One of our favorite stores! Some complain about selection, to that I would say: "are you crazy?" Its the only place that I know of in Helena to carry Patagonia and Sherpa (two of my favorite brands). Some complain about pricing, to that I would say: "shop at the right time!" I get that families are on a budget. We have one toddler with another baby on the way. However, we prefer to buy quality items that will last and The Base Camp stocks quality. Bob is an all-around good guy whenever hes working. Our daughter thinks hes awesome. Kudos to him that she knows "Bob from Base Camp." The ONLY issue we run into at times is that those working the register arent the nicest people in the world. Mean? No. Rude? Not necessarily. Just average in kindness. Overall, we enjoy the heck out of Base Camp Helena and will definitely be back!

The staff at Base Camp are always helpful and exceedingly knowledgeable about the various facets of outdoor equipment. Asking rather dumb questions, I wasnt talked down to. Love these guys/gals! It pays to buy local!

Best selection in Helena. Polite and knowledgeable staff help get you what need from their extensive inventory of outdoor goodies. Really, for outdoor gear if they havent got it, you dont need it.
