After having 4 new tires put on my truck (2005 Nissan xterra), I noticed they charged me about $60 to "rebuild" the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) valves on each wheel. I did not request this, nor was I asked to perform the repairs). When I picked up the truck, TPMS the light was on. I went in and the guy at the counter said it should go off after 50 miles or so, I was assured it would go out after re-setting?. I drove it a few days, and 300 miles later, light was still on. After calling customer service, a guy called my husband and said to go back and they will "take care of it" and remove the charges. My husband went back and while they did remove the charges, all they did was have some kid check all the tire pressures. My husband then said that the light was still on. The front desk person said he was sorry, but there was nothing they could do, they did not know how to reset the TPMS. My husband (in front of about 4 other customers) yelled, well, if you guys dont know how to complete a repair, which no one requested, you should not mess with peoples cars. We also have to continuously put air in the front left tire due to them not applying bead sealant to the alloy wheels like the Mavis down the street in Fishkill does. We have been using Mavis for over 15 years, and this was our first bad experience. In advance of any response from their Management, stop performing unnecessary repairs, period.

I use this shop for simple jobs. Tire changing, oil changes, inspections and nothing else. Im mechanically inclined but certain jobs is just easier when you have a lift, as they do, so I let them do it. For these jobs they have been great for me. I cant comment on their other services so take my review as-is. I took a star off because they do try and sell me things the vehicles dont need, which is a bit annoying. I would never take any of my vehicles here to have them figure out an issue, Im sure it would be an experience as the other reviewers are stating.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! The service manager there (forget his name) used to work at the fishkill one and there is ALWAYS something that needs to be replaced...over the last 5 years Ive brought 3 different vehicles to Mavis and they always try to tell me around $700 worth of work done, first with my 03 civic, than when I got my 01 mazda the same thing....my wife has an 08 dodge nitro, same thing...im willing to bet if i brought the brand new versa i just bought theyd try to tell me id need work done. CON ARTISTS!!!!!!!

They replaced my catalytic converter, and when I informed them I believed it was defective and requested a replacement under the warranty, they claimed they did not have the tool to check why the engine light came on. I have been informed that that tool is required to perform inspections, which they do all the time...they were just too lazy. When I disputed the charge with American Express, they claimed I could have had it replaced under warranty...isnt that what I requested???????

Overall I was happy with my Mavis in tarrytown. This location is unethical and upsells unnecessary service options that dont get completed. Told me I needed brake flush that was just completed at dealer and sold alignment, couldnt provide readout. When they finally came back with paper print out for another car, it was obvious an alignment was not needed and should not have charged $120!!! Corporate will not return request for explanation. Poor business practice.

Excellent service! I had a bad experience with another Mavis in White Plains and I contacted the Manager of this location to advise me what to do in my case. Frank was very understandable of my situation and asked me to take the car in to them and they fixed the mess up at no charge. I have done business with the in the past and from now on will not take my vehicle to any other location but here.

Bring a book because you will be here a while. Its a doctors office for your car. Dont trust them to call you right away if you drop off your car.
