My big beautiful collie, Magic is very finicky about who he wants grooming him. He is ten and a real puppy at heart. He has loads of coat because he is a retired champion and neutered. He needs full grooms once every couple months. Mary is the best groomer ever. She talks dog! She shampoos, trims nails perfectly, never knicks the cuticle and is super with the dogs. She blows his coat and tons of dead hair comes out. He looks ten pounds lighter when she is finished with him. She is busy, but book her if you can, she is worth the wait and definately worth the price. Magic is usually a talker when he is anywhere, doesnt mean he is scared, just means he is yappy. She tells him to quiet down and he listens to her, yet he is not afraid. He is her buddy. She doesnt seem to get migraines from his whining either, like some groomers have in the past. Sometimes when I come to get him, he doesnt act like he wants to leave right away until he gets a cookie. He is very at home with Mary and the staff down there. Hurrah for Mary!

They were great when I went to buy two betta fish, good customer service and tons of help. When I returned 3 weeks later to buy another fish, I had two nice ladies help me understand which fish could go with others and which couldnt, the food and temperature of the water and such. This overall took around 30 minutes. Then, I went to the front desk because I had decided which one I wanted (a 19¢ gold fish) , and the lady called for someone to go meet us there. When we got back there she was helping another women so I waited for around 25 minutes, then one of the managers walked up and asked if I had decided and I said yes and told her which one I wanted, her response was "are you 18?", I said no as I am only 16 and she continued to say that I can not buy a fish from there. This same woman had helped me earlier. None of the three women that helped me mentioned this AND I bought two fish from that store three weeks before. The manager had dark hair and a lip ring, and was rude when I told her about the fish I previously bought.

Went in to this Petco a few days ago to pick out a fish for my daughter, she decided on a blue female betta. Took it home got the tank set up, fish seemed happy. However the food we bought from petco the fish didnt seem to like. We bought one with Betta in the name, bettas on the bottle, a brand "Marketed" for bettas but the fish wasnt eating. I called and asked about returns/exchanges even tho the bottle was open and explained I tried it for 3 days and the fish wouldnt eat it. They were awesome about the return it was super easy, They sent me to the fish area and told me to ask for "Meghan" who was awesome and very helpful and knowledgeable about the fish. I asked what brand/type they feed the fish in store and she was very patient and helped me figure out what to get. Brought it home and the fish finally was able to eat. So happy everyone there was so helpful and understanding.

I have had live reef aquariums for over a decade and worked in the aquaculture industry for a number of years not only do the aquarium "specialists" have no idea how to tell the difference between Cryptocaryon (ich) and Amyloodinium (marine velvet) the two most common marine diseases or how to properly treat them, they dont seem to know how damaging it can be to an existing aquarium especially to a newcomer to the aquarium hobby who doesnt know that you need to quarantine new fish in a separate tank for observation for at least a week before moving it to its permanent tank. If asked about the spots by a tangs fins/gills or the cloudy film on a clown fish they will tell you something along the lines of its normal or not a big problem.

Made an appointment at the groomers here over a week prior and set everything up. The appointment was for noon Oct. 12th 2012. When I showed up at 11:40 I was told that the water heater was broken and that everyone who had an appointment was called and notified. I told the guy that I wasnt called and that was why I was here. He then got an attitude and told me I could call later and make another appointment. I asked if the groomers were there and if I could make and appointment directly from them. He said they wouldnt be in till 2pm. I shop there all the time and the one time there is a problem I get an attitude. The shopping and prices here are ok, the costumer service is not there.

Had our dogs groomed here and our larger dog came home with a wound on his muzzle; the groomers made no mention of how or why it might have happened. Our smaller dogs nails were trimmed but not ground down (which I had paid extra for) resulting in scratches all over us. Upon checkout I had to ask them to hold the dogs so that I could get the car open, and wasnt asked if I needed any help getting them out. The wait area is tiny and does not allow for any space if your dogs arent keen on strange people/animals in their personal space. Frustrating, expensive, and impersonal.

Besides having great programs for animals, I will never buy fish here. In the 12 years weve been getting fish, they have know LLED my tank 90% of the time. The live plants will in infest your tank with snails and they will not do anything about it. I have been lied to by the fish department many times about the condition of their fish and aquariums, even while they were green and being cleaned. I no longer shop at this store.

We took our dog to get groomed, and they returned her to us with a whole paw not trimmed, and still wet after being there for almost 4 hours.They told us our dog is aggressive and they could not finish her nail trimming. We have gone to Petco numerous times, but will not be returning to this one again. They did not have good customer service and did not do what we asked and PAID for.

This location has puppy classes and grooming. They also carry supplies for dogs, birds, cats and reptiles. While its not the biggest pet store I always find what I need. They also have a fridge with raw pet food. They keep items well stocked and the staff is always friendly at this location. Right next to Cushman trail and home depot so lots of pet friendly spots next to each other.

Theres an ok selection of items. There arent many cats or dogs available and you cant just buy them there. You have to put in an application through another website. It all seems very odd. Prices are what youd expect (high) and the staff really only knows what they have in stock and not much about the items beyond whats written on the package. Not a great place to ask for advice.

I took my 2 miniature poodles in for grooming and all the works. The girl that handled my male, she got him in the eye and never said one thing about it and to top it off, she didnt groom them like I asked. I will never recommend or refer anyone to them. My baby is blind in his left eye now. Sorry employees at petco in gig harbor.
