It was uncomfortable for me. My salesman Vic was alright. I drove a Tacoma with him, and he was pretty positive. The route he navigated me on wasnt very good though. Not for the Tacoma at least. Maybe a limitation of the location though. Honestly I wish I had taken more time to play with the truck in the lot or on some back street until I was more comfortable with it. I really did like the truck. I just wanted a different trim and color and a manual tranny. When I told Vic I wasnt interested in that particular truck he became very mediocre. I told him what I wanted, and I also told him that Id like to check out a Ram pickup before making my decision. So apparently that means I wasnt worth his time anymore. I could have asked more questions and he would of probably answered them. But he just didnt seem to care anymore. He rubbed me wrong. I didnt like him at all by the end of it. I really wanted to price out my own custom truck to in case I wanted to order one. But by that point Vic was done with me. So I figured Iay as well be done with him. Maybe I rub ed him wrong too he left him feeling betrayed. I did stall out the truck I guess. Maybe thats why. Who knows.....I went to my local Ram dealer and talked to their guy awhile Ive bought from them, and dealt with them a lot. My whole family has and they took care of me. Even after I told them I was interested in a Tacoma as well and I wasnt buying anything. I got to look at anything I wanted, priced a truck and had a pleasant chat. If that had been Vic I think hed of lost interest in me. To bad that Ram dealer doesnt sell Tacomas. Im starting to think the manual 2500 Ram diesel is to much truck and to expensive for me. So Ill be ordering a custom Tacoma I think in the near future to satisfy my craving for a new manual tranny truck. It wont be from Vic though. No offense Vic if you read this but you and me just didnt click is all. I saw very positive reviews here mentioning your name. Im sure youre a good dude.

I went in to your offices on Memorial Day to test drive a Scion IQ. I really liked the car and I am so disappointed by how I was treated, especially after hearing nothing but great things about Maplewood Toyota. What it comes down to for me is that I am not comfortable making a $15,000 decision in the 30 minutes I was at the dealership. The person I spoke to was Matthew Anderson. At first he was very nice, asking about my day, work, etc. I then went out and checked out the car, test-driving it for about 20 minutes. Then when I told him I needed some time to think it over he said “then what are we doing here?” I said I wanted to see the car, test drive it, and see what type of payment I would have (I am still currently leasing another vehicle and needed time to see if I could afford both vehicles until October when my other lease ends). He then said “You go to work and get paid, I come to work and don’t get paid until I make a sale,” as if it’s my fault he chose to be in this profession and that if I don’t purchase this car, what… his family will starve or something?? I was stunned, I didn’t know whether to respond, be mad, laugh or just walk away from his pitying comment. I then said “Listen, my intention is not to waste your time, I just wanted to see my options, get a feel for the car. I just need a day or two to think about this decision” His reply: “Well you are kind of wasting my time”. After a moment of silence he says “but it was still nice to meet you”. Can you believe that! I really wish I was making this up. Matthew says he has been in the business of selling cars since 1997, and if this is the case, I feel bad for the people who gave in to his bullying and bought a car from him. No matter how much I love a car and want to buy it, I simply cannot make that big of a decision in 30 minutes (and I doubt Mathew or anyone else for that matter would), and being bullied and put down just simply makes me lose respect for your organization.

Love the car, hate the dealer. Bought a 2013 Toyota corolla with certified warranty. Through out the building and on TV you see claims of Toyota reliability, even from the sales lady that said she knew people that had 500K on Corollas. When I got to see the finance/sell you stupid insurance guy that changed. $2000 for a 7 year warranty on my super reliable Corolla. Even though the car has a 7 year power train warranty since its certified. The $2000 warranty doesnt cover brakes or tires or even wiper blades. I had 2 chevy prizms (basically a corolla made by toyota with a chevy emblem on it) that didnt need $2000 in repairs over the 10 years I have had them, probably less than $1000. The finance guy says that they have 17 computers in them now instead of 3 10 years ago so those will could break and cost a lot, I still dont know why Toyota would put more computers in cars to make them more prone to break down. They also sold me GAP insurance that was $15 a month and I found my insurance company sells it for $6. I have read some sell it for less than that. I also signed up for the oil change plan. 4 years/48000 miles. I still dont know if this is a deal or not since the finance guy didnt even know what it covered even though he claimed to own the car I was getting. My corolla needs oil every 10K miles and I got two different accounts of tire rotation is every 5000 miles and oil is every 10k or oil is 10k and tires are rotated 10k but started 5000 miles sooner than the oil change. I also dont know if this plan included a 5th oil change since it would be due at 50000 miles. I originally signed up for the warranties since I needed a car immediately but later went back and canceled all three plans since they didnt seem like they were worth it. I hope I never have to go back to Maplewood Toyota. The only reason I would is if they force me to get a recall issue fixed, otherwise I will try Inver Grove Toyota.

My partner and I had a fantastic experience with David Pates! We tried a few other dealerships first and were really frustrated, being first time buyers. I have a decent bit of experience with cars thanks to my father, but I was openly teased and subtly mocked elsewhere as though other dealers thought because we were new and didnt have amazing credit, that we were also stupid and gullible. Nevermind the fact that I am a woman and most of the other salesmen would barely even speak to me even though I am the primary driver and the one actually purchasing the vehicle! We even got told that my partner was only helping me and letting me talk to "keep me happy". How insulting considering how much money hes helping with for MY vehicle. Here we were greeted as we walked up right away and David already had the car I had inquired about earlier ready for us when we arrived (even though we were 30min early). Even though our finances didnt quite fit the vehicle, David let us drive it and then helped walk us through the application process and all our other options. Ultimately he was able to help me settle and finance a 2012 Toyota Yaris. I couldnt be happier. The car is in fantastic condition, but equally as important was how much time Dave spent helping us on top of how incredibly polite and patient he was. I never had the feeling that he was just trying to push a sale, despite the fact that I know thats what any salesperson would ultimately want, and he took the time to help us find what worked for us and our budget. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone, especially if youre new to vehicles. They dont try to hide their Carfax (or lack thereof) and will happily walk you through any questions as well as work within your budget. I am very happy with my car!!! 10/10!
