BEWARE! Absolutely the worst customer service and nasty arrogant manager Jose. We went here to buy some fish to add to our tank. Saw a nice angelfish in a separate tank and we asked why. They said it was being "bullied" this was a lie!!! We brought it home and die first night. We also bought a Molly that died. We brought back the fish to exchange, when the nasty man just said we will not give you another fish until they get a sample of OUR water!! We also noticed other angels dead in their tank in the store. Eventually we got a refund. My son was shocked how mean and uncaring this guy was. Unfortunately, two of our prized angelfish that we had for 5+ years in our well-established tank died. My kid was heartbroken. Our tank was infected!! We are now treating the tank and hope that no more will die. STAY AWAY!! All their tanks are dirty and uncared for. No one tending to these fish. The Petco on Utica Avenue is much better. They have nicer people customer service and aquatic specialist on site who really cares about their fish and other animals. Tanks are crystal clear.

I have been shopping in that location for many years. My experience up until now was average. Long lines and not all staff is very knowlageble. Specially when in come to saltwater stuff. In all my years I never returned or exchanged and item until now. I lost my original receipt on an item that I just bought the day before and they would not exchange it quoting their policy which refers to live stock not equipment. Normally I would be ok with that but Teresa was not very nice about it telling me to come back and speak with the GM the following day. I explained my situation but she continued to be very dismissive. And completely unwilling to work with me. In any retailer if something is out of policy a reasonable solution can always be reached but not with her. As a result Percocet lost me as a customer. For just a silly $13 item. Despite me spending thousands of dollars in that location over time and always making donations. This was a terrible customer experience.

The staff seems to be rude and short and they are ALWAYS understaffed. When you try to find someone to help you it always seems like you are bothering them. Once you do find someone so many people come up and ask for help that you are consistently interrupted with the employee telling people they have to wait. This is there flagship brooklyn store you would think that they could staff it better at least to demand. The employees arent very knowledgeable to what they are selling or the animals they inventory, unless you know exactly what you need and it is a get in and get out visit I would recommend staying away, I always have better experiences at Petsmarts

I bought a beta fish on Sunday unfortunately it died by Monday when I came to exchange the dead fish for a live one they told me now the fish is not on sale and I had a coupon so I have to add money to get a new fish back. I explained I am just here for an exchange they told me since you already used the coupon they cant enter it again. I said if a manager really wanted to help he would be able to. In return they said we are harassing them. We said just give us our money back and we will bring our business else where. They would not return the coupon we used either even though we returned the fish. Very disappointed with their service.

A large selection of pet food and other pet care items. They also sell a variety of birds, lizards, snakes, hamsters, and other small animals. Not big on selling animals, but they do also host adoption events for local cat rescues, which is nice. Prices are better than some other stores in the area, but still kind of high. They have a good selection of organic foods and products, and I like that they give out a lot of pet food samples. But the staff is usually very indifferent, not very friendly. Still, a nice option and I like that theres parking.

Horrible ! I went here twice to get supplies for my school project, the short black guy with the glasses (Manager ) does not know whats hes talking about with these animals. All i wanted was goldfishes and he told me they wouldnt survive more than a week, and tried to convince me to buy those expensive fishes , not knowing that I had a goldfish since i was 3 and im 15! Like I know its business but at least know your info ! P.S my hands constanty ich after touching the animals, dont go here ,save your time

I like this store because its very big and has a large selection of pet items to buy, but I dont like the prices in the store. I went to the petco in bensonhurst too, and the prices there were much cheaper. I bought a can of purina medleys cat food, and I got a can for under a dollar. In this petco on sheepshead bay, the price was a lot higher, but I forgot what it was. The point is, if you are willing to save a few nickels in your wallet, go to the one in bensonhurst. The cashiers were normal.

I bring my dog here for all of his vet and personal needs. Its close to home and parking is convenient and ample. They offer reasonably priced veterinarian services every two weeks at this location. There is always a line for the vet services but the dogs in line are always amusing to watch - just like kids dreading there visit with the doctor LOL. If you sign up for their coupons you will receive some often which helps out to minimize your petco costs at times.

Very poor customer service. I came to exchange a beta fighting fish that died a day after I bought it. They put it into the computer like a new sale only subtracting what I paid, however not including my original coupon or store sale. I explained I am here to exchange the fish not buy a new one. The manager approached and said there is nothing he can do. I asked you cant or wont? We decided to just take our money and leave. Will never buy from here again.

The staff could do a much better job taking care of the animals. Just walking around you see a bunch of dead and half dead fishes swimming in the tanks, dead bettas, and incredibly dirty water. Make sure to check the insides of the insect containers to make sure theyre alive. Im glad I did before i bought them, most of the wax worms and super worms were already dead and dried up. Its so sad how neglected all of their animals are.

Petco has almost everything you need for your pet. They have most conventional items and products so dont expect to come here to find gourmet food or luxury pet accessories. This Petco seems low on staff. We were waiting at the cashiers with only 1 employer available. Service was slow but acceptable. The prices are just like any other Petco in New York area, HIGH!

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! ALL THE MARINE FISH ARE INFESTED WITH ICH AND VELVET... I LOST ALL MY OF MY FISH.... THE STAFF HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND CLEARLY DONT KNOW WHAT EITHER OF THESE PARASITES ARE.... WHEN YOU FINALLY MANAGE TO GET SOMEONE TO HELP YOU THEY ARE USUALLY VERY RUDE.. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT BUY ANIMALS FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE!!!
