Got some fish from this store that were sick!! They got the 1 fish in my tank sick that I added them to. I tried to call store multiple times and got no response. Called customer service 3 times until manager of store finally called me. She was truly awful and proceeded to insult my intelligence staying I couldnt put 12 fish in a 65 gallon tank. Ive had this type of fish for over a decade... I am aware of how to correctly care for them. And since its been over a month since I first tried to deal with this issue I no long have my receipt and was basically told thats too bad. Bottom line I spent over $100 on sick fish that all died, had my intelligence insulted by the manager and now Im just out my fish or my money. I will never shop at this store again and would highly recommend that no one else does eithef. If I could give a no star rating I would!!

Vance, Chris, Juanita and the rest of the staff are very helpful, understanding and fantastic. We buy dog and cat food. The Best meal worms for reptiles. We bought geckos and fish...a fishtank and gecko tank. I suggest to talk with Vance about setting up a fish tank before you add the fish. Vance taught us that you cannot set up a fish tank in one day and add fish. Its a lot more than that. It took us 2 weeks to get the water levels right, but Vances advice was perfect and we now able to add the fish without killing them. Best advice is to ask questions no matter how stupid you think the question is, dont just jump into it and think you know it, unless you know what you are doing. Do your research and then make the commitment. I have been shopping here for over 10 years now and never once have I had a problem.

SO MAD. I called and asked about surrendering a couple of my baby rats, (my momma rat was pregnant when we got her from petco apparently) and the small animal specialist explained to me how they had a lot of sick ferrets at the time and would not be able to accept them, which I understood completely, so i asked if he had any other suggestions and he says, to a rat owner, that I should take them to a pet shop and they will take them as feeder rats. I was appalled and I feel that he should learn about the audience he is speaking with. Not a big deal to some but to me this is very upsetting that he couldnt give me any other suggestions than that. I will never shop here for anything ever again.

This place today is selling dogs for 360 bucks. I was not looking for a dog. I was coming in to get a warm pet carrier for the Chihuahua we just adopted for free thats 15 years old. This place is sad and pathetic their profiting off of dogs from puppy mills these dogs dont even look like they came from a rescue, but they said they were adopting them out 360+ dollars to adopt a dog that needs a home or they will get euthanized and thats what they said. If you dont adopt it theyre going to kill it. Straight out their mouths. basically Petco helps puppy mills get rid of dogs and thats their Motive is to try to make you believe that thats not what is happening.

Grooming manager rude with poor customer service. Dont ask for anything that is not on standard service. I wanted nail trim & the hair between paw pads trimmed (doodle). Mentioned that we just walked by creek so she might need paws washed. He said he didnt know what to charge me & told me that if they washed her paws he had to charge me for a full bath. Really? He got offended by me suggesting he look at what i was charged before or ask another employee. After that - he stopped listening. It was frustrating & ended by me being told he wouldnt serve customers with my attitude. Wow - not an experience I ever want to have again!

inhumane, dont EVER tell a pet owner its "Fly Season" when asked about flying insects around their living quarters. As if we go home to mud huts and are used to flies, be more compassionate like you would for your own place. If I do come back, its to see if your closed yet. For goodness sake if there are no openings in the room there wouldnt be a problem but instead i was the problem when in clear site i physically took several pictures of entrances and exits well enough to see them flying in and out. What this place is doing is wrong, and im not wrong for pointing it out. Horrible Compassion in a business that relies on only that.

The reviews for this Petco location seem to all be so extreme. I feel out of place doing a mediocre review. But the truth is, Ive never had a terrible experience nor have I ever had a phenomenal experience. Ive only gone in to get dog food and browse the toys and treats on my way. The location is handy for when Im in Belmar. Though the parking lot during the day on a weekend is nothing short of abysmal. Getting in or out is simply a nightmare. The employees are friendly, I suppose. The cashiers words say, "Have a nice day" but their eyes seem to say, "Can I go home yet?"

I usually love this store. Ive been shopping here for the years. Last week, the manager 9n call got very nasty with me over returnin things without a receipt. Very mean. Lectured me about something Ive been doing for 7 years as needed. Today he was there again. I pointed out the store policy and he turned his back. Needless to say he was again disrespectful. If he is there when you go in, dont expect him to be nice or helpful. His name is Nat. But, Juanita, one of the cashiers, is wonderful!

NOBODY works here! Every time I stop in theres literally one person working. So if you know exactly what you need and can get it yourself then its great, if you need help getting a bird, fish, turtle, rabbit, etc. youll be waiting a LONG time... PetCo: its a bad economy...hire a few more part-timers, theyre cheap and will actually help you keep business, because Im not coming back until you staff this place!

DO NOT GET YOIR DOGS GROOMED HERE. THE LADY IS ABUSIVE. our dogs are tramatized, thryre hunched over and havent sagged their tail at all. Extremely mean woman and I urge everyone to never have their dogs go through this. 200$ not worth 2 dogs. Our dogs have been to many different places for grooming and they have never been so skiddish and scared. Im serious and disappointed

Went in for the mobile clinic. The mobile clinic was great!!!! But the store.. the floors were extremely dirty :( ALSO!! Pet owners!!! If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs or other people do not bring them into a public function; stand in line and let your dog try to attack everybody!! This is totally unacceptable!! Will not be bringing my puppy back.

While the Petco is clean and organized, the employees leave a lot to be desired. The older lady with the short hair has a serious attitude problem. I dont know if she is unhappy with life or her work or whatever, but she is in need of some happiness. Yelling across the store is NOT ok. I would prefer never to go back to this Petco.
