Im surprised that this store has stayed in business as long as they have. I couldnt find anything new or interesting other than a centipede that I would never buy. The dry goods were all old and the displays were unimpressive. I asked the owner if he needed any help, as it looked like they were struggling and its my field of expertise. He then informed me that he only has his family work there, but most days hes alone. I wish he had a little more money to hire me, because this town needs a good pet store and this location has way more potential than the owner knows how to exploit. He needs to get rid of everything and start fresh with the layout. Then he needs to start carrying new products such as canister filters, live substrates, reactors, and LED light fixtures. The only aquatic plant I could see was a banana plant, and I can find those in the wild anyway. Im not saying he needs to start carrying saltwater livestock(although that wouldnt be a bad idea later on considering the lack of competition), but if youre gonna carry livestock at all, make sure youre doing it right. People from bigger cities like Tallahassee or Gainesville walk in this place and they walk right back out. The only people I see shopping here arent the kind to research their pets, theyd rather just take the owners word on it. Id like to see what the owner does if another pet store opened up in town. Maybe it would light a fire under him. Go elsewhere if you really care, but this place is perfect if you dont. Whatever happens, I wont be buying pets anytime soon... at least not here.

The owners of this pet store are very knowledgeable about all varieties of animal species, and the business has been family owned and run since its inception. Granted, Tallahassee and Gainesville are bigger cities than Live Oak, but the customers of this store are from all over. I appreciate what this business has offered my family in the way of products and animals. It is growing and many new changes have already began. It can be expensive and laborious to run any business, but the friendly owners do an awesome job. It is located in a small town, so its not as giant as Pet Smart of course, but I will always shop here. I like the store and the owners; they are awesome folks!

I wish there was a no star I bought 5 goldfish from here and did what he told me to do before I put them with my 3 fair goldfish the 5 goldfish died 1 by 1 and then my original 3 died I am very upset about it I will never step foot in that store again

Its a awesome local pet store, they will help you with any questions you have on pets. Plus if you are looking for a certain type of fish and they can order it, they will get you that fish.
