Bought a king bed and memory foam mattress from Barrows in Mobile for $2000. Didnt sleep on it for first 4 nights because we were out of town. It was horrible, so after a few nights of trying to get used to the new bed we decided to call Barrows and let them know we were unhappy. Barrows gave us their deepest sympathy and told us we bought it, youre stuck with, and proved to us that their "superior customer service" is only during the sale and not after. A few more nights on this terrible bed I discovered the frame was constructed poorly and had insufficient support for the mattress and the people sleeping on it. I spent $50 on lumber at Lowes and rebuilt the supports underneath the mattress. I spent an additional $150 on a topper to help with the discomforting mattress we paid $1150 for. Barrows could have easily followed up with our situation but we didnt even get the courtesy of a call from the manager. This week I found a very similar king bed for $200 less and a king mattress for $500 less at Costco. Do yourself a favor... before making a decision, go by Costco to compare.

Horrible experience. Make sure that what you purchase is what you are gonna be happy with before you leave the store. No matter what they tell you up front, they wont let you return the product.....period. After years of purchasing furniture from Barrow, I thought they knew me well enough to know my name when I walked in the door. I dont know if there is new management or if there are just too many people bringing back products but Ill never go back again. I purchased a set of furniture that was beautiful but, underneath, it was horribly built. Several parts were broken within a week. After speaking with several management people, I basically was told "Sorry, its yours-NO REFUNDS". I now shop elsewhere and I have found better prices on better quality.

Our experience with Barrow was overall a good one. We were greeted at the door and a woman helped us find exactly what we wanted in their endless maze of furniture offerings. She was helpful but not too overbearing. I never felt stressed or pressured. If she showed us something we didnt like, we moved on to another set or piece. We ended up buying a bedroom set which has so far been great.

I was very impressed with the knowledge of the staff. They have a large selection of name brands and styles in all price points. I was much more impressed with the customer service. That meant more to me than anything else. It is comforting to know you are dealing with a store that stands behind their product and will do what it takes to make you satisfied.

If you can afford to drop 5k on a couch than you might as well not go in. This furniture is not spectacular but is very expensive. Same quality furniture for less at other places. I think those that can afford to shop here do it so not to be bothered with other shoppers.
