We recently went to the Mundelein store to look at some blinds. When we were there, nobody was knowledgeable enough to help us, so they suggested someone give us a call. A couple days later, which was a Monday, we received a phone call around 6pm asking if we were available to come in to meet with Tim. After agreeing that 7:30pm would work for us, just moments after we hung up, he called back and asked if we could come in at 8pm. We agreed that time would work. We arrived at the Mundelein store at 7:45pm, and when asked for Tim we were told he stepped out but would be right back. 8:20 roles around and we have not seen any sign of Tim. 8:45pm rolled around, and we go to customer service for the 3rd time - we were told they have no idea where he is. Although it was raining that evening, waiting an hour for someone who asked us to come at 8pm is NOT acceptable. To make matters worse, nobody called us the next day. We ended up calling the store, and the person we spoke to was apologetic. We ended up going back to the store that following Wednesday and ordering the blinds - the manager on duty was kind enough to give us a 10% discount due to the fact we were stood up for our first appointment. During this visit, we purchase vertical blinds for our patio door, which were in stock - we were told they could be cut here and we would then just need to pick them up, but not to forget otherwise they would ship them and charge us for the shipping. We agreed to pick up the vertical blinds the following week on Tuesday. A week later Tuesday, we went to go pick up the vertical blinds - and to our surprise, our vertical blinds were not even cut! Another wasted trip there! The manager on duty apologized again, and said that they would ship the blinds to us at no charge, in time for our installation of the remaining custom blinds. Thats about the only thing they did right. If the employees there could just get things right the first time around…or at least second, they wouldnt have to be apologetic. Needless to say, we will NOT be going to this location ever again.

Ordered a front door made by Feather River with Mundelein, IL, Home Depot, including home install. >$1,500. To start things off, we got called saying there was a problem with our payment, so would have to pay again. We paid second time. Of course we got charged TWICE! But no payment in the Home Depot system. This delayed affairs for over 1 week. Took 2 weeks to get a refund. Next, came the FIRST! install. Awful, cracks on door, broke some of the frame and replaced with cheap timber, marks on floor, marks on door. Looked like a second hand door once they where finished with it. Got it inspected, and turns out door was bad quality. Replacement ordered. After about 1 month, got 3 calls over 1 week asking that I pickup the door myself. Even a visit to store did not solve this! Explained each time we paid for installation. Lost another week! This time on day of SECOND! install, got call from installer saying he does not recommend installing this door. Threshold was not square, structurally not sound, and installer was not happy with quality of door. Went in store asking how we should resolve this. Got a blank look. I asked for a different manufacturer since we had two issues with 2 doors already. Went away, Al produced a quote, and I came to pick it up/discuss a few days later. This time I was greeted by an extremely rude and aggressive employee called Josh saying this was not a Home Depot problem. Feather River doors are good quality. They produced a new quote but wont be as good as original door. Very aggressive and rude. I walked away in shock with how I just had been treated, with my new quote in hand, and zero confidence that Home Depot can solve this issue. It has now been over 3 MONTHS, and I do not have the product I originally paid for. Add to that, no end in sight either. All I can say is AVOID doing business with this Home Depot!! J.

Just had an awful experience at the mundelein store. Went in with a piece of copper pipe that my brother had purchased yesterday from the store, I needed it cut again because he didnt have them cut it exactly the right size the day before. Talked to Dom or Don, a knowledgeable looking older gentleman, and he told me that the only way he could cut the pipe is if I purchased a pipe cutter. He asked two other older men in the plumbing dpt. if it could be done, they immediately told me that they dont cut pipe. Left the store, called my brother, and he told me that they have a big machine just for cutting pipe that they used for him.. Drove back, front desk called Dom/Don again, and he led me to a back storeroom where he said they may have a hacksaw that he could try and use. I asked him about the pipe machine, he told me that he doesnt know how to use it. Walked to the pipe machine, a very friendly and helpful employee named Chris cut the pipe exactly how I needed it in about 30 seconds. I was offered a free soda on the way out, no thanks. Never had problems at the Vernon Hills store, at this store I had three employees lie to my face.

I am a contractor. I called millwork department to get some pricing on some doors. Not regular doors , over $500 dollars doors. I got the impression the guy was not interested in trying to help me to get a price on this special order. Not a problem, I called the HD in Vernon Hills, if I dont hear from them by tomorrow, I will probably get my materials at Lowes, Hynes or Lee Lumber. Keep it up HD or your are on the same direction as EXPO.

I used the HOme Depot in Mundelein to order windows for my home remodeling project. The millwork department was fantastic; particularly Al Ramos. He reviewed our design, made some cost savings suggestions / modifications and followed up every step of the way. He even called on his days off to provide updates. I highly recommend the Home Depot in Mundelein if you are looking for great prices coupled with fantastic customer service.

I love the people who work at this store. There is an older guy who is just as sweet and cool as could be. However, the service people they send out for doors or windows or other home services, we have had bad experiences with those subcontractors. Poor communication and lack of accountability.

The staff at this Home Depot are the most helpful and cheerful Ive ever met. They are more than willing to go out of their way to assist and answer questions. The store is clean and organized. This is the only Home Depot I will shop at for now on, such a pleasant experience!
