I used to work for the MAIN Fred Meyer Production Bakery back in the 90s! - No "Black, Native American" Man could ever POSSIBLY find... a more RACIST group of Employers & Bosses anywhere in in the entire nation of "Ameri-"KKK"-A"... They "use" Union Affiliated Journeyman Bakers, intimidating em, drumming up false & baseless sexual harassment charges, forcing em to quit! - It didnt work on me, but they had a cozy deal with the Bakers Union that isnt in the best interests of the Employees! - a 90-Day probationary period, even for those who are already Full-Fledged 100%, Bakers Union Members... then they terminate you on the final day, not allowing you to punch the time clock to become a "PERMANENT MEMBER" in the state of Oregon! - So much for "UNIONS," here in "AMERI-"KKK"-A!" - They make "CLOSET DEALS" FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT," behind their Union Bakery Members backs!!! - This is why Im glad their no longer MY BOSS! - When I got wind of what they were doing, I immediately got another job at a Restaurant making the same amount of money... as a chef! - I always left my "employment options" open, when it came to working any job! - Please keep in mind that: "This particular "Fred Meyer" establishment, is not the place where I worked at!" - This place just carries that same name! - I worked at the Main Bakery where they I created Danish/French Pastries, Cakes, Bagels, Doughnuts, Muffins & all sorts of Buns & Breads!

Fred Meyer in Oregon City is what youd expect from a grocery / department store. The prices are a little high in some areas, but reasonable elsware. The produce is always good quality and often cheeper than the seconds they try to pass off at albertsons down the road. Most electronics are less expensive than those at Radio Shack, but just a tad higher than those at Best Buy. Clothes are decent quality and reasonably priced between K-Mart and Target prices, comparable to JC Pennys. The customer service is 2nd to none. The customer service desk is always there to help you find something, and they never have a bad aditude about returns. I have a blind friend who shops there frequently and I found out that Fred Meyer has kids who will walk arround the store and help him find everything he needs on a moments notice. The checkers are friendly and quick. They know how to ingage you in friendly small talk without slowing down the line. The bathrooms are clean and accessable. They have a child care area with responsible and mature ladys to take care of your young children while you shop in peace for a couple hours. Over all Id say its a great one stop shopping experience. Oh, and I do not work for Fred Meyer in any respect, so no dog in the fight here. :)

Unfortunately, this is my neighborhood Fred Meyer. Always crowded, no matter what time of day you arrive. It is often like an obstacle course, maneuvering around other shoppers, gigantic toy carts for the children, and huge stock carts in the aisles. The employees have always been friendly and helpful but I have my doubts about effective management. The smaller grocery carts are wonderful, but I can NEVER find them available when entering the store. I have been given so many different excuses as to why they arent available at any given time. Even the carry baskets that should always be available at both entrances are gone much of the time. If I come on a Saturday any time past noon, you can bet there will be plenty of staples already picked over as if there had been a hurricane warning. I have been in many different Fred Meyers, and this is by far the worst! I challenge anyone to compare this with Tualatin Fred Meyer, a much cleaner, organized, well-stocked, and cart-available store. Too bad its not in my neighborhood!

I have no issues with Fred Meyers, other than they need more parking. This review is for the recent addition of a Starbucks kiosk inside. I would NOT recommend spending your money for coffee here. They need MORE TRAINING! Go to the actual retail Starbucks outside and around the corner. The one outside has been temporarily closed so I really had no other choice, as I was on my way to work. If they have someone call in, they pull another employee from another dept. When I came in here, the older lady at the register couldnt understand my simple request. The other lady making one of my other drinks was quite unfriendly. She obviously came from the deli/bakery and didnt seem happy to be making coffee. I was then handed my daughters iced tea drink, it was made incorrectly and when I told her this, no apology from her. She remade it the correct way, hands were shaking and she was spilling it all over the place. I tried this location two times. I wont be back. Maybe if they consider training......

To management: I spend thousands of dollars at your store each month and have been for years. You guys cant seem to keep anything in stock anymore! Why!? This is the talk of the town and so frustrating cause Safeway sucks and Hagen is gone. Almost every time we go there is always something out (mainly popular food items). Today I went to get a plunger and of course you were out of plungers. I dont know if you dont have enough employees, lazy employees or lazy management maybe cause most problem start at the top and work their way down. Either way I know Im not the only customer who has complained as many people I have talked to in town a have complained. Please get your act together and make your customers happy and raise revenue at the same time! Win win for everyone!

I brought back two empty mulch bags; although the sku was the same, one bag contained bark mulch but the other contained high quality dirt. I even showed the cashier a photo comparing the two, in my yard. Poor young man offered nothing but an apology. After I asked for the PIC, everything went beyond expectations! Andrew, PIC for the Garden Dept, not only escorted me to Customer Service, but explained my situation, in order to expedite my transaction. I drove off with the right product minutes later. Its this type of "beyond expectation" service Ive frequently experienced in the Oregon City Fred Meyer over the past 18 years.

Nothing is ever stocked. But yet theres carts that need to be stocked in the grocery aisles.. bad customer service. The older lady that works customer service is extremely rude, pushy, and seems to always need to give bad looks.. the guys in the butcher block dont know what they are talking about. The deli isnt much better. I asked for three different types of meat. Only got one that I asked for. The coffee shop inside the store is over priced watered down coffee. 3.50 for a large black coffee. Super busy. Cashiers are slow... I prefer to go to the clackamas store. Much better.

The OC location is as a rule filthy and more often than not you find row after row of empty spaces on the shelves and in the coolers. Whats even more fun are the scores of people walking and holding their little and big PET dogs inside the food, meat and produce department spreading feces and urine not to mention the dander, hair and allergens for the poor dog allergic child and adults. These spineless losers dont have the balls to uphold food safety laws and kick these people out. I have started filing a complaint with the health department for every dog I see in there.
