I had a great experience at Dinkytown Optical! I called on Monday and they managed to get me in on Wednesday, which was earlier than the other eye doctor offices that I had contacted. They also accepted my insurance, which was hard to find in the area. The doctor and the staff were both incredibly friendly. The doctor took time to answer all of my questions and provided her reasoning behind them. The staff at the front door spent extra time helping me pick out my glasses and giving his opinion. It was also wonderful that my glasses were available within 24 hours. Plus, the cost of an eye exam + contact lens fitting + new glasses was very affordable. Definitely recommend them!

I would highly recommend Dinkytown Optical. With a -7 prescription, my glasses have to be made with high-index lenses, and I found the best price here (around $160 for the complete glasses). There is a wide selection of frames, and the staff is super friendly. They were even very helpful in helping me choose a style of frame, since I wasnt able to have anyone come with me to look. Quick turnaround too! I paid for my glasses on a Friday, and they were available the next Monday.

The staff are absolutely wonderful and the selection is everything you could want. They almost always have a groupon that will save you big on frames (like $200 big), which helps a ton if you arent carrying insurance. I wasnt aware of this my first time in but was still given frames for free because "its just a deal were doing right now."

Their staff is always very helpful and provides honest opinions when youre searching for the perfect pair. Ive been going there for 5 years and will continue get both glasses and contacts from them!

Dinkytown optical was my last stop after getting frustrated with the high prices of the "trendy" optical shops around town. I did not expect the great selection, personal attention and prices less than 50% of what I was seeing. If you are near the University of Minnesota, its worth a look.
