I come to this Home Depot at least once a month and yesterday had a terrible experience. The one star they are getting was for Tony who did an excellent job helping us in the lumber section. The person wearing thick framed glasses staring at his phone in the self checkout was apathetic to find help. The "manager" Tracy told us she took forever coming to help us. This Home Depot has been hiring horrible people and the HD culture has been lost. It annoying at the very least to go to a different store for lumbar now too, as I try to shop smaller locally owned hardware stores, with people at the ready to help you. At a time with so many stores closings, you would think employees would understand why customers are important, however this store just doesnt care, I can guarantee it starts with the management.

Clean store organize thought it was brand new but it has actually been there for a while according to the one worker been there twice now feels like walking into an ace workers were friendly helpful and knowledgeable used to go to another Home Depot nobody knew what they were talking about it didnt seem too interested in helping thats when I started going to ace older dudes know what theyre talking about

Management staff was available and very helpful. Melissa was a very friendly cashier and the lady in the flooring department with glasses and the tape on her arm was great too. I had flooring installed in 3 rooms and the contractor was on time and had it completed the same day.

I came in to buy a dishwasher after moving to the area. The guy in appliances was extremly rude and unhelpful. I believe his name was John. I will not be back again to this location. There are several other options just as close and with much better service.

The People at Elgin Home Depot are "Hands Down" the most helpful and knowledgeable group that I have ever worked with! Dean & Deborah in cabinets & flooring and Dave in carpet. . . First class!! We are VERY excited about our purchases!!

Do yourself a favour. If you need something from Home Depot, go to another store. This location is smaller and doesnt stock many common items. Try Algonquin or South Elgin.
