I want too happy to see that they didnt have a 15 items or less check out other than the self check out.... Which does not work with alcohol. They only had 3 open checkers, and the lines were long! Each person in front of me had PILES of groceries in their baskets. Theyre TOO pricey at Safeway to continue this practice of having so little checkers open. However, the 4 stars was for the lady at the self check-out that agreed to ring me up because I had less than 15 items, but I had to put back my oranges because she didnt have a scale... Which I was totally ok with because I had some melons that were flat rate priced. Safeway looses a star for being chronically understaffed. Its not just this Safeway, but ALL Safeways in the East Bay. Moraga, CA BY FAR, hands down is the worst Ive EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Every single day ESPECIALLY Saturdays and Sundays, you have to plan to stand in a line that goes ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK OF THE STORE, at minimum 1 1/2 hours in line. It takes team work to check out there. 1 person to hold your place in line, and then the rest of your family to run around with carts (yes plural carts) to grab everything on the list, and even then you have to wait a good hour in line to buy groceries. Safeway generally disgusts me. I prefer Target or Grocery Outlet in pleasant Hill. I recommend go to anywhere else than Safeway. Too expensive and the lines are OBSCENE. But the one checker saved this review for her generous kindness to allow me to bypass the regular lines and she rang me up. The receipt shows her name was Rebecca the store number was 1541 and the time was 13:27. She alone saved this review. Store manager Eduardo Morales..... She needs to be recognized for her kindness AND sweet/happy disposition!!

I loved going to Safeway but recently I had an unpleasant experience. April 16th I called the bakery to let them know name was misspelled. I arrived 2:50 pm party was at 3:30 pm one person in bakery who tried to assist but couldnt find a box for the cake.Manager arrived overheard conversation where is everyone and dose someone know to decorate a cake. Was anxious ask to go next door to pick up food. Came back got the cake and left but the cart locked. Took what I could to the car returned cart missing. Went inside got my cake again and left. Told cashier yes paid for it. As putting away watched as they were calling police on me. I could understand the confusion but if I was stealing I wouldnt of left the food in the cart.At the party yup the name was still misspelled. Sent message to corporate. Bottom line probably going to lose me as a customer..by not being organized after all the person I spoke to on the phone wasnt professional.

Poor customer service. Stood at the Starbucks line this morning, was not greeted nor waited on while both workers stock tea. I ended up walking out which is when they finally noticed I was there. They hollered at me to come back but why give my business to a company that clearly doee not care if I am there or not. I buy my lunch and coffee here everyday - I will no longer and will be taking my business somewhere else. Best advice: if you dont want to be late for work, go somewhere else.

I was so discriminated I was with my wife and daughter and some lady that works there came up to me and said to pull up my pants because some elderly lady was offended people while shopping at stores should mind there own business i just moved into this area and I feel so dissapointed ! I didnt get the chance to get the ladys name or els Id say her name . ! You guys get ZERO stars! Actually I had to put one star to post this!

This Safeway location has the BEST bakery!!! I have been buying my cakes for celebrations here for more than a decade and they have never disappointed. I just got another beautiful cake for my childs 30th birthday and none of our guests could believe it came from a Safeway bakery. Very impressive. Excellent value. Thank you!

There is no customer service. When I asked a question in the produce department, the guy "got distracted" in the back and forgot me. The line at checkout was awful without being addressed. They say they are under new management. I say no management!

It does not seem to matter what time of day i go there or day of the week for that matter.... but i can count on it not being a quick or fulfilling experience. I heard that there was possibly new management. Hopefully that helps.

Learning that all safeways are 24 hrs. This is very convenient when you need to purchased things you need. Very clean place to shop. Produce is decent and flowers are good. Employees are always helpful and fun.

I like Safeway, but I dont love it. To be fair, there is no one grocery store for me. I do like their Safeway branded New York cheddar cheese and the Refreshe seltzer. Cant do without those.

One of my favorite grocery stores in all the USA. Excellent produce, awesome product mix, amazing staff. The parking lot is always busy, but thats because the store is great.

The internet at this safeway is terrible now. It actually does not have wifi. It connects and disconnect multiple times. Im using my phone data to review this at safeway.

Good Safeway in general, but the checkout lines have steadily gotten longer and longer. Took me at least ten minutes to check out and I was in the shorter of the lines

Sometimes hard to find things, but the staff is helpful and readily available. Well-equipped grocery bear the highway. Great for a quick lunch or the weekly staples.

Inadequate staffing. People were coming back from one of the busiest weeks of the year. It was all over the news. Abandoned carts everywhere in the store.

Dont come here at night. Its unsafe. None of the parking lot lights work and its way too dark. Who knows what bad can happen.

Always busy... nice staff. Regularly see homeless ppl around the store. Be alert in pkg lot... Always lots of ppl in & out.
