Arrived saturday with two kids in tow and a doughnut on the car. Was quoted for the two tires I needed, but was told they couldnt get to it that day. I was obviously upset, but with the situation and not with them. I understood they were busy and asked if they could do it the next day. They could, so I asked if noon worked, I was told OK, they took my info and before I left the (I assume) manager told the guy behind the counter "give him $10 off per tire". Great! I arrive sunday, 10 minutes before noon. The guy who helped me the day before saw me and made a beeline through the door to the back. Uh oh, red flag. I tell the remaining person behind the counter that I was there for a noon appointment, and Im told they dont take appointments and he "may" be able to have the car done for me by the next morning. I explain what happened the day before (calmly at first) and all he could do is shrug and tell me in a rather nasty tone that more people came in this morning than he expected and there was nothing he could do. At this point I start to get a bit upset, after all while they may not take appointments (their website does say otherwise), I truly had no way of knowing what the fellow was typing on their computer and my understanding was that I had one. Eventually I got a sarcastic "have a nice day" and he started helping another customer. Ive been there before, and while theyre VERY slow (on a slow morning it took over an hour to get two tires installed) theyve at least done the work for a reasonable price. However, slow, rude and unreliable doesnt come close to making up for a moderately good price (maybe $20 cheaper than another shop in town). So, to summarize - Very slow service, Not much cheaper than the alternatives, and horribly unreliable. The manager seemed great from my limited interaction with him, but unfortunately he was not around when I came back the second time (so no idea if that would have helped). Certainly not worth rolling the dice and hoping for service, when you can go elsewhere and actually get the work done.

I needed two basic new tires for the front end of 00 Jeep. After calling around, Mavis had the cheapest quote - good. But, the poor score is because of the lack of customer service by some of their staff, a longer wait time that estimated by almost double, a failure to give me a print-off of my alignment check without even an offer of going over the specific details of my alignment check, and a failure to honor a specific request about the level of the windows in the car. I will say that there was an obvious difference in politeness, attentiveness, and attitude between the two men working the front desk. Right off that bat, that did not give me a good feeling. I was also told over the phone that the whole procedure would take an hour, then in the shop I was told 1 1/2 hours, and it wound up being 2 hours. And, when I called, I specifically asked for all necessary costs to be included in my quote but when I got there I was told that I also "definitely would need an alignment." Well, no one had even looked at my vehicle yet. So, instead I asked for an alignment check so that I could bring the print-off home and evaluate further work with my husband. After the work was done, their printer had apparently jammed but even after I asked them about the findings of the check, no one offered to discuss them with me. I also was clear with them in the beginning that my windows are not working (mechanically) reliably, and since I just paid someone else to raise them, to please not move them on the chance that the power switch decides to work. They drive the car around after the work was done and the drivers side window is 100% down. Overall, it was a frustrating experience and even though the price was right, I will not be going back again.

To Seth you were scammed. However here is my investigative assessment here personally. Walk in after phone call. Discussed order, the tire jockey not a trained tech according to professional ethics and standards tried to drive my high performance vehicle with the parking brake engaged, he became annoyed when I walked up to him and asked, is the prkng brake on. Next they want to open my hood to perform a tire replacement, this is not at all necassary, this company will not perform any nonengine service without opening your hood. Are they a negligent shop ? Most who chsrge the cheapest is not always the highest quality trained personel. Mavis hires off the street with no previous knowledge or exp. Knowing this about this company, ordered the removal of my vehicle and drove away. Any vehicle that cannot be repaired in a day is unconsionable unless parts are out of stock. I investigate negligent businesses. So no reply is required from this shop who is going to puplically online suggest I call downstate to their mt kisco locstion who Steve the Owner and others who will either comfort you, appease you or antagonize you for calling. This review reflects all unprofessional shops in NY, my visit was the N. Glensfalls location, Hartsdale location, Lynbrook location.

I called the day before and said should I make an appointment to have my balljoint replaced. I was told should be okay to just come in, so I went the next morning. I arrived at the shop at 8:30 and they told me they will get me right in. I understand that there is wait times for the work but there was 2 people ahead of me. I wouldnt have minded but they had people coming in all day and getting them out as soon as they can. My SUV finally went in to the garage around 12:45. Im actually writing this in the shop, and it is now nearly 2:00. Im in awe that it can take nearly 6 hours for what was supposed to be a ball joint replacement but turned out to be a tie rod end and alignment. I saw people going into the garage all day, and my vehicle was sitting there for nearly 4 and a half hours, I missed my class as well because of this. The only positive thing was one of the workers that were very professional. While the price may be good, expect to wait 3 or more hours to get your vehicle back, at least that was my experience and the few people that were waiting as well.

I was extremely disappointed in my experience with Mavis. I had an 8 am appointment for them to replace a bad tire I had purchased at a different Mavis location. I had been there earlier in the week and was advised to make the appointment. I understand that things like this take time, but my car sat in the parking lot for over two hours before it was even brought into the garage. After 45 minutes went by I went to the desk to ask how long it would be. I was completely ignored by two employees at the desk. Finally another employee acknowledged me, and I was told that it would be a bit longer because everyone had to "unload a tire shipment." Im a very patient person, but this was just over the top. It ended up being a 4.5 hour wait for ONE tire to be changed and I had an appointment. I would have been less disappointed with my experience, but the customer service was practically non-existent and made it worse. I will not be going back to Mavis.
