If you are looking for a quality auto dealership do NOT go to these guys.. Barely any of their cars are washed or cleaned. I walked in the dealership and the first words that came out of one of the salesmans mouth was, "which car are you buying today?" Rude. I showed them what car I wanted to see (which was dirty) and the belt was screaming like crazy. So I asked to see a similar car/model which was newer and was dirty as well. He mentioned that the owner is driving the vehicle. I opened the door and there were french fries on the floor and straw wrapper on the seat and not to mention the passenger seat was laid back like some homey was riding in it. Pretty un-professional place and not to mention the salesman didnt try or care very much about what I thought. Total waste of time at this dealership. He also mentioned they get a tons of cars a week and doesnt have the time to know everything about each car. By the looks of it, its a bunch of cars that people traded in that has problems and went to some sort of low price bulk discount lot. You want junk, come here. - A true human review.

We recently bought a Lincoln MKT from Bart at Dakota Motors and had a very positive experience that really could have been a headache. Bart was honest and fair in all of our interactions with him. The buying process was quick and easy. Last time we bought a car the "signing the deal" part took FOREVER and they kept wanting to talk us into extras. Not Bart. He had us checked out and driving home in less than 30mins. After we got home, we had a few issues pop up with the car. After a couple of easy conversations, we brought the car back and he fixed us up. No negotiations or shady-ness, just honest work. I would totally recommend Dakota Motors. They are honest, reliable and efficient. After reading other reviews, I should note that good buying behavior if you are getting a used car is to ask for the Carfacts and to bring it to a third party to have it inspected after you purchase it (their cars come with a 30 day warranty).

We drove down to the cities from Fargo, ND to find an affordable Lexus RX350. We found 2 in Minneapolis, both around the price we wanted to spend. They both ended up having many problems that we would have to fix. We were told "you wont find a Lexus in perfect condition for that price". We had almost given up (it was 5pm on Saturday) when a search on carsoup turned up one more- same year, same miles- for that same price at Dakota Motor Co. Although it was past their closing time, they agreed to stay open another hour for us to get to Farmington to test drive the vehicle. We loved it but were hesitant to purchase without having a mechanic check it out because of our two prior experiences that day. They offered to take the car back with no questions if we were to find any problems at the shop. We drove it home, had it checked out, and it is in perfect condition. We are more than happy with our purchase and our experience.

I made an appointment to go view a pickup truck, driving two hours to get there. I arrive on time. Of course they just happen to have someone out driving the pickup truck and low and behold they buy it. Understandably it is first come, first serve, but hello there is no private office to even let people know quietly. I stood around for 20 minutes while the salesperson hmmed and hawed and seemed totally clueless about anything. Never bothered to tell me the truck was sold. Never bothered to apologized nor offered to show me anything else. I had to ask if the truck was sold. It was embarassing and rude for both myself and the guy that bought the truck. If they treat buyers like that, how will they treat you if something goes wrong? Dont do business with this company unless you are a local. They are the epitome of the slick, used car sales place.

We bought a Honda Pilot from them in Summer of 2012. They provided us with the carfax on the car, the title of the car was clean. It was a lease return bought in auction from the East Coast as they clearly stated and confirmed with carfax. I saved at least $5k on this car compared to a dealer for a similar lease return car at a dealership most likely bought from the same type of auction but then buffed up and sold by a salesman in suit and tie in a posh dealership building with free snacks and popl Based on the other review I read about them, I think it is a choice of whether one is comfortable buying from a no-frill dealership with no-frill sales people or a dealership with all the pomp and paying the extra premium (substantial) for it. Based on my experience I have referred several of my friends to them.

We found a vehicle on the Dakota Motors website and travelled 260 miles from out of state to purchase. This dealership is pretty busy and it took us a little bit to sit down with a salesman. We liked the car and worked with Ryan to make a deal. They offer a 30-day warranty on their vehicles which is only valid at their own shop. However, 15 days after the purchase we had our front catalytic converter fail, and it wasnt feasible for us to take the car back for repairs. We called Dakota and they sent us a check to cover the cost of the part, no hassle. After installing the new part, it was discovered that the rear catalytic converter was also plugged up. We talked to Ryan again and he sent us another check to cover the cost of this part as well. Very pleased with how they worked with us after the sale.

I would stay away if you have to call and schedule a test drive. I made an appointment today at 5:30 to test drive a vehicle - I was told that would be fine. I was also asked to fill out a pre-approval application to expedite the process, which I did. I left work early, battled an hour-long traffic jam from Minneapolis to Farmington, and still arrived 20 minutes early. When I announced myself and pointed out the car I asked to test drive, I was told by a man that mumbled (Im deaf so this posed a problem) that it was sold 10 minutes prior. Not only did they not honor my appointment, they never called to inform me that someone else was looking at the vehicle. When I said I had driven an hour to get there early, I was met with a shrug and a "sorry." Im never doing business there.

Went to purchase a car that they said was mechanically sound. Salesperson went to put gas in the car because it was on E, and then when he came back the engine light was on - showed a code for a problem that could be very costly to fix. I had a bank check with made out to them and the vehicle was already added to my insurance policy; so I was prepared to drive it away. Salesperson said they would check it out on Monday when their tech was at work( I was there on a Saturday - 250 miles from my home ) and call me then to let me know what they were going to do with the car. ( Fix it or send to auction) NEVER CALLED - so I bought a car elsewhere. My only issue with them is the Very Poor Follow Up! I hope the owner of this sidewalk dealer takes care of this problem.
