My experience was QUITE different than the others. I ordered my furniture on Memorial Day, and here we are, after Labor Day, and my order is STILL incomplete. Yes, their prices are low, but it comes with a different price--your time and the quality of furniture being delivered. We ordered a sofa, love seat, and 2 different dining sets. When I called the store at the end of the timeline that they gave me to see when the furniture would be available, they said that the two dining sets were in, but the sofa and love seat were not. They offered to deliver the pieces that they had at no extra cost. Nice. So I said ok, and waited out the 3 hour delivery window. They showed up 2 minutes before the end of the window. They began putting together the dining sets. As they were putting together the kitchen set, they realized that the leaf was broken and 2 of the legs were badly scuffed. They said no problem, we will have our furniture repair guys come fix it. Annoying. Now I knew I was going to have to wait out ANOTHER window. An hour later, they were STILL at my house trying to put together the other table, when they realized that the base that it was supposed to sit on was never ordered. So they packed that table up and brought it back to the store and said they would call when the base arrived. The furniture repair place called and gave me a FOUR hour delivery window. Ok, so I had to wait that out. They came and repaired the leaf, but said that they couldnt repair the scuffed legs, so those needed to be ordered also. Argh. More time wasted. Eventually, the store called back and was going to deliver my dining set that had the missing base and the sofa and love seat. Great. So they delivered that, and as they were delivering that, the delivery driver realized that the dining table top was, in his words, "F-ed up". (He actually used the whole word--while it didnt really offend me, I did think it was unprofessional.) So he said they would order me a new table top and one of the chairs was messed up as well, so they would order me a new one of those. The sofa and love seat didnt have anything wrong with them, however, we did buy them sight unseen. I had specifically told the salesman that I wanted a SMOOTH surface, not one with any pattern or indentations on it. This set was NOT smooth. Its still comfortable, but not what I had wanted at all. Thats what you get when you purchase something without seeing it first. Several weeks later, and with NO communication from the store, I called back and asked when the new table top and when the legs for the other table would arrive. They said it should be within the next few weeks. Ugh. They finally called back with a delivery time for the dining room table. This time, it was a 4 hour delivery window. The guys showed up with the new table top and the new legs for the other table. This time, they ordered the WRONG part for the chair that was messed up. There were also what looked like nail holes in the top and some weird scratched up looking indentations on the side. I was told that was the way it was supposed to look. Really? This is my second table top and the first one that was "f-ed up" didnt have those issues. On this table, there were some scuffs on the side that they were going to call the furniture repair people for. Another 4 hour window that I had to wait. I am still waiting for my final chair piece, again, with NO communication from the store. The poor quality of the items being delivered makes me think that the reason that he offers prices that are so much lower than the competition is because they are ordering defective pieces and having the furniture repair guys fix them. Lesson learned: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. What a waste of $3500.

After hearing great stories from many of our friends who went to MFF when buying furniture, we were excited to shop through them to furnish our newly purchased townhouse. The best news was that a couch we saw at Ashley Home Furniture that was on sale for $700 was being sold at MFF for $500 - SCORE! We ended up purchasing a couch, mattress/box-spring and bed frame for under $2,000. While the couch was delivered with no problem, I sadly cant say the same for our bed. After the mattress and box-spring were set-up they got to wok on the bed frame only to notice that the hardware wasnt correct. We were promised that it would be resolved immediately. Cut to 2 MONTHS LATER were still sleeping on a rental bed frame. My Family Furniture does little to communicate with you regarding the status of your order unless you reach out to them directly. I cant tell you how many times the owner told us over the phone "dont worry, were going to take care of you" but, then nothing ever happened. When the hardware finally came in from Malaysia (?!) it was still missing some pieces and then it turned out that the bed frame that had been leaning against my walls for the past 2 months was ordered in the WRONG SIZE! We ended up returning the entire thing. Will we be shopping with MFF in the future? Probably not. Their customer service is lacking big time, and Id rather pay $1,000 for convenience then pay $300 for a headache.

I would have given it less if it were possible. Ken the owner is rude and will tell you what you want to hear whether its true or not. I ordered my couches 2 months before i moved into my apartment, however while they promised theyd be there with plenty of time to spare it took an additional 3 months before i received them. Ken acted as though i was bothering him when i would call for an update. He treated me extremely rudely especially when i told him he should discount the couches since they were 90 days past their original drop off date and i also bought an entire bedroom set on top of the 2 couches. He did not keep in contact until finally 3 months later they were ready to be delivered. Then had the nerve to be upset when i had to work the night he wanted them delivered. Couches finally came and are so uncomfortable, custom made my ass. Theyre garbage not to mention the "real wood" bedroom set had already started to peel apart? Definitely got screwed, dont make the same mistake. Was way overpriced for this what looks like a resale shop more so than upscale furniture store they claim to be. Run from these people and this store

Im an interior designer, so Im VERY familiar with all of the furniture stores and sources in the Lake County area, and My Family Furniture is always my first go-to choice when shopping for my clients. Is it a fancy place? No- do you want to pay for a showroom with fancy lighting and floor coverings? I thought not. There are plenty of places on the North Shore that will give you a fabulous shopping experience as far as ambiance is concerned. So shop those places first, and then save some $ by having Ken order it for you. Ken and Nancy, as well as Cheyenne and the whole crew at MFF will give you the best value for your money, and excellent customer service. Ive probably sent over $60k of business their way in the last few years, and ALL my clients are thrilled with their purchases! So if you want to pay more than you need to, but want pretty room settings, go elsewhere. If you want quality furniture and service, for the best possible price, go to My Family Furniture. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
