I was looking for a Honda,Accord with great low mileage and gently used. I went to Roanoke searching because my friend had just went to Roanoke and found him a nice Honda Accord and he got a great deal considering his circumstances because the difference between him and me was I was paying cash he was financing. I went to the place he said he purchased his and found nothing. I went to 6 different lots that day and I found nothing,by this time I was feeling defeated the last place I didnt even want to stop but I did so I was looking around I saw a Lexus I really would have loved to have it was fully loaded and just a great looker but it was fully loaded with a lot of miles, and of course they tried convincing me they run for ever and are great cars,but me being set in my mind of what I wanted wasnt having it so then I see this Honda Accord 2 door 2014 and proceeded to check it out it had under 64,000 miles wasnt fully loaded but practically still loaded with the things I wanted except a sunroof and I was in love I took it for a test ride and it like a kitten didnt have that V6 engine like my Pontiac did that I can say its a wonder I didnt have a thousand tickets but I was capable of getting up it burns gas more unlike the Pontiac to get up but I can deal with it.The guy knew it was a great car and worth the asking price and didnt throw in any incentives like a full tank he said he would look out when I came to pick up my tags but like the car they had just got it in and hadnt been detailed they didnt offer to do that and being that I was paying cash its not that great for them because they dont get interest because no financing so its a great place to find a great deal on cars but the dealers want that financing customer preferred but they will take your money too,just dont expect perks with a cash purchase.I would buy from them again if I had too but will shop around for a more enthusiastic dealer who doesnt mind the cash or financing.

Stay away far away I purchased a work truck from them as I own a service business our vehicles are very important to us I remember them bragging how nice and well taken care of it was I waited over a week for them to wash it and I payed for it in advance hoping that this would speed up the process because being a small business owner this motivates me I was mistaken to say the least had the truck exactly 3 days and the transmission blew up I was pissed I called them talked to Bonnie the most rude and heartless selfless person I have delt with in my life obviously she is family because anyone else she be in the unemployment line I asked them to help me pay at least half they told me in a laughing voice no the owner told me he didnt care because it was as is warranty you expect after spending 9000 dollars that the transmission would last more than 3 days so do your self a favor go elsewhere dont get screwed like I did and by the way Salem Pre Owned aint much better buyer beware

What had started as a great experience has turned into a nightmare! Within less than 6 weeks of purchasing a car (from what was supposed to be a reliable dealer) has been brought back 4 times to their shop! Now the gear shift cable has snapped and is (of course) not covered by the warranty nor has the Rod Shop agreed to cover any of the costs. Having spoken to the Sales Manager who said "well remember you bought a used car". My response was "after less than 6 weeks of driving locally the car should have lasted longer than this especially since they did a Virginia inspection and it passed!" I have learned a very expensive and painful lesson trying to deal with them. I let them know angrily (while yelling!) I was frustrated with their lack of care and road-worthiness of the car. They should be ashamed of themselves and I will suggest to my friends and family to NEVER to use these folks!

You can just tell this place is a terrible buisness as soon as you walk in. Every person that works here are just the worst kinds of people. They dont care about their customers, they just care about their money. I guess I should have guessed considering the original owner got sent to jail for dealing. This place is a joke. I have no clue how theyre still around. Please take my advice and every other review on here and dont even consider this place. They only reason there is good reviews is because their friends or family of the owners or employees. DO NOT BUY FROM RODS AUTO.
