My recent issues started a few months back when I purchased 2 new tires, brakes and rotors for my Acura. Everything appeared to be going okay at the time of installation. After about 4 hours the car was ready; I paid around $900 and left. That night, driving on the highway, my car began to shake violently once the car hit around 60 mph. I brought the car back the next morning, told them about the shaking and told them the balancing was not done properly (if at all). I was assured that it would be fixed. After 30 mins, my car was ready and given back to me. The next day I drove onto the highway again and found the same violent shaking occurring. Again, the next morning I drove back out and spoke to the manager (Pat) who stated, "I will fix the problem personally and will guarantee it will be fixed right this time". Again, 30 mins later my car was returned and I was once again assured it was fixed. You can imagine my disgust when I drove to work that night and found the same issue. I drove back out the next morning and was told it cant be my balancing, it has to be some other issue and was given a rough estimate for another $600 to fix the problem which included 2 more tires and an axle among 3 other things. I said no, and drove the car straight to Acura who performed a 160 point inspected on the vehicle. They concluded there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car except the balancing. Yep....Back to Mavis...... I spoke to Pat again and he convinced me to purchase 2 more tires and he would balance the rear tire too. Finally, the issue was fixed after 4 attempts, 8 hours of wasted driving time and sitting around countless of hours waiting for an issue that should have been fixed on day one. Fast forward to a week ago, where against my better judgment, I decide to give them another chance. I needed 2 tires for my Toyota Sequoia so I called them an order the tires on Monday. I was informed they would be on site Wednesday. I drove out to the shop on Thursday at which time I was told, the tires where not there because they were sent to the wrong Mavis. I was assured they would correct the issue and have them by Saturday afternoon. I was asked to come back Sunday morning. I arrived 5 mins before opening on Sunday morning and spoke to Edward (Assistant Manager) about my issue. He logged me into the system, said "no problem, well get it taken care of for you but there are a bunch of people scheduled ahead of you, so it will be a couple of hours". I was not happy about this, because my appointment was for 3 days earlier, but what choice did I have? I left my car and had my wife drive out to pick me up. 3 hours later I get a phone call from Edward advising me my tires were not there (still at the wrong store) and it would be a couple more days. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This store used to be okay, but I have to conclude at this point, that they either dont care anymore or dont know what they are doing anymore. Do yourself a favor and save your sanity by going somewhere else. THIS STORE HAS BECOME A JOKE!

Went to get an inspection and left with 3 tires not tightened properly, the next week I heard a horrible knocking sound and took it to another mechanic bc I was scared to drive it, they told me my lug nuts were loose and my tires were actually banging while I was driving. I drive a 3 year old around in my car, when I called Mavis they claimed no responsibility and said the other garage was lying. They are the only place that took my tires off before this happened and a week earlier...I dont think its lying. They also claimed that I was suppose to go back after 25 miles to have them make sure everything is ok????? First I have never had a place tell me after an inspection I need to return after 25 miles, second if so then why wasnt I told at check out? Completely unprofessional and unsafe. You get what you pay for, are they cheap and easy yep...but not worth it for unsafe work.

I was able to get an inspection for my vehicle whose inspection had lapsed while I was on vacation. Pat, the manager, squeezed me in and got the job done in the 2 hours that he forcasted. One of the guys that did the inspection also found that I had covered up one of the brake lights which show through the rear window with a business graphic. It could have caused me to get a ticket! The worker removed it for me. Thanks to his conscientious approach to his work, he saved me some grief if I would have gotten if pulled over by the police.

Best Mavis in area. Ive been to 6 other locations in the area, but this one is the best one. Very convenient location between 9 and taconic, easy to get in and out, and a nice hill to "test" out your vehicle when done. Very friendly staff that communicated with me all the way. Went here for tires then for a tire repair, everything was done in a timely manner. Staff seemed to have a passion for cars and are willing to discus any concerns, unlike other locations that are there to do just do their jobs and only talk to you for payments.

Ive been going to Mavis for about 4 years, mostly to Freedom Rd in Poughkeepsie, but also to Pawling, and Fishkill. Oil change prices are the best around and I always get the free tire rotation. Their advertised tire prices are the best I can find, even better than Sams Club, and the prices on brakes are very competitive. The waiting area is less than deluxe, but there is a TV. Dunkin Donuts is next door if you want coffee and a snack while you wait. Wi-Fi is available at the Freedom Rd location, but not at all the others.

Pat and Chet are the best. They are perfect "Boy Scouts" friendly, kind, courteous, helpful etc. They treat us like family. The prices are good and fair, the place is clean and neat. The work is great and prompt. They do not try to over sell you, but try to save you money where ever they can. My family highly recommends Pat and Chet of Mavis Discount Tire.

If I could give this place negative stars I would, be it as it may I had to give one star. I recently had my car inspected almost two weeks ago and we started noticing a sound coming from the front wheels. We took it to a local garage and they found all four lug nuts for the front right tire loose. I think that pretty much sums it up. Avoid at all costs.

Great service, staff and prices. I will definitely be back for future services. Its so great to have a place that doesnt try to soak you for every dime with ridiculous prices. Its a good location too. This review is for the Lagrangeville location but somehow Google sticks it with a Poughkeepsie location.

Went it for a tire balancing they fixed a problem that the other local dealer caused. Needless to say I will not be going back to that dealer for my next tire rotation but back to Mavis. It took a little longer then I would have like but they fixed the problem. Thanks to David and the staff.
