Well, last night, seeing the add for roasted chickens in the Safeway deli, I decided to buy a couple instead of having our usual mid week pizza break..SO..my kids went to pick them up from the deli while I bought salad stuff and were told they were out. Since this was the first day of the sale, and it was 4:30 I thought that was strange. When I went to ask, I was told more would be ready in ten minutes. I was also told they were going to be 5.99 instead of the ads price I mentioned at 4.99. I took the ice cream and kids home went back with the coupon which clearly DID say -4.99. I was THEN told - I could only buy ONE at that price despite the ad not setting any limit, but saying clearly -4.99 each. SO..the clerk says she cannot sell me two chickens at that price, and walks me over to customer service. Customer service eyes the coupon and tells me ..I need a coupon for each chicken ,which the coupon does NOT say.BUT OK, i walked over to the door, and got another coupon. FINALLy , I got to buy TWO chickens, whew,but it was SUCH a chore, I will regretfully stop shopping at that deli! I would rate it zero but its not possible on this site.

Clayton Safeway bakery has such a great variety of baked goodies. They are fresh and delicious. Everyone at the bakery department is very friendly and very helpful. Mary Iacopetti is one of those people that will go beyond regular customer service. She will make sure that the customer finds what they are looking for. Mary will give them a personal attention for their unique needs. I am one of those grateful customers. Mary makes sure that I have my fresh and warm croissants whenever I need. She makes my day! Thank you Mary for your great work. Keep it up!

I do not understand why safeways personnel has to be so rude. This store is right next to my house, but i have to drive to the other safeway store (a mile away from my house) to shop because every time i have go to the Safeway in Clayton Rd. the customer service is awful. Cashiers do not acknowledge my greeting and they are constantly making noises of frustration while processing my purchase. I wish management can focus a little bit more on what really matters: service.

Solid produce, decent GF selection, fair prices (if you look for sales), and the majority of the staff are fairly nice/helpful. Not my main store but I have been buying produce (good fruit especially) and other odds and ends here for years. Not as cheap as any of bargain stores obviously but cheaper than Lucky and some of the others. Lighting has always been an issue at Safeway but its not too bad.

This is a nice Safeway. It isnt the one Ive been to but it is still good. I normally only go here in the later hours so it is pretty quiet. There is parking in the front and the inside of the store is clean. Like other Safeways it had a huge selection of items at a reasonable price. The staff a pretty nice and will help if I ask for it, it is just a nice and average Safeway.

New Pronoia Bliss

Crowded parking lot with lots of shops. This Safeway has a good variety of flowers, groceries, and bakery items. The self checkout is effecient and you can enter your phone number seamlessly. There was a wait in Bakery, but thats pretty normal. My shopping experience at this Safeway was good.

This place is amazing. Great sales, but much more importantly its open 24 hours a day and has one of the best staffs Ive ever come across. Always very helpful, friendly, and often comical. I really feel at home in this store and have never been treated any less than excellently.

Its a Safeway. A very nice, very white bread Safeway, in a very nice, very white bread neighborhood. I go there occasionally because they have a better selection of snooty organic ice creams than the ones closer to me. I wouldnt go out of my way to get there.

Very clean inside and out, the staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. You can find just about everything here. Gluten free foods, dairy free, soy free. They have it all! This is my weekly go to spot for food and toiletries.

Lovely experience with the bakery here. All the staff were very nice. Needed a special cake in two days and it was beautiful. We were really happy with it. So with the people, the work they do, and the price, you cant go wrong!

Clean, and the deli/hot food/sandwich part of the store is better than many other Safeways. Not enough baggers; checkout takes way too long since the cashiers have to bag everything and move extremely slowly as a result.

The worst sandwich making service I have seen. It takes too long to get one made. If someone is in front of you you are looking at at least a 10-15 minute wait. Then they usually mess up your order.

Decent local grocery store, great deli & produce, excellent wines, perfect for Mt. Diablo hike picnic treats. (Remember sunscreen & water along with your wine & cheese). Nice service.

Safeway is a good, the parking lot however is too small for all the businesses in the shopping center. I avoid Safeway as best I can because of the parking situation. Its that bad.

This safeway is definitely my favorite place to shop. From the atm inside the store to being open 24 hours to their fresh produce, this is a five star grocery store.

Good options just like any other Safeway, but the parking lot is TERRIBLE. I would much rather go to a store farther away just to avoid the parking lot here.

Rude service. Checkers wont bother giving you the time of day here, and God forbid if you ask them. Avoid them unless you have to use the restroom here.
