Poor experience to share. My buddy rented a bike from Bike Barn for the ride last night. On the way out I could hear his Front brake rubbing ever so slightly, but wasnt bad enough to stop. By a little over halfway through the ride we had a little road jaunt again and I could hear that the front was rubbing worse and now the back was rubbing. Both brakes were fairly loose and upon adjusting realized the front rotor was most likely warped, and assumed the same for the back. I got them adjusted as good as I could and we rode on and finished the night. I told him he should mention the challenges we had as they should not be letting a bike go out like that. Long story short it turned out the back rotor was rubbing because the rear thru axle was loose and the front rotor was in fact warped. They than proceeded to accuse him of being, "too hard on the bike" and started to threaten to charge him for the damage. According to my strava we had a pretty mellow night...12 miles with an 8 mile per hour pace. My buddy not knowing much about bikes actually started feeling like he had done something wrong. Shame on you Bike Barn! What a terrible way to introduce someone to the cycling community, and a worse way to represent Specialized. As an long time mountain biker and owner of several high end mountain bikes through the years; I can tell you there is no way my friend did damage to your bike at our conservative pace. This is a $2800 specialized mountain bike (as evidenced by the hold you put on his credit card) thats intended purpose is for a skilled rider to put it through it paces. Very different from the conservative second time out ride I took my buddy on. They will be getting nothing further from from me save bad press. -Shane Williams

All other bike shops should strive to match Bike Barns customer service. I recently built up a new road bike that I purchased through a bike shop in the midwest. However, something didnt look quite right with the bottom bracket so I took it to Bike Barn for some advice. Upon inspection, they noticed several spacers were missing. I explained that the spacers werent included in my shipment. Either the bike shop I purchased everything from sent me a Sram crank with parts missing, or Sram shipped it to them that way. Either way, it wasnt Bike Barns problem. They could have very easily told me to contact the bike shop (that I spent a lot of money at) about getting the missing spacers. Instead, they dialed up their Sram rep and within a matter of minutes had Sram sending the parts directly to their shop (again, not the one I purchased it from) free of charge! The parts arrived by the end of the week, and when I went in to pick them up, they remembered me and my name! Bike Barn goes the extra mile to deliver friendly, personal service and theyve earned a future customer out of me. Keep up the great work!

Two days ago, I purchased a Shimano road shift cable set for $22.99. Yesterday, I learned that in order to keep my cat, he needs a round of vaccines, for $21. The living creature has to come before the inanimate object, so I went back to Bike Barn and told them the gospel truth. The item is unopened, undamaged, in its original packaging, with a Bike Barn price tag prominently front and center. So the cashier consults who I presume is his superior, and comes back with too bad, so sad, no receipt no return. But theyll sell me the two feet of housing I actually need for top dollar. Great policy, guys. Landis has looked up receipts Ive lost. Serfas has offered assistance without asking for a receipt whatsoever. Bike Barn just permanently lost me as a customer and guaranteed i will warn off every cyclist I know, and thats from a guy who bikes 30-50 miles a day under normal circumstances. They must have really needed that lousy $20.

We spent the weekend shopping Phoenix for a good quality first time road bike. The sales manager, Ryan, was very informative, non-judgmental and pleasant to deal with. We felt such little pressure from Ryan the first day we left guilt free to continue our quest for the perfect bicycle for our needs. Ryans knowledge and professionalism lead us right back to the Bike Barn to make our final selection and purchase. Of course, we needed all the accessories to finish off the purchase and I felt he was honest in assessing what items it was worth spending a little more on, and what items a little cost saving was practical. In the end, I know if I have any questions, or concerns I can trust Ryan to help work through them confidently. I would recommend Bike Barn to any of my friends!

T’was the night before Christmas… I needed to rent two road bikes. I should have used the Bike Barn’s reserve option online, to ensure availability. Thankfully, Mary was able to accommodate with a Christmas miracle. She was able to find us two bikes in our sizes, and to boot, we were given the option to keep the bikes for an extra day (Christmas), so we could enjoy the bikes for a Christmas ride. Mary also provided us with a bike repair kit, instructions, gave us weather information, and Phoenix cycling pro-tips. The return process was smooth, too. The associate gave the bikes a once over, checked the saddlebags, and returned the credit-card hold slip. We will absolutely rent here next time we visit Phoenix. This place is EXCELLENT. VERY STRONGLY RECOMMEND

Though Im not near a store, I needed help with parts for a very old bicycle. They were recommended and became one of the top stops along my trail to find what I need (not sure yet if is just information or actual product.) They were very patient, helpful, and just like REI, (the 1 prior info. stop) not too proud to say right out "Im not sure", and then refer to another place (maybe rival?) for more specifics. Whether you shop there in person, or by phone for advice they at least hire polite, helpful, and knowledgeable people who offer top quality advice. Wish there was one closer for me, NW Valley? (No, I am not getting run around "anymore" at least; every bit of info Ive been able to confirm via net.)

Saturday I decided to go for 25 mile bike ride in 111 degree heat - tire popped halfway through the ride, walked 18 blocks to the nearest bike shop - got there at 5:02 and when I got in the shop, I was presented with a pleasant "Sorry, closed at 5" - After explaining my situation, again "sorry, registers are closed, theres nothing I can do" - Thanks Bike Barn at 36th St & Indian School - You recommended me to walk my bike another 10 miles to another bike shop "just down the road" that was also probably closed. Luckily I didnt attempted that and a friend came to the rescue and gave me a ride home. If you want a bike or good, friendly customer service, Bike Barn is not the ideal place to go.

Poor Customer Service and Over Charged for Service. They were busy and the manager gave me major attitude about getting service on my bike. Then she made up a new higher price for my tire service because she was upset. She tried to charge me $30 for a service Landis charges only $12 for. I offered $25 and she got super upset and she took it and literally told me to "just go away". Well, guess what, I will go away. I recently entered the biking scene and Ill be going to other bike stores from now on. I hope the owner gets to read this.
