I am so angry with this place. My son saved his money for months to buy his own lizard. He was finally able to get one. I bought the supplies. We spent well over 300.00 for the lizard to die 3 weeks later. I go in and the staff was very friendly and gave us a new lizard. Then the second lizard was sick as well. So my friend brought it to an animal rescue shelter and they tried to save him but he died also. They said from a lizard disease that was like aids to humans. Which means I was sold a lizard with a life threatening disease and then got it replaced with another one that had the same disease. Because I am sure thats why the first one died. I am furious. All that money just down the toilet not to mention my poor ten year old son. And to top it all off now I need to take my son to the Dr to make sure he didnt get sick from it. I will NEVER come here again for anything. Then come to find out that some of my friends have had issues with reptiles from petco as well. Wish I wouldve talked to people and read reviews like this one before I decided to spend so much money on something that just upset my son. Shame on you petco. The only reason. I would have given no stars but the staff was friendly so that earns one star.

The service was terrible! I recently bought a Dragon Gobi and I asked the guy that worked in the fish department how to take care of it. They advised me to use aquarium salt and to make sure the water was brackish water using their water tester. I bought the water tester and went home and prepared my tank. I added the fish and everything was fine for about a week. The fish died and Petco refuses to refund me or exchange it for a new one. I told them that I did everything that they told me to do but they still refuse to give me any kind of compensation. They should not be selling fish that they have no clue how to take care of.

well got a saltwater fish got it hone notices it had ich... was told to bring out back they would trade get there.. The other fish like one I got was half dead so I was told to take that or no deal... long story short Im out 40 bucks not putting infected fish in my tank... so I will never spend a penny at petco again in fact Im telling everyone I know to never buy from them again... worst experience rude unprofessional management...

After having a horrible experience at The Petco on 6th Ave I started coming here. Fish selection here is healthy, staff is friendly, and service is fast. Avoid the petco on 6th Ave, its a horrible store and doesnt represent petco well. Lakewood petco is Awesome. Its completely out of my way but well worth the drive.

Crystal in grooming was very good with my dog. After they refused to clip my dogs nails at PetSmart (she is very insecure and anxious), I went to Petco. Crystal was always very loving and patient with my dog. I would definitely recommend coming here, I went regularly for 3 years before I moved out of state.

Really healthy nice bettas, excellent fish selection, and the staff really know about fish or at least make you think they do ha. They also have a good brand of training treats for dogs that we get here. They have a lot of products for any animal you might have.

I like this pet store better than the Tacoma mall location for their fish selection. All petcos are unique. The Tacoma location has better animals (hamsters, birds, etc) for sale than this location.
