I just went to one of your stores on west. crestline ave and was treated with complete disrespect by the staff of a puppy adoption event. My friend and I were in there for maybe five minutes and we of course were looking at the multiple cages full of puppies placed plainly in the middle of the store. Neither of us were prepared to adopt at that moment but like any normal person we still went over to at least pet the puppies. After about only two minutes of petting the dogs a blonde woman who was with whatever organization was there rudely approached us and stated if we were not there to adopt we would need to leave and move to the other side of the store. Heres a tip if you dont want people to go over and pet puppies dont have them out in front of everyone who walks into the store to see. I probably could have been swayed to adopt today but that woman ruined our entire experience. I would highly advise Petco to go over common decency and friendliness with whatever people they have working the stores at those type of events.

The fish conditions are absolutely HORRIBLE. Most fish are infected with some kind of parasite. When I told the workers that their Fancy Goldfish had anchor worms, they could care less. I went back a week later to see if conditions of the fish had changed, only to see that there were more infected fish with anchor worms. I am very disappointed in this store. I used to be a regular customer, but now I cant stand it. The Betta conditions are also horrible as well. Bottom of the cups are yellowed, water very nasty. I constantly find dead Bettas. One time I even found 12 DEAD, when yesterday, those same 12 were alive. The ones that are still living are all in horrible condition and are also sick as well. I will never be shopping here for fish ever again. They do not care about their well-being of their fish. I will be taking my money to the Petsmart across the street who ACTUALLY CARE if they have an ill fish from now on.

This used to be my go-to pet store, the fish department used to be immaculate, but over the last several months every time Ive been in here half the fish have ich or velvet, or more than half of the tanks have signs that say "fish under observation". The staff used to be great, but now there are several young guys that are quite rude, and have yelled at my children when they touched the aquarium glass (my children did not hit, or tap the glass, they were simply pointing at the fish they liked) They also seemed under staffed, as it can take 20+ minutes before assistance can be given on a week day morning. Im giving 3 stars because there are still some good employees, and the rest of the store usually has good selection, and Petco pals reward deals.

Poor product selection and overpriced. Tried to return an in-store purchase, with the receipt, and was told I also had to have my card to complete the transaction. Was then told they could give me a store credit instead. Why would I want a store credit for $8? I left the product and my receipt with the associate and walked out. This is why Amazon is taking over brick & mortar stores.

We use the pet grooming monthly here. Amber in the grooming salon is the BEST! Our dog hates getting groomed but he loves her and she makes him very comfortable plus she bathes and brushes him so much better than anyone else! I can tell a difference when she does the job vs. someone else. It is a bit pricey however. Thanks Amber!

I really like petco, and one of the main reason I prefere petco over petsmart is the prices. They are unbeatable!! Ive never had a bad experience at petco, they have a very friendly and smart staff.

Great friendly staff. I went in for pull pockets for my old dog who hates taking pills and I asked an employee where to find them. He took me over to them and gave me a coupon!
