. But also he greased up the chain, fixed the rear derailleur, how it was bent inward, straighten the front rim, it had a fairly crazy wobble/bend, and I cant seem to remember if there was anything else, but I think there was a couple things. The best part of all this, he only charged me for the simple replacement and adjustment. Then when my on hand cash ended up being a touch sorry, he knocked off some of the labor costs so that I could afford it. Aside from the fact Ive had nothing but a super positive, pleasant experience every time Ive gone in there, that incident alone has made me a loyal customer for life. Thats my story, I just hope it helped out.

Granted my bike is low quality and a few hundreds dollars max. However I dropped my bike off last Tuesday, was advised the part would arrive on 7/25 and ready for pick up today 7/26. Educated on the situation at hand and proper expectations were set for pick up. We have a family reunion out of State and one specific activity planned around riding. I was reassured your shop was adequately equipped to accurately perform the repair and that it would be arrival before we left. I never received a phone call about the shipment not arriving yesterday to cause a delay in resolution, no phone call today when the delayed shipment still didnt arrive which caused a new delay in resolution. When I called and spoke with a rep I was told "I cant ask UPS to be here first thing in the morning" so you will have to pick the bike up when you return from your family reunion. Now we cant pick up my pick until after we return from out of State. The rep I spoke with was very ignorant and made me feel as if I shouldnt expect anything different then what options he presented. What are we supposed to do now? A simple phone call letting me know about the situation could have prevented said outcome. I would have made other arrangements as needed. He didnt even apologize, pathetic attempt at providing a proper resolution. My father and mother race and have many friends that will love to hear about my experience this weekend.

This is without a doubt- THE Best bike shop I have ever been to. I am not a professional biker, but I use my bike everyday to commute all over the area, as I do not have a car. Needless to say, I put a lot of wear and tear on my bicycle. The entire staff at Mad Dog seemed friendly. They go out of their way to not only solve the problems you come in with, but they educate you, so you are prepared for situations that you will encounter in the future. I came in today with a flat tire, Brian put my bike up on the stand to take the wheel off and fix it. While he was dealing with the tire, he answered many questions that i had about getting my bike ready for the upcoming winter season. He took the time to show me all of my different options for studded pedals and tires. He wasnt at all pushy in trying to get me to buy the most expensive option. He genuinely cared about my situation and what solution would fit me best. Also a while back, I came into the shop looking for a new helmet, a woman there immediately asked if i would like help in choosing a helmet. ( I was recovering from brain surgery at the time) I told her about my situation, she directed me to a helmet that wasnt the most expensive, but it had the best coverage and ventilation. these people truely care about the riders experience. Shout out to the entire staff at MDC and especially Brian for fixing my problem today. I Love This Place!

I get all of my biking needs done at Mad Dog. They are a mile from work so its easy to pick up and drop off with a friend willing to drive me. I bought my 2009 Gary Fischer Monona there in 2010 and paid the extra $150 for a 5-year Red Shield. Mad Dog always gave me receipts after I had labor done there, and it would show how much I WOULD have paid if I wasnt covered. For that $150, Ive had over $700 work done. Im not really a Do-It-Myselfer when it comes to bikes with cabling and derailleurs, so I trust their mechanics to do it all for me. Tune-ups even include a bike cleaning where they de-grease my chain and sockets and they wipe the body down. Not only did I get my bike from Mad Dog, but also bought fenders, a book rack, lights, snow tires, additional wheels, kickstand, tools, kits, an ankle biter, and my helmet. I didnt get all this at once--I bought it as I saved up for these additional features. All of my co-workers know I bike to work all year round. I save money on all expenses related to cars. I exercise my heart, lungs and legs, and I owe it all to Mad Dog. Their customer service (in sales and the shop) is also really good, and Ive gotten to know them on a first name basis. The only thing you have to know if you start bicycling regularly is that you may have to deal with helmet hair. :)
