Im glad another Grocery Outlet store opened in Concord after the one on Clayton Rd. closed several years ago. Unfortunately, this one needs some improvement on management training and customer service. I was in the process of purchasing a couple of items and was told the total. I always try to do the math in my head ahead of time to make sure I am being charged the correct amount regardless of where I shop. I questioned the employee this time because I felt the price was a few dollars more than I calculated. I immediately knew what item I was being overcharged for and I asked her to confirm the price. I advised her the price tag that was shown on the item and she requested a fellow employee to verify the price. The other employee came back and confirmed the price I told her was correct, however she said she thought it was a mistake. The employee who was ringing me up asked if I still wanted the item and I told her no. A supervisor had to be contacted to process the refund and this time I showed him the sign. He rudely said it was a mistake, turned his back, and walked away, not offering to correct the mistake or even to offer an apology. He seemed rather irritated to have to get off his high horse to be even be troubled with this. Like many of us, Ive worked in customer service for several years. I know its not the easiest of jobs, however I also know how to not treat customers especially when they are not at fault. I felt this was one of the most rudest individuals I have ever come across. Maybe his cold demeanor was due to his age or he was just having a bad day. Regardless, I would hope to be treated a little better. I intend to skip this Grocery Outlet in favor of the one in Pleasant Hill.

I have been a loyal shopper here for about five years. I enjoy to great variety and the somewhat healthier alternatives. They also have an incredible selection of excellent wines at great prices. Make certain that you dont forget to bring a state issued and current identification. To be safe you may want to also keep a certified notarized letter from your local Sheriff to validate your identification.Lastly, make sure that your current appearance and hairstyle is very near that on your identification or you will certainly not be able to take advantage of their fine selection of reasonably priced wines. This is the only complaint or drawback that I have about this establishment. They should leave the enforcement of Alcoholic Beverage Control to our law enforcement. It is great to be a responsibile, law abiding merchant but thats were it should end. As a former law enforcement member and past the age of fifty, I am very offended that I am denied my right to purchase alcohol frpm a twenty one year old on a power trip. This seems to be s real hot issue at this establishment and it leaves one to wonder what type of incident occurred that makes the owners feel the need to have their staff do overly vigilant? This is not very reasonable to treat people over fifty like Teens with false identification. Leave enforcement to the appropriate officials. The excuse that you must possess valid form of identification is also best left to the police. Otherwise this is a pretty good place to shop for a bargain.

1/3/15 I really enjoy grocery shopping with my husband. We both like eating and have completely different tastes in food. I like everything, but Im more of a fish and veggie person, and hes more of a soda and cereal kind of guy. That means that we get to walk down every aisle finding stuff that one or the other wants to throw in the cart. Grocery Outlet has a lot of really great deals - who doesnt like to save money?! Most notable from our last trip here was the price of juice. A container that would cost $4-5 dollars at a bigger supermarket chain is around $2 here. Cans of tuna for less than $1 (mine), 10 lbs potatoes for $2 (his), frozen chopped spinach $1 (mine), Guava nectar $2.29 (his), broccoli medley $3.99 (mine), and bacon $3.99 (his). You get the picture. Awesome store for all the items you might regularly buy elsewhere but for a little less money!

Similar to most grocery outlets, love this place for all the same reasons. What can I say, I love this place. You have to take it at face value to appreciate what it is. Prices of Walmart, selection of a interesting specialty grocery store, can act as an in lieu convience store or one stop shop when needed. Great place to grab random items and a serious reduced price (such as protein powder, shampoo, cheese) Pros: Some items are serious steals (i.e cheese, protein powder, select wines and beers, hygienic products and vitamins, yogurt and deli meats) Carry a selection of products, so dont always have to go to multiple stores Have some fun finds and rare finds (flax milk, Famous Daves Bread, Crest Glamorous White toothpaste) Carry fundamental staples Cons: not all items are less than a grocery some items are only temporary damaged goods

We were there just a short while today and was not happy!!! Bought 3 cartons of beef broth at $1.99 each (advertised) and at the register it rang up $2.50 each and I told the cashier and "mary" (with a major attitude problem) that the beef broth is advertised for $1.99 each. So "mary" went to check with her "boss" and they came up with .97 refund??? I really did not know how they came up with a .97 refund when its supposed to be $1.53 refund. Mary said the "boss" is giving us .47 each for refund (.47 x 3 = 1.41), but that number does not add either. To make it short, I got $1.51 back and its still wrong! Have these people not know how to add or subtract??? I will NEVER step foot in that store again. I think Management needs to hire people who can provide "customer service" and have a better attitude towards the customers.

If I could give this store a rating of less that one star, I would. I am a 60 year old middle class woman, who when entering the store, was told I could not shop there since I had a backpack. I explained to the bagger, that it was a day pack and it was my purse. She still advised me that I could not shop with a day pack. I was honestly shocked. I have never been advised in a grocery store that I could not use my daypack. I carry a daypack at my doctors recommendation since I have a bad back. I did not see a post that said daypacks were not allowed, I have also shopped at this store for many years. I asked for a manager (who looked rather like a stock clerk) who repeated exactly what the bagger stated. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE AGAIN.

To milk a store quantity of products change so they might not have it the next time you go in and make you check your bags backpacks and everything at the front which could be dangerous since I carry my life and my backpack and they really dont secure very well so they lost it I would be in big big trouble so Im not a fan to go in there because I haveI have to leave my backpack at the front counter
