I shop in PC at least 4 or 5 times a week and by and large Im pleased with the selection and the service with a few exceptions. Unfortunately those exceptions are important. First is produce. The Saugerties PC produce is mediocre at best. Example I bought three vine ripened tomatoes last Monday. I went to use one yesterday and it was rotten. A lot of times the produce just doesnt - look fresh. Go to the larger PC in Catskill and compare. Theirs looks so much fresher. Another exception is the deli. On three separate occasions Ive bought ham, roast beef and turkey breast only to find the very next day that the meat had gone bad. Lastly is the ice cream freezer case which just doesnt keep the ice cream cold enough. I get home after a five minute ride and decide to have an ice cream treat and find it way too soft or on many occasions the pre made cones like Good Humor are soggy or the chocolate coating is all broken up from being mishandled. Now that said the PC workers are extreemly friendly and helpful. Seldom do I walk by one and not have them say hello or ask if I need help. This is very refreshing and something I dont find at Hanniford or Shop Rite. The Seafood department has some of the best and freshest fish in the area. I frequently have them fry up a couple of cod fillet for dinner. Delicious. The Bakery is also very well run. Fresh donuts and bagels are as good as you can get anywhere. The bagels are better than the bagel shop down the road. The deli people are very friendly and in spite of the exceptions Ive mentioned Price Chopper is a very nice supermarket. A lot better than most.

I was in price chopper today and there was a your kid working, very sweet. I was getting strawberries and he had come out with fresh ones so he was helping me pick ones that were on the better looking side. When a woman walked up and started rambling on and what he was suppose to be doing. She was there shopping with 2 small children. When she walked a way he was still trying to explain to her and she just turned and gave him this death look with her eyes. I knew she had to be a manager and sure enough she was. I was so disgusted with the rudeness and attitude that she expressed to one of her employees specially since she was there as a customer and not on the clock. I do not know her name only that she was in maybe her late 30s early 40s dark boyish hair cut. You should really start treating your employees with a little respect remember those beneath you are the ones that do most of the work.

They know the community of Saugerties is stuck getting groceries here. Service, prices, selection....all majorly lacking. Its worth a drive to Kingston or Catskill to go to another grocery store.

Its convenient but the produce varies from ok to awful. If I have to go to another supermarket to get everything I need why not just start at the other place?

Eh I prefer the one in Catskill. Pricechopper as a whole is amazing but my encounters with the employees in this specific one were not good. Very rude.
