Whatever the service may have been three years ago, this place has totally changed today (2014). I havent been able to go 5 minutes at this Home Depot without someone saying hello and asking if I need help. Ive always gotten help with a smile, and their staff is very knowledgeable. Ive had the managers even walk me from aisle to aisle on big projects to make sure I get all of the right supplies, tools, and advice. Ive never once been asked if I need help at the local Menards or Lowes and, when I have sought people out at those stores, they have acted like its an inconvenience. Not so at the Geneva Home Depot. They get 99.9% of my business and will continue to if they keep up their current level of service. Prices are reasonable and in-line with other stores. Their selection is great too and they have rarely not had the item I needed in stock. When its not in stock, they have bent over backwards to find it at the North Aurora Home Depot (my second choice if need be - also good service there, but its not as great as it is in Geneva). In short, 5 BIG stars!!!!

Im a frequent visitor here, because it is closest hardware store , just 3 minutes from me. Store is clean and well kept. There are a lot of professional and knowledgeable people working here, and thats a pity that I need to rate this place 4*. BUT, there are 2 or 3 assistants that know nothing, and that might be OK, if they would understand their limitations, and promptly ask for advice from colleagues. Unfortunately they rather will confidently tell you that there are no solution or product not in stock... So if someone tells you that there no solution for your problem, double check it with other guy. Second big problem of HomeDepot in general is its "buy it new" strategy, meaning that their choice of sub-parts is limited. Nevertheless, most common things are there, I would say 80-90%. But it is very annoying when you need to go to other store because of some small thing, like a washer or gasket.

Went to check status of special order that is past due in delivery only to find that the vendor rejected the order when originally placed as the HD system sent it incorrectly. The HD system also did not accept or forward the vendors reject. Basically, the error in HDs system of placing the order was left unattended untill the customer inquired on its tardiness Checking order status on line prior to inquiring did not show any error, only "processing" and the HD clerk needed to call the vendor as to why the order was not processed. Further, as returned special orders are subject to a 15% restocking fee paid to HD, HD should have applied their own policy of 15% off due to system issues on their behalf. They refused. 0 stars on this experience.

We are not so knowledgeable about home improvement, so we were looking for someone to help. The person we found kept telling us what aisle to go to without really answering our questions. Then, he kept helping other customers in the middle of our question. Granted we needed many questions answered, but leaving in the middle of helping us was super rude. We also needed stain for a project. This was another crazy experience because we were asking for professional help; however, here too, we got the run around and few answers. Eventually, we just left without buying what we went for because we needed advice from people who are willing to help us be successful.

Received a refrigerator that started making terrible noises within a week of purchase. I called the store to see if they stand behind the product, being such a short time frame from delivery...nope. But I was told by the appliance staff, "its probably just a fan blade that got bent in delivery. That happens. But whirlpool will send someone out to tweak it." Perfect! I cant wait to have a "tweaked" brand new refrigerator. Buyer beware...at least one other appliance retailer in the area stands behind their products for 2 weeks, and they match prices. That company will definitely be getting my future business.

Stood at the service desk for several minutes waiting for one of the NINE orange aprons to acknowledge mr with something other than a lazy, bitter secret glance. Finally walked away and asked a lady stocking an aisle who sent me back to the desk where someone with all the disdain they could muster toward me for pulling them away from their group social hour suggested I try Ace Hardware. Pathetic. Want to look at your cameras? Service desk at 4pm on Saturday, August 19th. That guy waiting at the desk, that is the customer telling everyone how much you suck now.

This store is like a black hole--not enough people to help so you walk around looking for signs of life, and often when you get to the register, items arent priced so you stand around forever while a price check is done. I try to avoid this place and go to Menards or Lowes now.

The Home Depot in Geneva is my go to store!!! Then the Home Depot in North Aurora. If all else fails I will reluctlantly go to menards down the street.Lowes is my VERY LAST choice.The Home Depot in Geneva gets 99% of my business!!!!!
