Should these guys get yet another 5 star review? You betcha! Over a year ago I was riding a friends bike and I parked it at The Phoenix Main Library. When I came back out I sadly discovered that some miscreant had gotten off with the bike seat. (and I hadnt even autographed it..sheesh!) So Im in the heart of Phoenix right near downtown and the Central Corridor, plenty of bike shops right? Right. The only problem is the bike has an unusual diameter seat post. Who knew? Not I, thats for sure. My first, of many stops in Phoenix, was a bicycle shop located on Central Ave. near Camelback Rd named something like The Surly Porker, or Slimy Porcine On Wheels.. Anyway the owner of the bike shop there made me feel right at home. But since I grew up in what might be described as a Dickens novel you may want to avoid that place. (If you happen to accidentally find yourself in the vicinity and wonder to yourself, "Is this the bad bike shop in Phoenix, that I read about?" Youll know right away as the owner is a rather, er.. umm, round, red faced gent who looks as if he just came from or is headed to a hog killing) So stop after stop, shop after shop, "No Post That Size." Then I remembered The Bike Cellar in Tempe. Right off the Light Rail. Not only was the Mgr. Tom, able to get me a new post for the bicycle but, he had some fine seats to choose from. (I got the Cloud 9) And since I was in the market for a new bicycle I bought myself a great cruiser, that I find a joy to ride, Thanks Tom! I have been back there several times buying such odds and ends as needed. Such as some serious new tires that actually STOP thorns from giving you flats. I even send friends there because I absolutely know these folks, especially Tom, will treat them right. Ive actually traveled from far North Phoenix to Tempe when Ive needed work done to my bike. TrueBeans. Rarely do I give Google reviews and I feel like a schmuck for not providing the best bike shop in Tempe, heck all of Arizona, with a review sooner. So stop buying your bikes and bike parts from that Craigers/site. Its mostly all stolen! And you know that! Go to Tempe to The Bike Cellar. They are fair, honest, and all around swell fellows.

These guys are wonderful. Pleasant, low-key, helpful, knowledgable. They provide service beyond what you expect. I was coming down to Tempe to participate in a triathlon, and needed to rent a road bike (Id never ridden one before, so had lots of questions). I called the Bicycle Cellar about 3 weeks before the event and they told me they had a used, race-ready road bike. I came in to pick it up the day before the event, and Alex put my pedals on it for me and set the seat-height right. When I brought it back later for a final check-up, John (owner) put a water-bottle rack on it for me and pumped up the tires. (He also gave me good advice on a nearby restaurant) The next day I rode the bike in the race (great bike!), brought it back and talked to Tom about buying it. He explained simply about the bikes components and maintenance, and the packing/shipping process. I bought it. In short, I got good advice and great service from all three guys who work there, and while I was in the shop watched each of them deal pleasantly and competently with other people who came in. There were a lot of happy customers. John, Alex, Tom, thank you!

They recently refurbished my worn out Schwinn Caliente and I couldnt be happier with the work and experience in the shop. The employee who helped us explained what could be done to get the bike riding effectively, giving several options for each component that could use work. He was extremely helpful in explaining what different upgrades were good for in terms of actually riding and using the bike but also in terms of cost and quality of different parts. I came out with a pair of two new aluminum rims (upgraded from steel), a set of rugged looking Schwalbe Marathon tires, new brakes and pads, a new seat and a set of platform mountain bike pedals installed. The bike now glides along so smoothly I sometimes forget that I have to pedal. For $285 in parts and labor, I get to enjoy by old bike as if it were brand new! I will definitely be back for future work and I would highly recommend bringing your old bike to this shop!

Went in to check it out as I work at ASU and love bike commuting to work, but dont want to take my road bike for fear that it could be stolen or tampered with (yes, even with locks on, ASU is an AWFUL place to park your bike). I immediately signed up to become a member so I can ride, shower and leave my bike safely locked up securely while Im at work... Ive even left it over weekends without fear. On top of it, these guys are amazing with bikes and fix things quickly and for FAR less than any other bike shop in town. John and the rest of the employees are awesome, down to earth and honest about what needs to be fixed and how much and the time they need. They even fixed my light for free when I dropped my bike off to just get a tube replaced. HIGHLY recommended!

In The Bicycle Cellar, we were greeted with friendly service and affordable prices, a combination which has been severely lacking at any other bike shop I have been to. I came in today with a bike which had no air in the tires and the handlebar was not attached correctly. Plus, the bolt holding the bar in couldnt be taken off with any standard or metric allen wrench, but Joseph managed to get it off. He was super friendly and helped me find a stem and handlebars that are more comfortable for me to ride with. My mom and I are impressed with his handiwork and grateful because, this time, we know the bike will NOT fall apart on my way to work.

The owner of the bike shop is super awesome! I bought a Ui5 Magnum electric bike there and he did a fantastic job in educating me on pretty much everything with the bike. When I had a flat a week later, he was more than happy to fix it up really fast and added sealant to the tubing free of charge. He even informed me how to disassemble the back tire (where the motor is) so I could fix it myself in the future. Ive shopped around to many bike stores for an electric bike and these guys were by far the most helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely getting another bike from them in the future.

These folks are ABSOLUTELY fantastic. Had a small problem with my front tire having had an inner tube slip inside my tire. Stopped by the shop and they took the time to deflate, adjust and reinflate. NO CHARGE.... Nice to meet real humans these days.... I have bought several accessories from them as well as service (slime because we live in Arizona with alot of thorns and new inner tubes). These folks are wonderful!!!!!!!!! Good service, excellent customer service and prices. Love you guys and thanks for all your support as a cyclist !!!!
