I purchased several hundred dollars of hunting supplies recently. On my first outing I realized that the camo archery clothing all creaked like an old door, basically unusable for hunting. I called the clerk to talk about some kind of store credit and told him I could show the credit card statement with the big charge but I had lost the receipt. No returns without a receipt he said. Fair enough, I just wanted to talk to the manager or owner to see if I could work something out for at least partial store credit since my $200 worth of gear they shouldnt even be selling was junk. Twice he repeated that they were very busy people and couldnt be bothered with something this small. Apparently, working in a Montana sporting goods store makes you a VIP. It wasnt small to me and they already had my money so I was insignificant. In summary, quality of stock is junk and of low quality. Staff are jerks.

This is the go to place for many things hard to find. All the outdoor sports places in Helena have have strengths but the best deals and average every day prices are here. They have remodeled over the last few years expanding. Great deals on guns, but shop around bu go here ad part of any search. They will get it if you cant find it. Ammo difficult to find is here. Water sports deals are hard to beat and after season clothing deals cannot be beat. My fave in town but I like them all and go here first.

I have bought several weapons/guns ammo, boots gloves anything a person needs for the Montana outdoors(hence the name) and the staff is usually always busy, which to me indicates a thriving business. Buy from an independent over a box store it helps our community.

Have been in this store twice and both times the owner was a total a-hole. I feel sorry for anyone who works there. Take you money and go to any other sporting goods store in Helena. Avoid this store.

Rented a boat. It was ready when promised; Staff was friendly and helpful. Boat had all accessories. Although i should have been charged extra for returning it late, i was not charged extra.
